Description

Method of packaging a pasty to semi-liquid mass and packaging obtained by this process It is known to pack portions of a pasty to semi-liquid mass such as, for example, processed cheese or fresh cheese in quadrangular prismatic shells.

It is also known to close such a packaging by means of a similar shell, less deep than the first and, after having folded outwards the parts touching edge to edge, to join them one to the other. other, for example by thermo-adhesive bond, using for this a lique metal film coated with a thermo-adhesive varnish.

A tight seal is thus obtained, at least along the faces of the prism. In the angles, which are generally cut at 45-, this sealing is not ensured.

The method according to the present invention consists in taking two quadrangular prismatic shells, each obtained by folding a qua drangular sheet of material coated with a thermo-adhesive varnish, one of the shells being several times deeper than the other. , which fits exactly in the first, to place the mass to be packed in the deepest shell, to cover it with the other shell by inserting it therein in such a way that, of the faces of said shells being edge to edge , those against which the folds coming from the folding of the angles are folded for one of the shells,

are applied against those of the other shell not comprising the folds, the edge-to-edge welding being obtained by heating the four edges to be joined together by exerting a centripetal lateral pressure on the latter.

The packaging thus obtained is distinguished by the fact that the mass is enclosed between two quadrangular matic shells of material coated with a thermo-adhesive varnish, welded edge to edge and of which the folds of the angles of each of them are folded over its face corresponding to the face of the other shell not exhibiting any folds.

The appended drawing shows an embodiment of the object of the invention and of the implementation of the method, given by way of example.

Fig. 1 shows, in perspective, the shallow quadrangular prismatic shell intended to form the cover, the fold of one of its angles not being folded back.

Fig. 2 is a similar view of the corresponding deep shell, intended to receive the mass to be packaged.

Fig. 3 is a section of the two assembled shells, after filling the first one and while the bonding takes place.

The quadrangular prismatic shell 1 of FIG. 1 is obtained by folding a quadrangular sheet of material coated with an iron-on varnish. The folding method is known per se, it results in triangular folds 2 in the corners, which are folded over the side faces, as shown in 3 and 4. The fold 2 will therefore be folded back, against the outside. laughing of the lateral face 5.

The dimensions of this shell are such that it fits exactly into the shell 6, several times deeper, of FIG. 2.

This is obtained identically to the previous one. The figure shows a corner fold 7 not folded down on one side and a fold 8 folded down. Fold 7 will be folded over on the same side in the direction of arrow 9.

Thus, and with respect to the positions drawn, the folds of the shell of FIG. 1 are folded back on the outside of the left and right side faces, and for the shell of FIG. 2, outside the anterior and posterior faces.

If we now fit the shell 1 or cover in the shell 6 or container in the direction of arrow 10, we see that the corner folds of the two shells do not overlap. In this way, one avoids having to subsequently bring together parts having six superimposed thicknesses.

Fig. 3 shows the packaging about to be finished, either during the meeting of the parts to be connected together.

In a cell 11 is the deep shell 12, filled with mass 13 to be packaged.

From above, the shallow shell 14 constitutes the cover, into which a heating punch 15 is introduced.

The edge to edge parts of the two shells are finally clamped against the punch by clamping plates 16 and 17, on the outer side. There will be some on all four sides. For example, long ones will be placed along two opposite sides, exceeding them, and two others against the remaining sides and presenting exactly the length. This results in a completed packaging with absolute sealing.

When the mass 13 is, for example, melted cheese, which can withstand heat, a punch 15 can be provided which fills the shell 14, without necessarily heating it over its entire height.

In the case of fromage frais, on the contrary, the action of heat should be avoided.

This is what fig. 3, where we see that the punch 15 does not penetrate the bottom of the shell 14, but leaves an air cushion 18. In addition to that, its lower face is insulated at 19, for example by a sheet asbestos.

We could also heat the plates, instead of the punch.

The finished packaging, that is to say thermally glued, is waterproof. The gathered edges can be folded over on its upper face. They also make it easier to open the packaging, which is easy to tear by grabbing them.
