Method for extracting a core from its cavity in a half-drupe and machine for implementing this method The present invention relates to the pitting of drupes, peaches and apricots for example, and relates to a method for extracting a core from its cavity in a half-drupe and a machine for the implementation of this process.
The method which is the subject of the invention is characterized in that the half-drupe filled with the core is moved along a determined path, thus defining a front end and a rear end of the core, and in that, simultaneously, the core is pushed. from behind out of its cavity.
The machine for implementing this process, which also comprises the invention, is characterized in that it comprises cutting means arranged to cut a drupe practically to the core and to separate one of the core. 'other half-drupes thus obtained, the core being housed in one of the half-drupes, and coring means comprising, for each of the half-drupes, a mobile coring member arranged to penetrate into the core cavity of the corresponding half-drupe while the latter move away from each other, so that the core lodged in one of the half-drupes and reached by the corresponding coring member, is pushed out of the cavity .
An implementation of the method which is the subject of the invention is described below by way of example with reference to the appended drawing, which represents an embodiment of the pitting machine which the invention also comprises.
Figs. 1 and 2 are elevational views of the machine, from the front and the rear, respectively, some elements being omitted.
Fig. 3 is a section taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 1. FIG. 4 is a section along line 4-4 of the fi-. 3.
Figs. 5 and 6 are partial front views similar to that of FIG. 1, but in other operating positions.
Fig. 7 is a view on a larger scale of a mechanism visible in FIG. 3.
Fig. 8 is a partial plan view of the machine, on a larger scale than the fi-. 1 to 3. Figs. 9, 10 and 11 are respectively front, plan and profile views of a mechanism visible in FIG. 1, on a larger scale than the latter. Figs. 12 and 13 show details of the machine, on a larger scale than in FIGS. 1 to 3. Figs. 14 to 16 illustrate the phases of the ejection of a nucleus.
The pitting machine shown comprises various mechanisms supported by a vertical flange 1. The mechanisms located in front of this flange which are visible in FIG. 1, while those located behind this flange are visible in FIG. 2. Hoods, not shown, can be provided to dis simulate most of the mechanisms.
A feed arm 2 (fig. 3) is arranged on the front of the flange 1. This arm, located in a vertical plane, is fixed by its lower end on a horizontal axis 3 mounted for rotation in the front end of 'a support 4 fixed to the base of the flange 1.
The upper end of the feed arm 2 has a drupe support 5, on which a drupe 9 such as a peach or an apricot, for example, can be placed by an operator, in order to bring this drupe carried by said support. within reach of a sharing and pitting mechanism which will be described later. The drupe support 5 comprises two side cheeks 7 (Fig. 7) parallel to each other and which are spaced apart.
On their anterior edges, these cheeks 7 have noses 8 and the outline of these elements is shaped so as to constitute a seat which adapts to the convex surface of the drupe shown in dotted lines at 9 in FIG. 3. The drupe placed on the cheeks 7 behind the noses 8 is automatically centered on the support 5, due to the presence of divergent bevels formed on the upper edges of the cheeks 7 and on the posterior edges of the noses 8.
A horizontal axis 10 (FIG. 7) carries a retaining element 11 housed between the two cheeks 7. This element 11 has the shape of a fork, and a blade 12, arranged between the cheeks 7 and fixed to the latter by a screw 6 is housed between the two arms of the element 11. This blade 12 remains stationary relative to the cheeks 7 and its upper edge is sharp so as to be able to cut the skin and the flesh of the drupe practically to the core of the latter, as explained below.
The blade 12 is pierced with a hole through which the screw 6 passes, and spacer sleeves 14 are threaded onto the screw on either side of the blade 12, in order to hold the blade in an angular position. determined by tightening the screw 6 screwed into the threaded hole of one of the cheeks 7.
The cheeks 7 are fixed to the upper end of the arm 2, by means of a bolt 15. This bolt is housed in a slot which allows the adjustment of the position of the support 5 on the arm 2, and a spring 15 ' connects the lower end of the retainer 11 to the feed arm 2.
