Slide projector with a device for controlling the projection light flux The invention relates to a slide projector with a device for controlling the projection light flux.
The different transparency of the alternating slides during a presentation causes fluctuations in the luminance of the projected image. These fluctuations quickly tire the eyes of the observer.
In order to reduce these phenomena disadvantageous for the eyes of the viewer, A devices have become known, with the help of which the luminance of the projected image from the demonstration device is constantly measured. The result of this measurement is used according to a new proposal for automatic control of the voltage supplied to the projection lamp or the aperture of the projection lens. This control of the projection luminous flux takes place with the means that have become known practically without delay, so that the eye no longer perceives fluctuations in the luminance of the projected image.
Although these known devices have setting means with which you can make a presetting of the luminance according to the subjective impression, they have the disadvantage that they do not take into account the room lighting. For this reason, manual readjustment of the luminance is often necessary during the presentation in order to restore the desired contrast between the room brightness and the luminance of the projected image.
The invention provides a device which eliminates this disadvantage and completes the automation of the presentation of slides. In accordance with the invention, this is achieved in that the device for regulating the projection luminous flux contains two photoelectric converters, one of which is provided with a measuring angle limiter aimed at this projection image for the purpose of measuring the luminance of the projected image, the light effects from the space surrounding the projection image switches, and the other is provided with a measuring angle limiter that only allows light from the room
in particular from the area around the projected image, can hit the photoelectric converter. The photoelectric converters can be photo resistors and be included as resistors in a bridge circuit in such a way that each of the photo resistors forms a branch of the bridge.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. All details that are not directly related to the invention have been dispensed with. There are shown: Fig. 1 a circuit diagram to explain the we action of a device for controlling the projection light flux, Fig. 2 a projector with the device and Fig. 3 shows the detail at A in Fig. 2 in section.
Fig.l shows in a bridge circuit a resistor R1, a controllable resistor R2, a photoresistor R3 for measuring the luminance of the projected image, a photoresistor R4 for measuring the brightness of the room, in the diagonal circle of the bridge a polarized relay Ro and supply voltage sources Q1 and Q2. To the supply voltage sources Q1 or
Q2 is connected to a diaphragm servomotor 1 whose feed circuit is closed or opened by the relay Ro and its direction of rotation is dependent on the direction of the current flowing in the diagonal circle of the bridge. The diaphragm servomotor is gear-connected to the diaphragm 2 of the projection lens in a known manner.
A measuring angle limiter 3 is connected upstream of the photoresistor R3, and a measuring angle limiter 4 is connected upstream of the photoresistor R4.
The slide projector 5 shown in FIG. 2 is equipped with a measuring unit 6, the measuring direction of which can be adjusted by means of a parallax compensation.
Details of this measuring device in the dash-dotted circle A are shown in FIG. The photoresistors R3 and R4 are mounted one behind the other within a transparent sleeve 7. A housing 8 is used for this, translucent sleeve 7 and the photowider stood R; as a bearing, while the transparent sleeve 7 at its end opposite the bearing receives a diaphragm 9 with an opening 9a and a holder 10 for the photoresistor R4.
The aperture 9 serves to limit the photoresistor R4, the socket 10 to the photoresistor R3 as a measuring angle. The eccentric 11 can be rotated about its bearing pin and is supported on the housing of the projector 5. The housing 8 itself is pivotable about an axis 15, hinged to the housing of the projector 5 with the aid of a bearing pin 16.
Of course, the photoresistor R4 can also be covered by an additional transparent pane or a lens can be inserted into the opening 9a.
The setting of the slide projector begins with the choice of contrast according to the subjective impression, with the help of the adjustable resistor R2. If the room brightness is now increased, the resistance of the photoresistor R4 and thus the resistance of the bridge branch in which it is located decreases. Since the resistors Ri, R2 and R3 remain unchanged, a current flows in the relay Ro, with the help of which the circuit Q1; Ro; l; Q1 is closed.
The diaphragm 2 of the projection lens is opened until the increasing luminance of the projected image has influenced the photoresistor R3 directed onto it until the bridge is balanced. Then the relay drops out again and the adjustment process is ended.
With greater luminance of the projected image as a result of the greater transparency of the newly inserted slide, the resistance of the photo resistor R3 falls and disrupts the bridge equilibrium. The adjustment is carried out in that the relay R through which the current flows in the opposite direction, the circuit Q2; l; Ro; Q2 closes and thus lets the shutter motor 1 run in the other direction.
The diaphragm 2 of the projection lens is closed until the preset contrast is achieved again. Once the adjustment has been completed, the relay also falls back into its central position.
Of course, a solution not shown in the exemplary embodiment is also possible in the same way, which brings about an automatic weakening of the> room brightness. It becomes necessary when the diaphragm 2 of the projection lens has reached its largest opening, but the desired contrast has not yet been set. For this purpose, for example, the aperture setting motor would have to switch on a resistor in the room lighting circuit when it reaches the end position for the aperture adjustment.
The alignment of the bridge until the preset contrast is achieved is then achieved by adjusting the aperture of the projection lens and darkening the room lighting. Lowering the voltage of the projection lamp is not recommended, as this also results in a falsification of the color values for most lamp types.
