The present invention relates to digital recording counters. Apparatus of this kind known to date generally include fairly complex recording devices intended to print out a large number of results in a very short time, such as those used, for example, as output elements of computers. digital. The mechanical parts of these devices generally require the arrangement of a large number of elements with high precision and a high cost price.
However, it is often sufficient to print count results at a reduced rate. The present invention aims to create, for this kind of printing of results at a reduced rate, a digital recorder meter that is simplified and, consequently, relatively inexpensive.
This digital recording counter is characterized, according to the invention, in that it consists of at least one binary counting decade comprising at least four bistable elements each having two outputs of complementary values, of an electronic control circuit. , a stop relay, a printing wheel provided on its circumference with signs in relief, and a circuit with several tracks driven in rotation by the axis of the wheel driven by a motor by means of a friction joint.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the digital recording counter which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial perspective view thereof, and FIG. 2 (a and b) is a diagram of the electronic circuits. The digital recording counter shown is intended for five counting decades, only one of which is shown. In a box of which only the opposite side walls 1 and 2 are shown, are mounted the printing members common to the five decades, namely an inking roller 3, a paper strip 4 and a striking device 5 actuated by a motor 6 by means of a cam 7.
An axis 8 driven by a motor 9 is rotatably supported by the walls 1 and 2; these walls also carry two transverse consoles 10 and 11 each provided with five grooves 12, 13 respectively; each pair of grooves 12, 13 is intended to support a plate of insulating material 14, only one of which is shown.
Each insulating plate 14 carries on one face eight conductive blades 15 (four of which are shown in fig. 1) bringing the output voltages of four bistable elements 30 (two of which are shown in fig. 1) of the counting decade to contact springs 16, and a conductive blade 17 bringing the resulting tension of a ninth contact spring 18 to the input of the electronic circuit 32 controlling the stop relay 19 whose armature 20 serves to stop the wheel 21 mounted on axis 8.
This wheel 21 carries figures on the outer face of its serrated rim. in relief from 0 to 9 arranged in a binary arrangement (complementary), the digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 being diametrically opposed to the digits 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 respectively.
The wheel 21 is driven by the axis 8 by means of a friction joint comprising a ring made of flexible material 22 housed and fixed in an annular groove of the axis 8 and a metal hub 23 of the wheel 21 Against the solid side wall of the wheel 21 is placed and glued a disc of insulating material 24 on the outer face of which is printed a circuit with five tracks 25. The four outer tracks cooperate with the contact springs 16 and the fifth track. control unit cooperates with the contact spring 18.
The actual electronic part of the counting process partially shown in FIG. 1 comprises the control circuit 32 of the stop relay 19 and the four electronic circuits represented by the flip-flops which constitute a decade of the binary counter of which E is the input and S the output. The outputs of these flip-flops are linked by logic circuits and diodes to the contact blades L1, L, L4, LR and Lï, LI, L @, LQ (fig. 2).
In case S is negative and S is zero, the logic circuit AND and OR >> links the outputs S,, S-, S, and Ss by diodes to the contact blades L ,, Ln, L. ,, L8 and the outputs transposed S ,, SR also by diodes to the contact blades L ,, L. ,, L4, LR. These diodes of connection with the contact blades and the printed circuit 25 form an OR logic circuit which controls the input of the control circuit 32 of the stop relay 19.
The operation of the counter-recorder is as follows: Thanks to the friction drive of the wheel 21 by means of the toroidal seal (ring 22 and hub 23), this wheel can be stopped in a position determined by the armature 20 of the relay 19 controlled by electronic circuit 32. This makes it possible to establish a correlation between the possible states of the digital counter and the positions of the wheel 21, and consequently to print on the strip of paper 4 the result of the count given by the figures embossed on the rims of the five wheels 21. To do this, the output voltages (eight values) of the four elements of each decade are linked by logic circuits and diodes to the contact blades 15, cooperating with the printed circuit tracks on disks 24.
The single contact 18 cooperating with the central track of the printed circuit represents the output of the OR logic circuit formed by the printed circuits, the eight contact blades and the diodes linking the latter to the logic circuit located at the outputs of the flip-flops, and is linked to the input of the electric circuit 32 controlling the wheel 21 stop relay 19.
If the input voltage is other than zero, the mature artery 20 of the relay is attracted and the released wheel 21 can be frictionally driven by the axle 8 and the o-ring 22, 23.
The printed circuit 25 integral with the wheel 21 is designed so that at the position of the wheel corresponding to the state of the counter, the voltage at the conductive surface of this circuit is zero. At this moment, the control circuit 32 releases the latter, which stops the wheel in this position. This design implies that the conductive segments of the tracks are only in contact with the springs linked to the outputs of bistable elements which, in this state of the counter, are at zero voltage.
By the time all. the wheels 21 of this recorder are stopped, the paper 4 is struck by the batter 5 against the raised signs inked by the roller 3 and the signs are printed on the strip of paper.
It is thus possible, by having the two complementary signs, for example 0 and 9, 1 and 8, 2 and 7, etc., arranged at 1800. From each other on the wheel 21, to print a complementary result compared to the state of the counter by putting the electrical line µ negative and S = 0 (when reading the direct result S = negative and S = 0).
In this case, it is necessary to choose a counting code in the binary counter in which the complementary digits 0 and 9, 1 and 8, 2 and 7, etc., are represented by complementary states of the four flip-flops, for example as follows