The retaining element 11 can thus tilt relative to the blade 12 and it is held resiliently in a position close to the vertical by the spring 15 '.
It constitutes an elastic stop for the rear side of the drupe 9 and can be pushed backwards by this drupe to pass under the latter when the drupe has been moved rearward to be brought to a stoning device which grasps it. and that the support 5 returns to its initial loading position to receive the following drupe. During the return movement of the support 5, the drupe being .retained in the coring device, the blade 12 cuts the skin and the flesh of the drupe on the lower part of the latter and in a vertical plane passing through the center of the drupe. drupe.
The axis 3 carries a lever 16, the end of which is articulated on the lower end of a rod 17 ap proximately vertical. The upper end of this rod 17 is articulated on a lever 18 (FIG. 1) mounted in an adjustable manner on the front end of a shaft 19. The angular position of the lever 18 on the shaft 19 can be easily changed, and a bolt 20 (fig. 1) allows the lever 18 to be locked in the desired position, to obtain a synchronized movement of the support 5.
As can be seen in fig. 1, the shaft 19 and a similar parallel shaft 21 are pivoted in the flange 1, the shaft 19 being on the right of the machine while the shaft 21 is on the. left of the latter (fig. 1). The shafts 19 and 21 each carry a movable stoning member 22 and the arrangement is the same on both sides of the machine.
Each mobile stoning member 22, which has the shape of a fork with two teeth, is mounted on the free end of an arm 23 (Fig. 1, 3) mounted in an adjustable manner on the corresponding shaft 19 or 21. Each pitting member 22 is located approximately radially relative to the corresponding shaft 19 or 21, and the adjustable mounting of the arms 23 makes it possible to synchronize the movement of said members 22 as a function of the particular working conditions of the machine.
When the machine is in operation, the shaft 19 is driven in a clockwise direction, while the shaft 21 turns in the opposite direction (fig. 1). As a result, one of the members 22 moves in a clockwise direction, while the other member moves in the opposite direction, and the slightly curved forks are placed back to back when they are located. at the top of their respective trajectory.
A toothed wheel 25 is wedged on the shaft 19 (FIG. 2), on the rear face of the flange 1. This wheel 25 meshes with a wheel 26 of the same diameter, wedged on the shaft 21. The wheel 26 is itself. even driven by a pinion 27 mounted on the same shaft as a wheel 28 meshing with a pinion 29 mounted on the same shaft as a pulley 30 driven by a belt 31 connected to a motor.
As a result of the rotation of the shaft 19, the feed arm 2 is caused to oscillate between the position of receiving the drupe shown in FIG. 3 (front position) and a dispensing position (rear position) in which the drupe placed on the support 5 is brought between two opposite jaws 36 (FIG. 1). These jaws 36 visible in plan in FIG. 8 are spaced apart from each other and have the shape of a very open V, so that they ensure centering of the drupe which they are brought to pin cer between them.
Each of the jaws 36 is placed at the lower end of an element 37 (fig. 1 and 3) articulated between the arms of a fork 38 wedged on the front end of a horizontal shaft 39.
The two shafts 39 are pivoted in the flange 1 and these shafts carry on their rear ends one, a balance 40 (FIG. 2), and the other, a side oven 41. The angular position of the oven 38 on the shafts 39 is adjustable, in order to allow the adjustment of the synchronization of the movements.
A roller 42 pivoted on one end of the balance 40 is housed between the two fingers of the fork 41. The other end of the balance 40 is articulated on the upper end of an approximately vertical rod 43 (fig. 2) . The lower end of the rod 43 is articulated on the end of a rod 44 approximately horizontal horizontal, the other end of which is articulated on a side wall of the flange 1. A spring 45 disposed between the rod 44 and the flange 1 tends to lower the rod 44. The axis of the articulation formed between the rods 43 and 44 carries a roller 46 which cooperates with a cam 47 wedged in an adjustable manner on one of the sides of the wheel 26, by means of a bolt 48 housed in a curved slot 49 of the cam.
