Grating and method for its production and device for carrying out the method The present invention is a grate made of support rods and the same ge held cross bars in slots.
There are known gratings of this type. In most cases, however, these have the disadvantage that the slots for receiving the cross bars are cut into the support bars from above, so that their upper edges are interrupted. As a result, the strength of the support rods go partially ver funny and bend sideways when they are subjected to large local loads, for example due to the profile increases in the wheels of trucks and the like. On the other hand, gratings are known, the cross bars of which pass through closed slots in the support bars.
These in turn have the disadvantage that the upper edges of the transverse bars are not in the same plane as those of the bearing bars.
Most known gratings also have the further disadvantage that their cross bars are also cut out over part of their height at the connection points with the support bars.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate all the disadvantages mentioned and to create a grating of extraordinary strength and load-bearing capacity. The invention consists in that the upper delimiting edges of the support rods and the transverse rods lie essentially in a common plane, that the transverse rods are not slotted, and that the upper edges of the support rods are not interrupted. The support rods and the transverse rods are preferably pressed together at their crossing points to form a self-retaining connection.
The invention also relates to a method for producing this grating, which is characterized in that the cross bars are pushed through the slots of the support bars and then pressed towards the upper edges of the latter until the upper edges of the cross bars between the supporting bars in the plane of the upper edges of the latter.
The invention also provides a device for performing this method. The device is characterized by a die with at least one continuous groove for receiving a support rod, on both sides of which pressure surfaces are arranged which merge into the groove through bevels, to which die an essentially flat press ram is assigned.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of a grating according to the invention together with a device for producing the same is illustrated. The figures show: FIG. 1 a section of one support rod alone, in a side view, FIG. 2 a section of a transverse rod pushed through the slots of three support rods prior to the pressing process in one of FIG. 1 > by 9011 ver set view, Fig. 3a a section through a part of the finished grate, Fig. 3b the shape of one end of a cross bar,
4a shows a section offset by 9011 along line IV-IV in FIG. 3a, FIG. 4b shows the shape of one end of a support rod, and FIG. 5 shows a section of a pressing device for finishing the grate.
The support rod 1 according to FIG. 1 is provided with slots 2 which are closed, that is to say not cut into the rod from above, so that the material is along the upper edge 3 of the support rod is not interrupted at all. The transverse bars 4 according to FIG. 2 are now pushed through the slots 2 transversely to the supporting bars 1 to produce the grating. The cross bars are only about half the height of the bearing bars.
The cross bars between the support bars are now pressed in the direction of the arrows P1 in FIG. 2 in the direction of the upper edges of the support bars, the material of the cross bars being pressed directly on both sides of the support bars during pressing in the direction of the arrows P, is held down. The pressing process is maintained until the upper edges of the transverse rods 4 lie in a common plane with those of the bearing rods 1 with the exception of the small gussets 5 , as shown in FIG. 3a can be seen.
As a result of this process, the material is displaced on both sides of the slits 2, forming the gussets 5 and small thickenings 6 are formed (FIG. 4a). In this way, the support and cross bars are pressed together at each crossing point to form a self-retaining connection. The pressing pressure in the sense of the arrows P does not act immediately next to the supporting bars 1 on the cross bars, but at small distances a away from the same, so that the cross bars 4 or the slots 2 even after the pressing fill in less.
This results in small deposits 7 which, however, are practically invisible on the finished grating because on the underside.
A pressing device according to FIG. 5, which is composed of a die 8 and a press punch 9 , can advantageously be used to carry out the described pressing process. The die 8 has two parallel grooves 10 for receiving each a support # tab 1 whose distance from that of the support bars on the finished grating. The width of the grooves 10 is dimensioned so that the support rods 1 can easily enter and exit them.
Lich the grooves 10 are the pressure surfaces 11 which are intended to exert the pressure in the direction of the arrows P1. The pressure surfaces 11 merge through bevels 12 into the grooves 10 , where the distances a are formed during pressing.
The stamp 9 has an essentially flat pressure surface 13 , from which however each a pair of parallel longitudinal ribs 14 with a tooth shape in cross section for pressing down the Support rods 1 protrude adjacent parts of the transverse rods 4 to form the gussets 5 . By means of these longitudinal ribs 14, the connecting points of the rods are pressed together more strongly. Grooves 15 for receiving the upper part of the support rods 1 are formed between the longitudinal ribs 14.
To press the assembled rods 1 and 4, the same are inserted between punch 9 and die 8 , after which with the help of this press device be described for each work process (Arrows P .., in Fig. 5) all connection points along each of two supporting rods can be pressed with the transverse rods. Of course, the pressing device can also have a plurality of grooves 10 and associated longitudinal ribs 14.
It can also be adjustable with respect to the distances between the grooves 10 and the ribs 14, so that it can be used for different distances between the support rods.
The grating produced in this way has the advantage of extraordinary strength against local compressive stress, since on the one hand the upper boundary edges of the support and cross bars lie in a common plane, on the other hand the upper edges of the support bars run through uncut and the cross bars are not slotted are.
As can be seen from the above description, the grating is also very easy to produce in that the slots 2 of the support rods are straight and the distances between the support and cross bars can be selected as desired.
On the outside, the grating can be provided on two or all four edges with an end edge 16 , which essentially consists of an M-profile, which with its one leg 17 the upper one The edge of the rods overlaps and the outer surface of the other leg 18 is intended to rest on the base (not shown) for the grate, the rod ends in recessed slots 19 of the Engage the edge.
For this purpose, the rod ends, like the Fi, g. 3b and 4b show, provided with shoulders 20 and 21 recessed for the legs of the edge, so that the end edge also terminates with the mentioned common plane.
According to FIG. 3b, the rod ends can be cut off in the profile shape of the edge so that the upper edge of the rod is flush with the outer surface of the edge. According to FIG. 4b, however, they can also be cut straight, the outer edges penetrating the slots 19 in the middle area of the profile height after the end edge has been placed on and can now be caulked from the outside at the edge, as indicated at 22 .
