Drag rope brake for ski lifts Drag rope brakes on ski lifts have the task of eliminating the impact of the skier attached to the free end of the tow rope. It only fulfills its purpose completely if its braking force when uncoiling the tow rope from the tow drum arranged in the tow cable carrier is zero or practically imperceptible at the beginning of uncoiling, but gradually as the uncoiling length increases, regardless of the speed of rotation of the tow drum increases in such a way that a full braking effect is achieved at the latest when the tow rope is completely pulled out.
As a result, the skier, according to the increasing braking torque, was gently taken from his standstill and gradually adapted to the speed of the hoist rope during the Abwickelvor gear.
The invention relates to a drag rope brake for ski lifts, for braking a tow rope that can be unwound from a drum against a spring action, the braking force of which is effective on the drum as a function of the free length of the tow rope by a coaxial to the tow drum angeord netes, with the rotation of the latter forcibly fig axially moving organ is automatically variable ge controls, which corresponds to the above requirements.
According to the invention, this tow brake is characterized in that it has a brake drum assigned to the tow drum, not connected to the same and freely rotatable in the winding direction of rotation, but prevented from rotating in the opposite direction of rotation, and that on the tow drum in the aforementioned brake Drum protruding brake shoes are arranged, wel che when twisting the tow drum in the Ab reel direction.
Control element, for application to the inner wall of the brake drum, experience a spreading with gradually increasing force, whereby an increasing deceleration of the towing drum takes place while the braking mechanism described is ineffective when the towing drum is rotated in the reeling direction and the control element gradually releases the brake shoes, whereby the same ben, released from the brake drum, are returned to their ineffective starting position.
An example embodiment of the tow brake according to the invention is shown in the drawing on the basis of a vertical section through the tow carrier and described below.
The illustrated, attached to the hoist rope of a ski lift in a manner not shown, tow carrier with tow brake has a circular, closed Ge housing in the front view, arrow direction A, which halves 1 and 2 is formed from two joined housing. Running in the center axis of this housing, a horizontal shaft 3 is supported with both of its ends in the end walls of this housing. Your left end in the figure has a square shoulder 3 a, on which a plate 4 connected to your housing part 1 is placed with a square hole, whereby rotation of the shaft 3 about its own axis is prevented.
A hexagon screw 5 introduced there coaxially into the shaft 3 from the outside also prevents any axial displacement of this shaft 3.
6 with the tow rope is referred to, which is wound on a tow drum 7 in the retracted position shown. This towing cable drum 7 is freely rotatably mounted on the shaft 3 by means of two spaced apart from the ball bearings 8 attached to the shaft 3. Adjacent to the end wall of the housing part 2, a spiral spring 9 is placed on the hub part 7a of the towing cable drum 7, which is pulled forward towards this side, the inner end of which is attached to the hub part 7a and the outer end of which is attached to the housing part 2 in a manner not shown in such a way that it is Rotation of the drum 7 in the sense of unwinding the tow rope 6 is tensioned.
At the end of the rim of the towing cable drum 7 are, each around a bearing pin 10: pivotable, two circular ring segment-shaped centrifugal weights 11 are arranged which, when the cable drum 7 rotates rapidly in both directions, are pressed onto a brake lining arranged on the inner peripheral wall of the housing part 1 and thereby throttle the speed of rotation of this drum 7 in a known manner.
On the part of the shaft 3 facing the housing part 1, a brake current mel 16 is attached by means of two ball bearings 13 and an intervening freewheel lock 14, the inner part of which is rotatably mounted on the shaft 3 by means of a fitting spring 15, which faces the spring 9 on its th face is open. The freewheel 14, the outer ring of which is firmly connected to the brake drum 16, enables the latter to rotate freely in the winding direction of the cable drum 7, with the clock hand when looking in the direction of arrow A, but prevents its rotation in the opposite direction, the direction of unwinding rotation of the cable drum 7. A circumferential brake lining 17, similar to the brake lining 12, is attached to the inner circumferential surface of the brake drum 16.
In the hub part 7b of the cable drum 7 facing the housing part 1, a number of obliquely outwardly projecting, cylindrical guide bushings 18 are fixedly arranged, evenly distributed over its circumference, which serve to support a number of circular ring segment-shaped brake shoes 19 protruding into the brake drum 16. These brake shoes 19 are held together to form a wreath by an annular tension spring 20 that encompasses them and is embedded in an outer groove, and their outer brake surfaces are located in the initial position shown at a distance within the brake lining 17.