This arrangement makes it possible to modify the angular position of the cam 47 relative to the shaft 21. The spring 45 resiliently maintains the roller 46 against the peripheral surface of the cam 47 designed to rotate the shafts 39 alternately in one direction and in the other.
The movement of the shafts 39 has the effect of bringing first the jaws 36 in a separated position to receive the drupe 9 brought by the support 5 then, the end of the upper part of the cam 47 reaching under the roller, the two jaws 36 close on the drupe under the action of the spring 45 which keeps the jaws tight on the drupe, the jaws 36 thus being able to grip drupes of different sizes.
The cam 47 is however shaped to limit the coming together of the jaws 36, because a vertical push 52 (fig. 1) animated by a back and forth movement periodically descends between these jaws to push down the drupe. previously brought between them, into a lower position situated between two gripping elements described below.
In this phase, the operation of the machine is as follows: an operator places a drupe 9 on the mobile support 5, the drupe 9 preferably being oriented on this support so that its slot is placed in a vertical plane corresponding to that of the blade 12. The drupe 9 bearing against the noses 8 of the support 5 is, where appropriate, resiliently held against the latter by the retaining element 11 disposed behind it. The tail of the drupe, or the corresponding end of the latter, faces upward.
The support 5 moves back, bringing the drupe between the jaws 36 between which the drupe is then pinched when these jaws approach each other under the action of the spring 45. Once the drupe is gripped by the jaws 36, the support 5 returns to its previous loading position. During the return movement of the support 5, the retaining element 11 automatically retracts against the action of the spring 15 'while the blade 12 slits the lower part of the drupe, almost to the core.
The drupe is then ready to be pushed down during a further movement which will have the effect of slicing on the sides of the drupe the flesh already cut to the core at the lower part of the drupe. This new cutting operation leaves the flesh intact only on the upper end of the drupe, on which the tail of the drupe is located.
The downward movement of the drupe is caused by a pusher 52 which moves vertically, this pusher pushing the drupe down, from the position it occupies between the jaws 36. The lower end of the drupe pusher 52 carries a head 53 (fig. 1 and 3) carrying two blades 54 whose aligned cutting edges are located in a horizontal plane, projecting on the underside of the head 53. The blades 54, when they are lowered onto the face upper part of the drupe, cut the flesh of the latter in the same plane as the cut already made by the blade 12 on the lower part of the drupe.
The blades 54 penetrate into the drupe to a level located lower than the upper end of the pit carrying the fruit tail, so that said end of the pit is lodged in the space between the blades 54. The edges two adjacent blades 54 form an inverted V (fig. 3) which has the effect of centering the end of the core between the blades 54, in the event that the drupe is slightly offset laterally with respect to the pusher 52.
A bracket 56 (FIG. 1) arranged on the upper part of the flange 1 has two guide sleeves 57 in which the pusher 52 slides vertically. A block 58 (FIG. 1) is fixed on the part of the pusher 52 -comprised between the sleeves 57 and two vertical links 59 are articulated on the ends of a transverse axis 60 carried by said block 58.
The rods 59 are articulated by their lower ends on two parallel arms 61 (fig. 1 and 8) carried by a block 62 capable of oscillating on a horizontal shaft 63 pivoted in bearings arranged in a bracket 64 fixed on the flange 1.
A vertical rod 66 (Fig. 1 and 8) is articulated by its upper end on the block 62. The lower end of this rod is articulated at 67 (Fig. 1) on the free end of an arm 68 wedged in an adjustable manner on the anterior end of a shaft 69. This shaft 69 is pivoted in the flange 1 and its rear end located behind the flange 1 carries an arm 70 (FIG. 2) the free end of which carries a roller 71 housed in a cam groove 72 hollow in the wheel 26.
