Method for producing a centrifugal pump impeller The invention relates to a method for producing a centrifugal pump impeller and a centrifugal pump impeller produced by this method.
The method according to the invention consists in inserting at least one essentially disc-shaped core made of metal in a divisible casting mold, which has openings in the shape of the impeller blades to be produced, and in the remaining cavity of the mold on both sides of the core and in its perforations a solidifiable,
Fills against an acid-resistant mass, after solidification of the mass takes the same out of the mold with the core contained therein and finally etches out the core by means of an acid, so that instead of the core, flow paths for the medium to be pumped are created.
A core made of light metal is preferably used. A centrifugal pump impeller manufactured according to the method according to the invention is characterized according to the invention essentially in that one is used to reinforce the pump wheel. serving metallic hub body is completely coated on the outside with an acid-proof mass and the impeller blades consist entirely of acid-proof mass.
In the drawing, the invention is illustrated purely in example.
Fig. 1 shows an axial section through a casting press mold with two inserted, later etched away metal cores and a hub body serving to reinforce the pump impeller to be produced, Fig. 2 is a plan view of part of a core that can be etched away, Fig. 3 shows in the The two-stage pump impeller produced according to FIG. 1 in an axial section,
Fig. 4 is a cross section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 3, Fig. 5 shows in axial section a single-stage pump impeller, which has also been made in an analogous manner ago.
The divisible mold shown in Fig. 1 consists of two metal rings 11 and 12 and two metal end plates 13 and 14. The lower end plate 13 is centered with the help of a few locating pins 15 with respect to the mold ring 11 and releasably attached to this by means of screws 16. In an analogous manner, the other shaped ring 12 is centered with the aid of dowel pins 17 with respect to the plate 14 and releasably fastened to the same by means of screws 18 BE.
The molded ring 12 can be pushed into the other molded ring 11 from above until the top plate 14 rests on the molded ring 11. Then the position of all parts of the form 11-14 is determined against each other.
When the mold is open, that is, when the upper end plate 14 with the attached mold ring 12 is lifted, a multi-stepped retaining mandrel 19 is first inserted coaxially into the lower mold ring 11. This mandrel 19 has a conically tapered collar 20 on the outside, which is located in a conical recess of the.
Form ring 11 centered. A core 21 made of light metal, preferably an aluminum alloy, is then used, which is essentially disk-shaped and has a neck 22 surrounding the mandrel 19 and seated on its collar 20.
A metal body 23 is then pushed onto the mandrel 19, which is intended to form the hub body which serves to reinforce the pump impeller to be produced. By means of the mandrel 19, the hub body 23 is fastened in a floating manner in the form 11-14, that is to say the hub body is nowhere brought into contact with the form 11-14.
A second, essentially also disk-shaped core 24 made of aluminum is then inserted into the molded ring 11, the peripheral edge of the core 24 being supported on an inner step 25 of the molded ring 11. Finally, the mold is closed by placing the mold ring 12 and the end plate 14 from. A central neck 26 of the core 24 then protrudes into a corresponding recess in the end plate 14.
Both essentially disk-shaped cores 21 and 24 are provided with several slot-shaped openings, which have the shape of the impeller blades to be bil Denden and have a spiral curve, as clearly shown in FIG. 2 for the core 24. The openings of the other Ker nes 21 are formed the same.
A hardening, acid-resistant plastic compound is then poured into the remaining cavities of the mold 11 to 14 on both sides of the cores 21 and 24, around the hub body 23 and into the openings 27, for example by leaving the plastic compound in a viscous liquid state Pressure is injected into the mold from below through an opening that is not shown, while the air present in the cavities of the mold can escape upwards through ventilation openings, also not shown.
A polymerizable synthetic resin, for example, is used as the plastic compound, which hardens either at normal room temperature or when heated by polymerization. After manufacturing the mass, the same with the cores 21, 24 and the hub body 23 is removed from the mold.
Instead of injecting in a viscous state, the plastic compound can also be poured into the mold 11-14 in excess layers in a plastic or powdered state, while the cores 21 and 24 and the hub body 23 are being built. When the mold 1l-14 is closed while the filled mass is pressed, it is heated so that the plastic mass becomes homogeneous, polymerized and hardened during the subsequent cooling.
In a similar way, during the installation of the cores 21 and 24 and the hub body 23, the remaining cavities of the mold can be filled in excess with raw rubber material, the end plate 14 can then be pressed onto the mold ring 11 under high pressure and the rubber material can be pre-vulcanized in the mold. When the compact with the metal parts 21, 23 and 24 has been removed from the mold,
the rubber material has to be fully vulcanized so that it is converted into hard rubber.
In all the cases described, the cores 21 and 24 and the hub body 23 are permanently embedded in the plastic compound. Only the form 11-14 can be removed from the workpiece, whereupon the mandrel 19 can also be pulled out. After the bore of the hub body 23 has been closed liquid-tight from a rubber stopper or the like, the workpiece is placed in a corrosive acid, e.g. B. hydrochloric acid, which is not able to attack the plastic, but is able ;; is to completely etch out the metallic cores 21 and 24.
Instead of the metallic core material, hollow flow paths are created for a medium that is later to be promoted by means of the pump wheel. Since the hub body 23 is completely surrounded on the outside with plastic and the acid cannot penetrate into the bore of the hub body either, the latter is completely removed from the influence of the etching acid.
In order to complete the pump wheel, its peripheral part is turned down to the outer ends of the blades 30 and the axial end faces of the wheel are also reworked. Further reworking of the pump wheel is not necessary.
The finished pump impeller is illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4. As can be seen, the outside of the hub body 23 is completely covered with a plastic layer 31. On both axial end faces of the hub body 23, impeller blades 30 made of synthetic material are present, which blades have been shaped by means of the openings 27 in the cores 21 and 24. The blades are located between guide surfaces made of plastic compound, one of which is covered by the aforementioned coating 31 and the other by plastic body 32 baw. 33 are formed.
All of the blades 30, the coating 31 and the body 32 and 33 consist of a single, coherent piece of plastic.
According to a variant of the production process described, the remaining cavity of the mold 11-14 can be filled with glass fiber material while the cores 21 and 24 and the hub body 23 are being installed, and the plastic mass can then be pressed in a liquid state under pressure into the interstices of the fiber material . In this way, you get a reinforcement of the plastic mass with glass fibers, whereby a greater strength of the pump impeller he is aiming.
While the pump wheel shown in Fig. 3 and 4 is intended for a two-stage centrifugal pump, Fig.5 shows an embodiment of an impeller for a single-stage centrifugal pump. This wheel, which has blades 30 only on one axial end face of the hub body 23a, can also be produced in a completely analogous manner and using the same mold 11-14, but instead of the one core 21 an additional, not shown, mold ring in the ring 11 is inserted.
The outside of the hub body 23a is also completely provided with a coating 31a of plastic compound. The blades 31 are also located between guide surfaces, which are formed on the one hand by the coating 31 a and on the other hand by a plastic section 32. The blades 30, the L \ berzug 31a and, the, part 32 together consist of a single piece of plastic.
A major advantage of the described manufacturing method is that the blades and flow paths of the pump wheel can be given any desired shape and curvature.
Another great advantage is that the surfaces of the flow paths and blades do not require any post-processing after the cores 21 and 24 have been etched out and, because of their smoothness, allow an efficiency of the pump wheel that is considerably higher than that which is softer with manually rubberized pump wheels is achieved. The efficiency of the pump wheels described is actually approximately the same as that measured with pump wheels made entirely of metal.
