Description
Device for manual control of a sanitary appliance emptying plug The present invention relates to a device for manual control of a sanitary appliance emptying plug, in particular of a washbasin bowl.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a maneuvering handle integral with a control rod and a ball latch for maintaining said rod in two extreme positions corresponding respectively to the opening and closing of the rod. the bung.
The single figure of the appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment in axial section of the device forming the subject of the present invention.
This device comprises a maneuvering handle 1, screwed onto a control rod 2 connected to a linkage (not shown) serving to actuate a drain plug for a basin, bidet or other appliance. sanitary. The rod 2 has at its end adjacent to the handle 1 two grooves 3 and 4, and is mounted in a guide member 5 on which a nut 6 is screwed.
A ball lock comprising a ball 7 urged by a spring 8 against the grooved end of the rod 2, and a countersunk screw 9 for adjusting the tension of the spring 8, is mounted radially in the nut 6 so that the ball engages in one of the grooves 3 and 4 when the rod 2 is moved as will be described below.
The grooved end of the shank 2 has a smaller diameter than the other part of the shank so that a shoulder 2 'is provided between these two parts and serves to prevent the extraction of said shank from the shank. nut 6 by abutting against the bottom of the bore 6 'receiving the guide member 5.
A threaded tube 10 integral with the guiding member 5 serves to fix the device described on the sanitary appliance. For this purpose, this tube 10 carries, on the one hand, a nut 11 with washer 12 intended to come to bear against a hidden part of the device and, on the other hand, a rosette 13 intended to come to the surface. top of the device.
The operation of the device described is as follows. In the position shown, the handle 1 is depressed and the rod 2 is retained in this position by the ball 7 engaged in the groove 3. The emptying plug is then assumed to be open. If the handle 1 is pulled, the ball 7 is released from the groove 3 and forced against the action of its spring 8 towards the interior of the corresponding radial bore formed in the nut 6. At the time when the groove 4 comes into contact with the ball 7, the latter is pushed into said groove by its spring, the rod 2 then being retained in this new position corresponding to the closure of the emptying plug and with the shoulder 2 'butting against the bottom of the bore 6' of the nut 6.
The advantage of the control device described lies in the fact that the triggering of the ball in the grooves 3 and 4 is perceptible to the user and produces sufficient locking to prevent accidental displacement of the control rod 2.
