Arrangement of electromagnetic propulsion of a loom shuttle There are known devices for propelling a loom shuttle comprising electromagnets intended to be successively excited, arranged along a path to be made to travel by. shuttle.
To control the successive engagement of these electromagnets, the field of which is closed through the shuttle, generally use is made of distributors. brush and contact keys, in which friction occurs and which is therefore subject to significant wear.
The present invention aims to provide a propulsion device comprising an improved control device free from friction, which is capable of operating silently and without appreciable wear, even at high speeds.
The device which is the subject of the invention, comprising electromagnets arranged along the trajectory of the shuttle and a control device arranged so as to supply these electromagnets in successive order,
is characterized in that this control device comprises a series of photoelectric cells placed in the supply circuits of the various electromagnets so that these.
latter are supplied or not according to the illumination of said cells, and means arranged so as to illuminate said cells according to the position of a movable pilot member, with a view to producing a movement of the shuttle depending on that of said pilot member .
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device which is the subject of the invention.
The device shown, for propelling a loom shuttle, comprises a series of electromagnets 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, ... arranged along a line. circuit to be traversed by a shuttle shown schematically at 2. These electromagnets, placed for example in line above a rectilinear comb, are intended to be successively excited in order to cause the shuttle to pass from one side to the other. the other from the chair, inside a tunnel formed in the comb.
The electromagnets 1 are supplied with rectified current by means of a single-phase bridge rectifier 3 mounted on the secondary of a supply transformer 4. This rectifier comprises four selenium rectifier elements 5 and a capacitor 6 is connected between the output terminals of this rectifier.
The electromagnets 1 are connected in parallel between the two output wires 7 and 8 of the rectifier 3 and their individual power supply is controlled by relays 9cc; 9b, 9c, 9d, ... which each control the circuit of one of the electromagnets.
The windings of the relays 9 are connected in separate circuits 14a, 14b, 14c, ... established between two wires 15 and 16 connected to a current source 17.
The circuits 14 each comprise a photocell and these cells shown at 10a, 10b, Oc, 10d, ... are arranged in an arc of a circle around the axis of rotation of a rotating pilot member 11 which carries a projector 12, the light ray 13 of which is caused to successively scan the various cells 10, during the rotation of the pilot member.
The passage of the light ray 13 over a cell has the effect of making this cell conductive and thus energizing the relay connected in the circuit of the cell, which causes the momentary supply of the corresponding electromagnet ensuring the propulsion. the shuttle,
the movement of the latter thus being dependent on that of the pilot member 11. The device shown makes it possible to give movements of different kinds to the shuttle, depending on the position given to the cells 10 around the axis of rotation of the projector.
With electromagnets 1 regularly distributed along the trajectory of the shuttle, and a pilot member rotating at a constant angular speed (this member being driven from the trade motor for example), it is thus possible to communicate to shuttle one, movement first accelerated, then delayed, by placing the cells around the headlamp with decreasing spacing at the head of the series then with increasing spacing at the end of the series.
Means can also be provided for modifying the movement of the projector, with a view to obtaining various movements of the shuttle.
To control a reciprocating movement of the shuttle, a single projector can be provided with a reciprocating motion, or two projectors rotating in opposite directions and sweeping in turn the series of cells, or even a single projector sweeping in turn two. series of cells arranged in reverse order.
In variants, the cells could also be arranged in line, their intermittent illumination being obtained, for example, as a result of the back and forth movement of a screen animated by an alternating movement and moving between the cells. cells and a light source.
