Thread regulating device on sewing machines The invention relates to a thread regulating device on sewing machines, which is arranged independently of the thread tensioning device below the thread transmitter on the head wall of the machine.
In all known sewing machines of the type mentioned, the thread regulating device consists of a torsion spring built into a housing with a hanging hook. In most known sewing machines, this thread regulating device is built together with the thread tensioning device to form a unit. In all of these known designs, the upper thread has to be guided around a bolt or a roller before it can be brought into the suspension hook of the torsion spring.
So that the thin wire of the torsion spring does not cause the thread to break when the latter has pulled the spring up and taut it, there must always be a thread stop that relieves the pressure of the regulating spring.
Since the thread regulating device must always be arranged below the lowest point of the thread take-up device, this condition, especially in those machines in which the regulating device is assembled with the tensioning device and at the same time is on the side of the machine head facing the seamstress (which, so to speak, is always the Case is) the view of the needle and sewing is severely obstructed, which turns out to be a major disadvantage when sewing. These regulating and tensioning devices protrude far into the field of vision and deprive the seamstress of a large part of the view of the needle and the sewing material and force her to adopt an unnatural posture. Another major disadvantage of the known regulating devices is that the thin torsion springs often break.
For this reason, a spare spring must be added to the sewing machine accessories in most cases. The regulating spring can only be changed by a specialist. In terms of sewing technology, the disadvantage of the torsion spring is that, due to the thin wire thickness, it puts a lot of strain on the sewing thread, which leads to faults such as thread damage and thread breakage, especially with the fine threads that are frequently used today, including those made of synthetic fibers such as nylon, Polyester etc.
In the thread regulating device according to the invention according to the type mentioned at the beginning, all these deficiencies should be eliminated, which was achieved in that the part of the regulating member guiding the upper thread is designed as a spring-loaded, rigid rocking lever into which the upper thread is threaded directly without any diversion , whereby only the thread leading part of the regulating member protrudes, the head wall protrudes in order to obtain the greatest possible clear view of the needle and the sewing material. Special advantages can be achieved through this device: simple design, easy threading, trouble-free function and more intensive regulation of the thread. In addition, the unobstructed view of the needle and sewing material is not obstructed by any pre-built elements.
Since the close runners have the habit of coming very close to the machine with their heads, it is of the greatest importance that there are no elements jumping out of the machine body between the eye and the sewing work.
In the accompanying drawings, two exemplary embodiments of the subject invention are made. It shows: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a sewing machine with the visible part of the Reguliereinrich device and the run of the upper thread from the thread roll to the needle, Fig. 2 is a front view of the sewing machine head, from which the unobstructed view of the sewing work clearly visible Fig. 3 is a cross section through the regulating device built into the machine head according to the first embodiment,
4 shows a longitudinal section along the line 1-I in FIG. 3, the regulation of the rocker arm by the regulating screw being visible, FIG. 5 a cross section along the line II-11 in FIG. 3, FIG. 6 a cross section through the In the machine head built-in regulating device according to the second embodiment and FIG. 7 shows a cross section along the line III-111 in FIG. 6.
With 1 of the head of the sewing machine arm is referred to in the drawing. On it is the through slot 2 for the thread encoder 3. Below half of the slot 2, another slot 4 is provided for the passage and the lateral guidance of a rocker lever 5, which is rotatably mounted on an axis 6. The axle 6 is mounted in the front wall section of the head 1. The part of the rocker arm 5 protruding a little from the head 1 has a thread eyelet 7 and a threading slot B. A screw 9 is provided in order to be able to regulate the rocker arm 5 in the lower position, i.e. in the rest position, in accordance with the penetration of the needle into the material to be sewn .