This mechanism communicates a native vertical alter movement to the rod 66 and causes a vertical reciprocating movement of the pusher 52, synchronized with the movements of the jaws 36 and of the support 5, and which has the effect of pushing down the drupe located between the jaws. 36 while the support 5 comes forward to receive the next drupe. (The support 5 is then empty, the drupe 9 remaining pinned between the jaws 36 before being pushed down.) FIG. 9 is a side view of a mechanism comprising two blades 75 arranged one behind the other in this view.
Fig. 10 is a plan view of the same mechanism, in which the two blades 75 are visible. On this fia. 10, also shown in dotted lines two blades 76 belonging to an opposite mechanism not shown and which cooperate with the blades 75, as explained below.
The two blades 75 are arranged in the same vertical plane and are spaced from one another, leaving a free passage between their cutting edges 77 (fia. 10) for the passage of the core of the drupe. The two my 76 have an identical relative position and, on the fia. 1 and 5, the pairs of blades 75 and 76 are shown in contiguous position.
The two blades 75 are mounted on the arms 78 of a stirrup (fig. 10) and the drupe is shown in dotted lines at 9, the core 9 'of the drupe being housed in the passage 77.
The two pairs of blades 75, 76, are in contiguous position, as shown in fia. 1, 5 and 10, when the pusher 52 descends and pushes the drupe down. The head 53 pushes the drupe low enough so that its upper part is brought slightly lower than the upper edge of the blades 75, 76, the drupe then occupying the position shown at 9 to fia. 1.
As a result of the existence of the passage 77 between the blades 75, 76, nothing retains the lower end of the core, whatever the length of the latter.
As already explained, the blade 12 disposed on the support 5 has cut the lower part of the drupe. The blades 75, 76 then cut the drupe in the same plane as the blade 12, on both sides of the drupe and after the blades 54 carried by the head 53 of the pusher 52 have cut the upper part of the drupe. The flesh of the drupe is thus completely sliced, all around the stone, when the pusher 52 reaches the lower end of its stroke and this result has been achieved without the fruit or the blades having turned.
The two blades 75 on the one hand, and the two blades 76 on the other hand, are carried by brackets 78 (fia. 10) integral with two supports 79. These supports 79 face each other, so that the blades 75 and the blades 76 can occupy the contiguous position shown at fia. 1. The supports 79 are fixed on the front ends of two horizontal shafts 81 and 82 (fia. 1) which can turn in the flange 1.
The posterior ends of these shafts carry two toothed sectors 83, 84 located behind the flange 1 (fia. 2). These two sectors 83, 84 mesh with each other and are wedged in an adjustable manner on the shafts 81, 82 by means of bolts 85 housed in curved slots 86 of the sectors and which are screwed into arms 87 (fia . 3) wedged on shafts 81, 82.
The supports 79 occupy the position shown in fi g. 1 (the blades 75 and 76 being contiguous) when the sectors 83, 84 are in the angular positions shown in fia. 2.
An arm 89 (fia. 2) is articulated by one of its ends at 90, on the sector 84, at a point eccentric with respect to the axis of the shaft 82. The other end of this arm has a longitudinal slot 91 in which is housed a roller 92 disposed on a terminal journal formed on the shaft 19 (fia. 3). A nut 93, with an interposed washer, covers the end of the journal and maintains the roller 92 against a shoulder of the shaft 19.
The arm 89 has a finger carrying a roller 95 housed in a cam groove 96 (fig. 2 and 3) hollowed out in the rear face of a cam 97. The rear end of the shaft 19 passes through the cam 97. loose on this shaft and a locking finger 98, eccentric with respect to the axis of the shaft 19, passes through a curved slot 99 cut in the cam 97. This finger integral with the wheel 25 establishes the connection between this wheel and cam 97, while allowing, to a certain extent, the adjustment of the cam timing.
The devices making it possible to adjust the timing of the cam 97, of the sectors 83, 84 and of the other cams 47, 72, for example, make it possible to synchronize the movements of the various mechanisms of the machine.
