Description

Machine for sawing or grinding concrete and asphalt slabs The present invention relates to a machine for sawing or grinding concrete and asphalt slabs, comprising a carriage on which are mounted a hydraulic motor, whose shaft carries a circular saw or a grinding wheel mounted directly on it, a pump supplying said motor with pressurized fluid, and a motor driving said pump.

This machine is characterized by the fact that it comprises a lateral stop pusher, the position of which is adjustable, and which is, for this purpose, subjected to the action of a cylinder supplied with pressurized fluid, this pusher bearing , at its free end, a rolling roller intended to bear on an edge of the slab to be sawed or grinded, the whole in such a way as to allow said edge to be followed by the machine, this while maintaining said roller constantly in contact with said rim.

The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the machine which is the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is an elevational view of this machine, with partial sections.

Fig. 2 is a front view thereof, and FIG. 3 is a rear view, partially cut away.

The machine shown comprises a carriage, the frame of which consists of a frame made of metal beams 1. This carriage is provided with three wheels, namely a central front steering wheel 2, and two rear driving wheels 3.

This carriage carries an internal combustion engine 4 driving a main pump 5 and a cooling fan 6. This motor also drives a secondary pump 7. An oil tank 8 is also mounted on the carriage. The machine comprises a grinding wheel or circular saw 9, intended for making grooves in concrete or asphalt slabs, to create either expansion joints or fracture initiators, for example.

This grinding wheel or saw 9 is mounted directly on the shaft 10 of a main hydraulic motor 11 supplied by the pump 5 with pressurized oil, taken from the reservoir 8. It should be noted that the oil pipes under pressure, as well as the return pipes to the reservoir 8 have not been shown, so as not to overload the drawing.

The shaft 10 of the motor 11 is inclined 450 with respect to the transverse axis of the machine, so that the saw 9 is placed in a plane which also forms an angle of 45o with respect to this transverse axis. The motor 11 and the saw 9 are placed. at the front of the machine, to the left of the chassis, in relation to the direction of travel. In order to modify the depth at which the sawing is carried out, or to allow the machine to be moved without the saw attacking the concrete, the height of the front part of the carriage is adjustable.

For this purpose, the front wheel 2 is carried by a yoke 12 mounted at the end of a verticaji '13 shaft leading to a hydraulic cylinder 14 supplied with pressurized oil by the secondary pump. is provided by another jack, designated by 15, the rod 16 of which carries a control finger 17 engaging in a fork 18 integral with the shaft 13 of the steered wheel 2.

The machine further comprises a pusher 19, perpendicular to the shaft 10 of the main hydraulic motor 11, which carries, at its free end, a running roller 20, and ends at its other end at a pilot cylinder 21, so that its axial position is adjustable. This pusher 9 is guided by a sleeve 22 carried: by the motor housing 11, and passes over the saw 9 to which it is parallel.

Once the roller 20 is in contact with a rim that the slab may have, for example a sidewalk rim such as the rim 23 of FIG. 2, and by keeping this roller constantly applied against this rim, the machine can be made to follow a very exact direction. The two wheels 3 of the carriage are driving. To this end, their axis 24 carries two drums 25 on which bear two drive rollers 26 carried by a shaft 27.

The latter also carries a toothed wheel 28 driven, by a chain 29, by a second hydraulic motor, designated by 30. This hydraulic motor 30 is supplied by the secondary pump 7, with oil taken from the reservoir, see 8. The shaft 27 carrying the drive rollers 26 is mounted on two levers 31, articulated at 32 on the frame of the carriage.

These levers 31 are subjected to the action of two eccentrics 33 mounted on a shaft 34 controlled by a lever 35, which can be actuated manually, which makes it possible either to press the rollers 26 against the drums 25, thus ensuring the drive of the driving wheels 3 , by friction of the rollers on the drums, or to disengage the transmission, by moving the rollers 26 away from the drums 25.

It should be noted that all the levers and control levers, acting in particular on the various parts of the machine, and which have not all been shown, are placed at the rear end of the machine, within easy reach. hand of the operator walking behind the truck.
