Heat exchanger The invention is concerned with a heat exchanger of the type known from Swiss Patent No. 283884, which has a stack of plates made of technical silicates within a housing, which are stacked and clamped together with the interposition of spacer strips delimiting the passage channels , wherein the spacer strips are glued to a neighboring plate assigned to them.
By gluing the spacer strips to the adjacent plate assigned to them, the stacking of the heat exchanger is facilitated. Each individual stacking element thus consists of a plate and spacer strips glued to it, which are already in the intended position due to the gluing and do not have to be specially inserted when stacking.
This arrangement has proven itself well, in particular as long as the crossing channels are traversed by media that have no significant pressure difference against each other.
If, however, this pressure difference is greater and significant, then - since the spacer strips are only glued to their neighboring plate on one side - the other neighboring plate can be lifted from these spacers under the elastic deformation generated by the pressure and thus undesired escape of a medium to the sides of the stack and thus to the other medium.
To remedy this situation, it is provided according to the invention that, in heat exchangers for media of different pressure, the spacer strips along the edge of the plate of the passage channels of the higher pressure medium are tightly sealed against the neighboring plate.
This tight seal against the other adjacent plate is not required for spacer strips that are not along the edge of the plate, because the through channels separated by such spacer strips always have the same pressure and therefore no medium should be trespassed at this point fear is.
Such a seal between the spacer strips and the other adjacent plate can also be effected by gluing if necessary. In this case, a stacking unit consists of a plate, the spacer strips glued to this plate, a second to this spacer strip glued to the plate and further, transverse to the first mentioned, glued to the second plate and belonging to this spacer strip.
But you can also create the seal between the spacer strips and the other neighboring plate by an additional rubber-elastic sealing strip inserted next to the spacer strip angeord Neten on the edge of the plate, which has a slightly greater thickness than the glued spacer strip in the unstressed state.
As a result, the rubber-elastic additional spacer strip is squeezed together when the stack is clamped together and produces the desired seal.
In the drawing, embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are schematically Darge provides. 1 shows a finished stack, corresponding to Swiss patent specification No. 283884, FIG. 2 in an exploded diagrammatic representation some stack elements of the same prior known stack, it being possible to see
which parts are glued to one another from the start and form a stacking unit, FIG. 3 a diagrammatic exploded view of some stacking elements according to the invention for the case that the medium of higher pressure is guided through the through channels leading from left to right in the figure , Fig. 4 shows the same illustration for the case
that the medium of higher pressure is passed through the passage channels directed from right to left in the figure, FIG. 5 shows a plan view of a stacking element with inserted rubber-elastic sealing strips, FIG. 6 shows an end view of this.
From the representation of the finished stack according to FIG. 1 it can be seen that there are three spacer strips 18 to 23 between the glass plates 11 to 17 reaching the full cross section of the exchanger. Two of these three spacer strips are located along the edge of the plate, while the third is in the middle. The direction of these spacer strips, which are also made of glass, changes between the individual plate layers in such a way that the passage channels created by them cross one another.
The spacers 18 between the plates 11 and 12 and the spacers 20 between the plates 13 and 14 and the spacers 22 between the plates 15 and 16 form the passage channels for a medium M, and run accordingly in the direction of the arrows drawn for this purpose.
In contrast, the spacers 19 are between the plates 12 and 13 and 21 between the plates 14 and 15 and the spacers 23 between the plates 16 and 17 in a perpendicular direction, so that they pass through channels for a medium M2 in the direction indicated by the arrow form.
The entire stack is clamped in a housing (not shown) in such a way that pressure is exerted on it in the direction of arrow p and its individual elements are held together.
In the previous type of construction of such a stack, the spacer strips were each combined with an adjacent plate to form a stack element by gluing. This shows FIG. 2, where the presence of a gluing is indicated by a curl line. Accordingly, they are the spacer strips 18 is glued to the plate 12, the spacer strips 19 are glued to the plate 13, the spacer strips 20 are glued to the plate 14, etc. One plate with three spacer strips thus forms an easy-to-use stacking element.
In a stack assembled from such stack elements according to FIG. 2, certain difficulties can arise when the two media M1 and M2 have different pressures. Since the entire stack is only stretched together elastically, a medium such. B. the plate 11 from the spacers 18 not glued to it or the plate 12 from the spacers 19 etc. not glued to it, z.
B. as a result of deflection and thereby an escape of medium with higher pressure on the edge of the plate, the spacers 18, 19, etc. are possible.
In Figure 3, the case of the remedy provided according to the invention for the case that the medium M., the overpressure compared to the medium M, is shown.
In this case, the channels for the medium M .., with the greater pressure bil ding spacers 19 and 21 are not only glued to the neighboring plates 13 and 15 below according to the type of gluing shown in FIG. 2, but the the two outer spacers 19 and 21 located on the edge of the plate are also glued to the plates 12 and 14 lying above them, in a sealed manner.
Now the overpressure can no longer expand the channels for the medium M in the sealed zone, while this danger does not exist in the case of the through channels for the medium of lower pressure (M1).
In the case according to FIG. 3 there are more extensive stack elements than in the known case; to a single, a unit forming stack element belong in this case, for. B. the plates 12 and 13 and a total of six spacer strips 18 and 19.
In the case of FIG. 4 it is assumed that the medium Ml has the greater pressure. As a result, care must be taken to ensure that the passage channels for this medium Ml cannot become leaky when the plates are lifted off. It is therefore ensured that the spacer strips 20 delimiting the channels for the medium M1, insofar as they lie on the outer plate edge, are tightly glued not only to the plate 14 below the bar, but also to the plate 13 above it. The same applies to the spacer strips 22 with respect to the plates 15 and 16.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the through channels drawn there only for the medium with the higher pressure between two plates 31 and 33 and a total of three spacer strips 32 are secured against leakage by, on the one hand, the spacer strips 32 being attached to them in the usual way associated adjacent plate 31 are glued and further spacer strips 34 running transversely thereto are glued to the plate 33.
But also along the outer spacing strips 32 profile strips 35 made of rubber-like material are inserted into the pressure channels, which in the untensioned state (in Fig. 5 and 6, z. B. as a circular profile) have a thickness that is slightly above the height of the passage channel extends so that when the plates are clamped together, the sealing strip 35 is pressed together and the pressure channel is sealed.
In the same way, of course, the pressure channels running perpendicular to the pressure channels according to FIGS. 5 and 6 can also be sealed off by the neighboring plates in the event that these carry the medium with the higher pressure. To simplify the illustration, the thickness of the plates and the spacers made of glass are shown exaggerated.
The described design of a heat exchanger can also be used for those with multi-stage cross-flow or for counter-flow.