During the rotation of the wheel 25, the rotation of the cam 97 fixed to this wheel causes, through the intermediary of the arm 89 connected to the sector 84, an oscillatory movement of the two sectors 83, 84 and, consequently, of shafts 81, 82 carrying the two pairs of blades 75, 76, these blades oscillating between the position shown in fia. 5 in which they are contiguous and that shown in FIG. 6 in which they are arranged in the same horizontal plane, the two pairs of blades then being widely separated.
In the bearings of the flange 1, are mounted two parallel shafts 101, 102 (fia. 2) arranged between the shafts 81 and 82 on the one hand, and the shafts 19 and 21, on the other hand. These shafts 101 and 102 each carry a wheel 103, the two wheels 103 meshing with each other and a wheel 104 fixed on the shaft 19 meshing with the wheel 103 arranged on the shaft 102.
At the anterior end of the shafts 101 and 102, on the front face of the flange 1, are arranged journals 105 eccentric with respect to the axis of rotation of the corresponding shaft (fia. 1, 5 and 6). These journals 105 are housed in an ap proximately vertical slot 106 formed in the lower part of levers 107, 108. These levers 107 and 108 are pivoted on the flange 1, on pivots 109 (fia. 3).
During the rotation of the shafts 101 and 102, by dragging a corresponding displacement of the eccentric journals 105, the levers 107 and 108 are caused to oscillate about their pivot, their lower ends approaching and moving apart alternately.
The two supports 79 are arranged in the same way, one being arranged on the right of the machine, while the other is placed on the left of the latter. The fia. 10 shows in plan the support 79 which is fixed on the shaft 82 as well as the elements carried by this support 79.
In the position shown in solid lines at the fia. 10, the blades 75 are in the position shown in fia. 1, in which they are ready to receive a drupe 9. The arms 78 of the stirrup (fig. 1, 9 and 10) are integral with a block 111 (fig. 9) which is itself fixed to a shaft. 112. This shaft 112 is rotatably mounted in bearings 113 (fia. 10) provided in the support 79 and which are arranged on either side of the block 111. The shaft 112 has an extension 114 (fia. 10) disposed on the rear side close to the flange 1 and this extension 114 carries an arm 115 disposed laterally.
At the free end of this arm 115, there is provided a roller 116 arranged to cooperate with the corresponding lever 107 by resting on the latter just below the lower end of a concave surface 117 </ B> provided on this lever (fia. 6) when the support 79 swings the blades 75 towards the position shown in fia. 5. The levers 107, 108 each have such a concave surface 117 facing the adjacent support 79 and said concave surfaces 117 are circular in shape and centered on the axes of the corresponding shafts 81 and 82.
When the roller 116 engages with the cam lever 107, the arm 115 is caused to tilt, which has the effect of causing the tilting of a corresponding clamp 118 which then moves away from the neighboring blades 75 to release the half-drupe that said clamp previously held against said blades. This clamp 118 is carried by the corresponding block 111 which is fixed in an adjustable manner on the corresponding shaft 112.
The clamp 118 has at the rear two parallel vertical ears 119 (fig. 9 and 10) and the block 111 has two ears 120 (fig. 9) located on either side of these ears 119 and extending lower. than the latter on the rear face of the clamp 118. The ears 120 are connected to these ears 119 by a pivot 121. The same pivot 121 is articulated at the anterior end of an approximately horizontal arm 122 (fig. 9). ) lodged between the ears 119.
Above the pivot 121, slightly behind the latter, the ears 119 carry a second pivot 123 which is articulated on the anterior end of an arm 124.
A horizontal sleeve 126 located at the rear end of the support 79 (fia. 10) comprises an anterior boss 127 housed between two parallel horizontal ears 128. A vertical pivot 129 connects said bos sage 127 to said ears 128 and allows the sleeve 126 to pivot in a horizontal plane.
