  Beheizte Schweissrolle zum Verschweissen von Kunststoff-Folien
Die Erfindung betrifft eine beheizte Schweissrolle zum kontinuierlichen Verschweissen von Kunststoff Folien, thermolackierten Materialien und dergleichen.



   Solche beheizte Schweissrollen sind in der Verpackungsmaschinenindustrie bereits bekannt. Sie dienen zur kontinuierlichen Herstellung von dichten Schweissnähten an Packungen der genannten Art. Die bisher bekannt gewordenen Schweissrollen enthielten eine rotierende elektrische Heizwicklung, welche für die Stromzuführung die Verwendung von Schleifringen und Bürsten notwendig machte, was oft zu Störungen infolge Verschmutzung und Verschleiss dieser Teile und damit zu unerwünschten Betriebsunterbrüchen führte.



   Bei der Schweissrolle nach der vorliegenden Erfindung sind diese Mängel behoben. Die Wärmezufuhr erfolgt durch einen in einer Ausnehmung der rotierbaren Rolle angeordneten, ruhenden, elektrischen Infrarot-Strahlkörper. Die Stromzufuhr benötigt dadurch keinerlei bewegliche und aufeinandergleitende Teile, und die Schweissrolle bedarf keiner Wartung.



   In der Zeichnung ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung dargestellt.



   Auf einer von der nicht   dargestellten Verpackungs-    maschine angetriebenen, rotierenden Welle 1 ist eine Schweissrolle 2 befestigt, die an ihrem Umfang eine gerillte Oberfläche 3 aufweist, wie dies für die auszuführende Arbeit erforderlich ist. Die Oberfläche 3 arbeitet mit der entsprechenden Oberfläche einer zweiten, nicht gezeichneten Gegenrolle zusammen, und das Verschweissen der Folien erfolgt auf bekannte Weise dadurch, dass diese zwischen den Oberflächen 3 durchgeführt werden. Die Rolle 2 weist eine ringförmige, durch die Wände 5 begrenzte Ausnehmung auf.

   In dieser ist ein an sich bekannter, ringförmiger, elektrisch beheizter Infrarot-Strahlkörper 6 angeordnet, der die Rotation der Rolle nicht mitmacht, sondern auf nicht näher dargestellte Weise mittels der metallischen Stromzuführungsleitung   6' an    einem ruhenden Teil der Verpackungsmaschine befestigt ist.



  Der   Strahlkörper    6 ist über die Leitungen   6' und    7 an einer elektrischen Stromquelle angeschlossen. Die vom Strahlkörper 6 erzeugte Wärme wird durch Strahlung an die Wände 5 der Schweissrolle übertragen. Diese sind zur Verbesserung der Wärmeaufnahmefähigkeit zweckmässigerweise leicht aufgerauht und geschwärzt. Zur Verminderung von Strahlungsverlusten ist die Öffnung der Ausnehmung durch einen ringförmigen Metallspiegel 8 abgedeckt, der die auftreffende Infrarotstrahlung zurückspiegelt. Dieser Metallspiegel 8 ist beispielsweise an der Stromzuführungsleitung 6'befestigt. Um Wärmeverluste der Schweissrolle durch Abstrahlung nach Möglichkeit zu vermeiden, ist die äussere Stirnfläche 4 der Schweissrolle zweckmässig poliert ausgeführt.  



   PATENTANSPRUCH
Beheizte Schweissrolle zum kontinuierlichen Verschweissen von Kunststoff-Folien und thermolackierten Materialien, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Wärmezufuhr durch einen, in einer Ausnehmung der rotierbaren Rolle angeordneten, ruhenden, elektrischen Infrarot-Strahlkörper (6) erfolgt.

The invention relates to a heated welding roller for the continuous welding of plastic foils, thermo-lacquered materials and the like.



   Such heated welding rollers are already known in the packaging machine industry. They are used for the continuous production of tight welds on packs of the type mentioned. The previously known welding rollers contained a rotating electrical heating coil, which made the use of slip rings and brushes necessary for the power supply, which often leads to disruptions due to contamination and wear of these parts and thus led to undesirable business interruptions.



   With the welding roller according to the present invention, these deficiencies are eliminated. The heat is supplied by a stationary, electric infrared radiator arranged in a recess in the rotatable roller. As a result, the power supply does not require any moving parts that slide on one another, and the welding roller does not require any maintenance.



   An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing.



   A welding roller 2 is attached to a rotating shaft 1 driven by the packaging machine, not shown, which has a grooved surface 3 on its circumference, as is necessary for the work to be performed. The surface 3 works together with the corresponding surface of a second, not shown, counter-roller, and the foils are welded in a known manner in that they are carried out between the surfaces 3. The roller 2 has an annular recess delimited by the walls 5.

   In this a known, ring-shaped, electrically heated infrared radiator 6 is arranged, which does not take part in the rotation of the roll, but is attached to a stationary part of the packaging machine in a manner not shown by means of the metallic power supply line 6 '.



  The radiator 6 is connected to an electrical power source via the lines 6 'and 7. The heat generated by the radiant body 6 is transmitted to the walls 5 of the welding roller by radiation. These are appropriately slightly roughened and blackened to improve the heat absorption capacity. To reduce radiation losses, the opening of the recess is covered by an annular metal mirror 8, which reflects back the incident infrared radiation. This metal mirror 8 is, for example, attached to the power supply line 6 ′. In order to avoid heat losses from the welding roller through radiation as far as possible, the outer end face 4 of the welding roller is expediently made polished.
