So muss z.

<tb> 67 <SEP> : <SEP> 23 <SEP> : <SEP> 10

Process for the production of a dyeing preparation For the production of aqueous solutions of arylamides of 2,3-oxy-naphthoe.acid, as they are used in dyeing and printing, who are known to either heat them with caustic soda with the addition of protective colloids or without heating using denatured alcohol, sodium hydroxide solution and optionally form aldehyde dissolved. For some aryl amides of 2,3 oxynaphthoic acid, the use of special methods is necessary. So z.
B. 2- (2 ', 3'-oxynaphthoylamino) -naphthalene can be dissolved after the hot dissolving process by pasting with a protective colloid and sodium hydroxide solution, heating the paste thus obtained, pouring hot water over it and then boiling the solution.
After the cold dissolving process, a concentrated alkaline solution is first prepared from the 2- (2 ', 3' oxy, naphthoylamino) naphthalene, denatured alcohol, sodium hydroxide solution and water, which is then stirred into the dyebath after about 10 to 15 minutes , which in turn contains a protective colloid and sodium hydroxide solution.
In the case of 2- (2 ', 3'-oxy-naphthoylamino) -naphthalene, however, dye baths which have only a limited shelf life and become cloudy after a few hours due to hydrolysis are obtained by both processes. This is especially the case when one uses water with a hardness of up to about 15 German hardness for the preparation of the dyebaths, not distilled water, but hardness builders, as is often the case in practice.
The use of such cloudy solutions of 2- (2 ', 3'-oxy-na # phthoylarnino) -naphthafine, in which the arylamide finally partially separates, results, however, in dyeings which have unsatisfactory rubfastness.
It has now been found that durable dye preparations which are clearly soluble in alkali-containing water are obtained if 2- (2 ', 3'-oxy-naphthoyl-amino) -naphthalene with the condensation product of 1 mole of formaldehyde and 2 moles of ss- Naphthalene sulfonic acid and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or their alkali or ammonium salts mixed. Optionally, small amounts of a customary wetting agent, e.g.
B. about 0.1 to 2 Gew.o / o, based on the weight of the dye preparation, 2,5-dibutyl-a-naphthalenesulfosaurcs sodium or another wetting agent can be used. Particularly suitable alkali salts of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid are the sodium and potassium salts. The ammonium salt is also suitable in the same way.
The weight ratio between the 2- (2 ', 3'-oxynaphthoylamino) naphthalene on the one hand and the condensation product of formaldehyde and β-naphthalenesulfonic acid and ethylenediamine @mintetraacetic acid and its alkali salts on the other hand, and also the weight ratio between the condensation product Formaldehyde and P) -naphthalene sulfonic acid and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or their alkali salts can vary within wide limits.
In practice, mixing ratios in the range of about 10-70, in particular about 25-70 parts by weight for a) 2- (2 ', 3'-oxynaphthoylamino) naphthalene, about 20-80, in particular about 25-65 parts by weight for b) the condensation product of formaldehyde and β-naphthalenesulfonic acid and about 10-50, in particular about 10-30 parts by weight for c) the ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its alkali salts have proven to be suitable.
Special mention should be made of coloring preparations based on the following mixing ratios for the 3 components:

<tb> 50 <SEP>: <SEP> 20 <SEP>: <SEP> 30
<tb> 67 <SEP>: <SEP> 23 <SEP>: <SEP> 10
<tb> 25 <SEP>: <SEP> 65 <SEP>: <SEP> 10 The dye preparations available in this way can be used directly for the purposes of dyeing and printing. For example, they can be dissolved by simply stirring them into water at 90 ° C. to which sodium hydroxide solution has been added, the duration of the dissolving being significantly shortened compared to the previous process.
The solutions obtained in this way remain clear for days after cooling, even if water with a hardness of up to about 15 German hardness is used for their production. By diluting these solutions with cold, hard or soft water to the concentration necessary for dyeing, one also obtains stable solutions whose shelf life can also be achieved by adding z. B. Na trium chloride is not affected. In addition, the dyeings produced with it have very good rub fastness.
It is already known that ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid can be used to bind hardness components in water. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid has also been added to the dye baths to improve coloration and increase durability. There are also other methods be known in which dispersants, so u. a. The condensation product of formaldehyde and ß-naphthalene sulfonic acid has also been added to the primer baths in order to achieve better solubility.
From these known processes, the process according to the invention, which is based on the common use of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its alkali metal salts and the condensation product of formaldehyde and p-naphthalenesulfonic acid, cannot be derived, however, since the sole addition of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its alkali salts or :
the sole addition of the condensation product of formaldehyde and ß-naphthalenesulfonic acid, no clear, durable dye baths with 2- (2 ', 3'-oxynaphthoylamino) - naphthalene can be obtained. Even when using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid together with other known dispersants, the effect of the dye preparations produced by the inventive method is not achieved.
<I> Example </I> 50 g of 2- (2 ', 3'-oxy-naphthoylamino) -naphthalene were intimately trium with 35 g of the condensation product of 1 mole of formaldehyde and 2 moles of ii-naphthalenesulfonic acid and 15 g of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid mixed.
The mixture obtainable in this way is clearly soluble in hot water containing sodium hydroxide solution, optionally with the addition of about 1 to 1% of a wetting agent. The mixture described above was used, for example, to produce a dye bath by dissolving it in 4 liters of hot water (about 90 ° C.) which contained 224 cm3 of sodium hydroxide solution of 38 B6 and 0.5 g of 2,5-dibutyl-a-naphthalenesulfosaurc.s sodium which showed no turbidity due to hydrolysis even when standing. The solution can be used immediately for dyeing vegetable fibers.