A shaft 130 (fia. 10) is pivoted in the sleeve 126. The end of this shaft adjacent to the flange which 1 carries a roller 131 (fia. 10) resting on the curved peripheral surface of a cam 132 fixed in an adjustable manner on the flange 1. The peripheral surface of the cam 132 is concentric with the axis of the shaft 82 around which the support 79 can tilt and this cam surface extends over an arc slightly greater than 90 ".
The fia. 12 shows different positions occupied by the roller 131 on the cam 132. This cam has two parts 135 and 136 slightly higher, which are arranged in the vicinity of the ends of the cam. These upper parts are separated by a central lower part and at the end of the cam, beyond the upper part 135, a small marginal lower part is provided, the purpose of which will be described below.
The arm 122, the front end of which is articulated on the pivot 121 located at the lower end of the clamp 118, is articulated by its rear end on a pivot 139 disposed at the lower end of a movable arm 138. A spring 137 is disposed between the rear end of the arm 122 and a flange 134 integral with the support 79.
The support 79 also includes a sleeve 140 (fig. 10). An axis 141 is fixed in this sleeve 140 and an extension of this axis 141 is articulated in the upper end of the arm 138 (fig. 9 and 11).
Under the axis 141, there is provided a screw 142 screwed into a wall of the support 79 (fia. 11) and which carries a locking nut 143 allowing this screw to be locked in the desired position. Screw 142 carries a locking pad 144 which abuts arm 124 (fig. 11). The arm 124 is located above the aforementioned arm 122 and has a longitudinal slot 147 in which an end stud 145 of the screw 142 is seated (fig. 9 and 11).
The sleeve 126 has a lateral locking tab 146 having an end bearing face located against the arm 138. The arm 124 is slidably mounted on the stud 145 of the screw 142 and its lateral face bears against the lateral face of the arm. 138 (fia. 11). The arm 138 can on the other hand be slid axially on its pivots 139 and 141. In this way, when the locking tab 146 is brought to rock against the arm 138, it presses one against the other the arms 124 and 138 which are retained laterally by the blocking shoe 144 and thus ensures complete blocking of said arms 124 and 138. This blocking of the arms 124 and 138 occurs when the roller 131 is on the upper part. 135 of cam 132.
As visible to the fia. 13, the anterior face of the clamp 118 intended to cooperate with the drupe has an upper part 148 and a lower part 149. The clamp carried by the shaft 81 has the same configuration and the active faces of the two clamps face each other. and are spaced from each other under the pusher 52, and respectively on the right and the left of the outer faces of the pairs of blades 75 and 76.
The upper parts 148 of the two clamps diverge in an upward direction and have a concave horizontal cross section. In this way, a drupe pushed down by the pusher 52 penetrates between the upper parts 148 of the clamps 118 which are liable to move apart to allow the drupe to reach lower between the lower parts 149 of said clamps. These lower parts, con-cave in shape, adapt to the outline of a generally spherical drupe (fig. 13). In horizontal section, the lower parts 149 also have a V-shaped section such as that visible in FIG. 10, which ensures centering of the drupe.
When the drupe has reached between the lower parts 149 of the clamps, it is caught in a housing in which it is kept immobilized.
We have seen that at the start of the coring operation, the operator placed a drupe (a peach for example) on the support 5 (fig. 3) then, following the backward movement of this support , the drupe was brought to a point located between the jaws 36 which closed when the rod 44 was actuated (FIG. 2) under the action of the spring 45, until the drupe was seized.
The support 5 then immediately returning forward in its loading position, and the element retreating to pass under the drupe, the blade 12 carried by the support 5 had cut the skin and the flesh on the lower part of the drupe. drupe, in the plane that the flesh of the drupe is to be cut.
The pusher 52 then descends rapidly, under the action of the roller 71 cooperating with the cam 72 and pushes the drupe down, on the blades 75, 76 which are at this time in the contiguous position shown in FIG. 5.