A spring 10, which is guided in a sleeve 11, always presses the rocker arm 5 against the stop and regulating screw 9. With a screw 12, the spring pressure on the rocker dearel 5 can be regulated. 13 is an elastic washer that absorbs the impact of the latter when the rocker arm 5 swings up, thereby preventing Ge noises. In order to prevent noise when swinging down the rocker arm 5, that is, when this strikes the stop or regulating screw 9, the rocker arm 5 is provided with a resilient and elastic stop 14, the z. B. can be a resilient wire with a summing cover.
With 15 and 16 Fa are deneguards and 17 denotes the thread tensioning device. 18 with the needle bar and 19 with the needle. The rocker arm 5 is mounted in the front part of the head on the axis 6 in such a way that the mouth of the threading litz. 8 immersed in the slot 4 when the rocker arm 5 is in the rest position to prevent automatic threading from the thread. During each stitch formation, the rocker arm 5 swings once up and once down.
The mode of operation of this first embodiment example is as follows: After the upper thread removed from the thread roll through the eyelet 15 in the thread tension 17, guided into the eyelet 16 and from here directly into the eyelet 7 of the rocker arm 5 and from here in the thread dispenser 3 and is now threaded into the needle 19, the machine is set in motion with known means. When upward movement of the thread feeder 3, the upper thread lifts the rocker arm 5 from the regulating and stop screw 9 and pulls it into the position shown in dashed lines in FIG. As is well known, a regulating device should keep the thread taut as long as the thread feeder goes down until the needle eye enters the sewing material with its eye.
The downward movement of the rocker arm 5 takes place, accordingly to the downward movement of the thread feeder 3, where the rocker arm 5 holds the thread loosened by the downward movement of the thread feeder 3 until the needle 19 enters the fabric. The regulation and correct setting of the rocker arm 5 takes place through the cone of the screw 9, which makes the rocker arm 5 higher when screwed in and lower when screwed back.
The fact that the upper thread runs from the eyelet 16 down to the thread eyelet of the rocking lever 5 and from here back up to the thread take-up 3 approximately parallel, the radii of the eyelet 7 of the rocking lever 5 being many times greater than the radius of the usual regulating spring the regulation of the upper thread is much more intensive and the withdrawal of the thread much softer, which is of great importance for the sewing process. Thanks to this swing lever regulation, sewing can be carried out with a far lower upper thread tension, which of course is extremely important when sewing quickly and especially with sensitive sewing threads such as nylon etc.
Because the entire head area facing the seamstress is not covered by any structural elements, there are no obstacles that reduce the field of vision to the sewing work, which is of inestimable value when performing precise sewing work. In addition, the aesthetic appearance of the machine that is provided with the subject invention improves.
In the second Auführungsbeispiel, which differs from the first by the design of the rocker arm, 20 is referred to as a torsion spring. At the front end of this spring 20, a rigid rocking lever with thread eyelet 21 and threading slot 22 is attached; this rocker arm is guided in the passage slot 4 and protrudes just as in the first embodiment only a little out of the head 1. The torsion spring 20 is tightened by a bolt 23 provided with a screw slot. The latter is held in place by a screw 24.
In a bore 25 sits a slotted ring 26 which is held firmly in the bore 25 by its spring force. The ring 26 has a stop edge 27 on which the torsion spring 20 rests and thus limits the rocker arm with its thread eyelet 21 in the lowest position. A stop edge 28 forms the limit for the maximum position of the rocker lever, which is shown in dashed lines in Fig. 6 is. The functioning of this second embodiment is the same as that of the first example.
The only difference is the setting of the regulating device. The regulation and correct setting of the torsion spring 20 with the thread eyelet 21 is done by turning the regulating ring 26 in the bore 25 of the head 1. If the ring 26 is turned clockwise, the stop 27 comes to lie lower, the regulating spring 20 touches later. By adjusting in the opposite direction, the stop 27 comes to lie higher, the regulating spring 20 comes on earlier.
The pressure of the spring 20 can be increased or decreased depending on the type of thread by loosening the screw 24 and turning the bolt 23 clockwise or in the opposite direction. The screw 24 is tightened again after the correct pressure of the spring 20 has been achieved.
