EMI1.1

Process for the preparation of the therapeutically useful uracil-6-carboxylic acid choline
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of the therapeutically usable uracil-6-carboxylic acid choline, which is characterized in that uracil-6-carboxylic acid (2,4-dioxy-pyrimidine-6-carboxylic acid) is reacted with choline.

  example
Choline chloride, dissolved in water, is converted into the free base using a suitable anion exchanger and the salt is then formed with the equivalent amount of uracil-6-carboxylic acid. The uracilcarboxylic acid choline obtained is a white, granular, completely water-soluble product with a choline content (determined as pure choline) that practically corresponds to the theoretical value. The salt has the formula:
EMI1.1
PATENT CLAIM 40 Process for the preparation of the therapeutically usable uracil-6-carboxylic acid choline, characterized in that uracyl-6-carboxylic acid is reacted with choline.