The pairs of blades 75, 76 slice the flesh of the drupe on the two opposite sides of the latter and the cutting edges 54 located on the head 53 placed at the end of the pusher 52 cut the upper part of the drupe on both sides. on the other side of the tail, it being understood that the drupe was initially placed on the support 5 in a position such that it is brought with the tail up between the jaws 36. The flesh of the drupe is thus practically completely cut off once. once the drupe has reached the bottom of the blades 75, 76.
The supports 79 are in the position shown in FIG. 5 when the drupe has reached the end of the movement which it performs under the action of the pusher 52, this pusher having pushed the drupe sufficiently low so that the upper end of the drupe is then lower than the upper edges of the blades 75, 76. The drupe and the supports are then in the position shown in FIG. 5.
In this angular position of the supports 79, the rollers 131 are in the position indicated at 150 (see fig. 12), in the immediate vicinity of the upper part 135 of the cam 132. In this position of the rollers, the locking tab 146 is not tight and the clamps 118 bear on the drupe under the sole elastic action of the springs 137 (fig. 9).
When the support 79 begins to tilt, the roller 131 rises in the position indicated at 151 in fig. 12, and the blocking tab 146 and the blocking shoe 144 pin the levers 124 and 138, between them, thus blocking the clamps 118 applied against the half-drupes themselves against the pair of blades 75 or 76 corresponding. The half-drupes are thus firmly held against the blades 75, 76 while they are detached from one another.
After a short angular displacement corresponding to the separation of the half-drupes, the rollers 131 reach the lower parts of the cams 132, thus freeing the levers 124 and 138. The only the force exerted by the spring 137 is then sufficient to maintain the half-drupe against the corresponding blades.
Slightly before the supports 79 reach the position shown in FIG. 6, the rollers 131 then being in the position indicated at 152 (fig. 12) and the half-drupes having the orientation visible in fig. 14, the clamps 118 are again blocked as a result of the rise of the roller 131 on the upper part 136 of the cam. Any relative movement between the half-drupes and the blades 75, respectively 76, is then prevented when the stoning members 22 enter the half-drupes through the rear end of the core which has the tail, as illustrated in FIGS. 14 to 16.
In general, the nucleus will have remained in one or the other of the half-drupes, without it being possible to determine in advance in which of the latter. It may also happen that the kernel splits and its halves remain in the two halves. In all cases, the two core cores 22 are actuated and release the core.
Fig. 15 shows the relative position of the pitting member 22 and the core, as the blades 75 continue to move after the member 22 has come into engagement with the core. Note that the front end of the nucleus opposite the tail is the first to be extracted from the cavity, as a result of a forward movement of the nucleus relative to the half-drupe which also continues its movement.
Fig. 16 shows the relative position taken by the elements, once the core is released from the half-drupe, this position corresponding to that of the machine shown in FIG. 6.
During the passage of the pitting member 22 in the various successive positions shown in FIGS. 14, 15, 16, the half-drupe is positively blocked. The half-drupe thus remains blocked during the start of the return movement of the support 79, until the moment when the roller 131 having reached the end of the upper part 136 of the oar 132 falls back into the position indicated at 153 (fig. . 12).
The clamps 118 are then held tight only by the action: springs 137 and in the meantime, the cam levers 107, 108 have been brought by the eccentric bolts 105 (fig. 6) in a position such that the shoulders 155 (fig. 6) located at the junction of the curved face 117 and the lower flat face immediately adjacent, reach against the rollers 116 (fig. 10). The engagement of gaets 116 and of these shoulders 155 has the effect of rotating the shafts 114 supporting the clamps 118, so as to positively separate these clamps from the half-drupes, to release the latter.
Once the half-drupe has been released, the roller 131 rises on the upper part 135 of the cam 132 and returns to its starting position indicated at 150 in fig. 12. This starting position is also shown in FIG. 4.
The clamps 118 are then free to switch around the pivots 121, so that they can take the orientation which suits the particular shape of the drupe brought in by the pusher 52. This orientation remains possible as long as the roller 131 is on a lower part of the cam 132. When the roller 131 has reached one of the upper parts 135 or 136 of the cam, the clamp is on the other hand positively blocked.
