Description
Fig. 2 den Seitenriss zu Fig. 1 und
Fig. 3 ein rechtwinklig abgebogenes isoliertes Rohrstück, in kleinerem Massstab.
Process for the insulation of pipes that conduct cold or warm substances, and pipe insulation produced according to the process
It is known to surround pipes leading to cold or warm substances for the purpose of insulation with a layer of synthetic foam and over the foam one made of a plastic film, e.g. B. a polyvinyl chloride film to put existing coat and to close the longitudinal seam of the film in a suitable manner.
The object of the invention is now a method for the insulation of pipes that conduct cold or hot substances by means of synthetic foam, which is characterized in that the foam surrounding the pipe is provided with a prefabricated plastic jacket pipe which is cut open axially so that it can be spread at the parting line and placed over the foam, whereupon the spreading is canceled again and the parting line is closed.
A tube made of polyvinyl chloride will advantageously be used for the jacket tube surrounding the foam.
The invention also relates to the pipe insulation produced by the method, which is characterized in that a casing pipe made of plastic with a longitudinal parting line is placed over the foam surrounding the pipe in a cylindrical manner, and that a closure means is provided for closing the parting line.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of a pipe insulated using the method according to the invention, namely:
Fig. 1 shows an isolated pipe section, the left half of the figure appears in section,
Fig. 2 shows the side elevation of Fig. 1 and
3 shows an insulated pipe section bent at right angles, on a smaller scale.
1 with a cold or warm substance conductive pipe is referred to; it is surrounded by a layer of synthetic foam 2. The foam is cut out of the roll as it comes on the market and placed around the tube 1. The ends of the foam collide obliquely to the radial and can, for. B. be joined together by gluing or by means of an interposed, double-sided adhesive tape.
A pre-fabricated casing pipe 3 made of plastic, preferably a polyvinyl chloride pipe produced by the extrusion process, is placed on the foam cylindrical around the pipe 1, which is cut open axially at A so that it forms a parting line at which it is spread and placed over the foam 2 can be. After placing the jacket pipe 3 on the foam, the expansion closes again and the parting line at A is then z. B. closed by means of an adhesive tape 4, which can also be made of PVC plastic. Other types and means of closing for closing the parting line are readily conceivable. The parting line of the jacket pipe could also be closed by high-frequency welding or by hot air welding.
Another means would consist in the use of staples, which are enclosed transversely to the parting line A and whose webs could be covered with an adhesive tape.
Since the use of prefabricated casing pipes is particularly suitable for straight-axis pipe sections, pipe bends will advantageously be insulated with a bandage made of plastic tape, as shown in FIG.
