Pneumatic system with several consumers connected to a common compressed air source The invention relates to a pneumatic system with several consumers connected to a common compressed air source and means for controlling the supply of the latter.
Its primary purpose is to simplify and reduce the cost of the control means with regard to a program-based supply or venting of the consumer.
The system according to the invention is characterized in that the means have a motor-driven, step-by-step rotatable drum provided with ventilation holes and a rail provided with or almost adjacent to the outer surface of the drum and provided with through-holes opening onto the drum, for each consumer there is a line connecting the compressed air source to one of the through-holes in the rail, which line is equipped with a throttle point and is connected between the latter and the rail with the relevant consumer.
The accompanying drawing is a semi-schematic representation of an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. The single figure is a perspective view of part of this exemplary embodiment.
A drum 2 is rotatably but immovably mounted on a stationary part 1 and is connected by a shaft 3 to a pneumatic, electric or other type of switching motor 4, by which it is rotated further by one step (in the present example by 30 each).
The drum 2 is provided with ventilation holes 5. A rail 6, which is fastened to the part 1 by means of the carrier 7, rests entirely or almost entirely on the outer surface of the drum 2. This rail be seated through bores 8 which open onto the drum 2, the arrangement being such that the ventilation holes 5 overlap with the through bores 8 in the various switching positions of the drum.
The through-bores 8 are connected to a common compressed air tank 10 (compressed air source) by associated lines 9. Each of these lines 9 is equipped with a throttle nozzle 11 and connected between the latter and the rail 6 by a line 12 to a consumer 13; the consumers are shown as compressed air cylinders, but could of course consist of other machine components.
Looking at one of the bores 8, it is easy to see that if there is a vent hole 5 opposite it in a certain switching position of the drum, the associated line 9 to the nozzle 11, and also the associated line 12 and the associated consumer 13 are vented . Is in the next switching position of the drum 2 no vent hole 5 opposite this through hole 8, the above-mentioned system parts 9, 12, 13 through the nozzle 11 of the relevant line 9 is quickly filled with compressed air, so the associated consumer 13 is quickly fed with compressed air.
When using the system in an automatic machine (for example an automatic machine tool), one full revolution of the drum 2 corresponds to one functional cycle of the automatic machine. The design of the system is very simple and clear, even with a large number of consumers, with the omission of many switching valves, relay valves and the like. Another benefit is that consumers are smoother, i. H. work less suddenly than in systems in which their supply is controlled by suddenly opening and closing (e.g. electromagnetically operated) valves.
The storage of the drum 2 made of steel or plastic, for example, can be designed in a known manner so that the drum can be quickly and easily exchanged for a similar drum with differently arranged vent holes 5. In the case of machines in which the system described is used, it is sufficient to simply change the drum 2 to switch to a different functional cycle.
If a small gap (of, for example, 0.02 mm) is provided between the rail 8 and the drum 2, there is probably little leakage, but then neither the rail nor the drum are subject to wear.
