Abstract
1396081 Piezo-electric generators MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 2 Feb 1973 [4 Feb 1972 16 June 1972] 5341/73 Heading H2A A piezo-electric generator comprises a roller 3 held at one end of a frame 1 and rotatable by operating levers 16, a ball 4 retained in a recess of the roller, and a piezo-electric unit 12 disposed between the ball and the other end of the frame, so that rotation (A) of the roller causes rocking (B) of the unit 12 and consequent compression of piezo-electric elements 8, 9 in the unit. The second (right-hand) end of the unit 12 may bear directly against the tip of an adjusting screw 14 or (Fig. 4) against a second roller and ball arrangement 3<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>1</SP> rotated simultaneously with the first by additional levers 22. The rollerretaining recess(es) in the frame 1 may be elongated (Figs. 7, 8, not shown) so that the roller(s) can move laterally as well as rotating.