A cylindrical plunger 21 is mounted axially displaceably within the sockets 18 and a compression spring 22 is inserted between the head of this plunger 21 and the inside of the brake shoes 19, while the free ends of the said plungers 21 protrude into the interior of the hub part 7a. The between tween the ball bearings 8 located part of the shaft 3 is provided with an external thread 3b, on wel chem a corresponding mating thread facing nut 23 is screwed. This nut 23 has a conical outer jacket surface 23a which is tapered towards the brake drum 16; In addition, on the root side of its cone it has a collar 23b which is provided with an axially parallel outer groove 23c.
A feather key-like, axially parallel to the inner surface of the hub part 7a, which is fastened to the inner surface of the hub part 7a and which rotates the nut 23 when the towing cable drum 7 is rotated, protrudes into this groove 23c. The thread 3b is designed such that when the tow cable drum 7 is rotated in the sense of unwinding the tow cable 6, the nut 23 is moved axially on the thread 3b in the direction of the brake drum 16, but away from the brake drum 16 when it is rotated in the opposite direction.
The operation and mode of operation of the dargestell th and described tow brake is as follows: The starting position is assumed to be the one presented in the figure, in which the tow rope 6 is wound on the tow drum 7 and the spring 9 with low bias the tow bar, not shown, at the end of the Drag rope 6 holds in its bracket, not shown, on the tow carrier. The nut 23 is in its right ineffective starting position, the brake shoes 19 with relaxed springs 20, and the flyweights 11 are also ineffective. After the tow rope handle has been detected by the stationary skier, the tow rope 6, under tension of the spring 9, is unwound from the drum 7 while the ski lift is running. The drum 7 rotates counterclockwise when looking in the direction of arrow A.
The nut 23 is rotated in the same direction via the driver 24, as a result of which it moves on the thread 3b in the direction of the plunger 21. Your conical outer surface 23a comes into contact with the inner ends of the plunger 21 and gradually shifts the same outwards. Here, the springs 22 are compressed more and more, which in turn, the brake shoes 19 only weak and then more and more ker, against the force of the spring 20, spread while the same on the brake pad 17 of the blocked in this direction of rotation by the freewheel lock 14 brake drum 16 to Bring concern. As a result, an increasing braking torque is effective on the towing cable drum 7.
At the beginning of the tow rope extension, the skier is not yet taken along. As the cable extension length increases, however, the tensile force on the tow cable 6 increases gently, due to the characteristics of the spring 9, even without the action of the shoe brake 16, 17, 19. Light skiers are already increasingly accelerated in this phase and reach the haul rope speed approximately in the first third of the range of action of the shoe brake 16, 17, 19, depending on the plunger-compression spring combination 21, 22, i.e. before the tow rope 6 is fully extended.
Heavy skiers, however, are accelerated accordingly later and only slightly by the braking action of the coil spring 9. They are, however, using the entire cable extension length and under the action of the shoe brake 16, 17, 19, accelerated so increasingly that they have reached the speed of the hoist rope when the tow rope 6 is fully extended. This eliminates the disadvantageous starting shock.
After the skier releases the tow bar, the force of the tensioned spiral spring 9 rotates the tow drum 17 clockwise to wind up the tow cable 6, while at the same time the brake drum 18, which can rotate in this direction of rotation as a result of the freewheel 14, due to the pressed brake shoes 19 is taken. The shoe brake 16, 17, 19 is therefore ineffective in this direction of rotation. Simultaneously with this reel rotation of the drum 7, the nut 23 is moved to the right in the figure on the Ge thread 3b, whereby the plunger 21 while tensioning the compression springs 22 gradually slide back into their starting position. The brake shoes 19 are released under the action of the spring 20 from the brake lining 17 and come back to rest on their sockets 18, according to their starting position.
The flyweights 11 are pressed by the centrifugal force against the brake lining 12 fixed in the housing part 1 when the towing rope drum 7 is rotated and, due to the resulting friction, when the towing rope 6 is pulled out, an additional braking of the towing rope drum 7 is dependent on the unwinding speed, while later Tow rope retraction by this braking, the retraction speed of the tow rope 6 is limited.
