Drain valve on washbasins The present invention is a drain valve on washbasins, which has a valve body which can be lifted off from a conical seat surface with a shaft arranged in an approximately cylindrical housing protruding vertically downward from the washbasin.
The known drain valves of this type are usually operated by rotary handles, which are mounted on the washing table top, in the area of the other fittings, and which are in action connection by means of a multi-part linkage with the shaft of the valve body.
In contrast, the present invention not only allows the top of the washbasin to be kept free from the operating handle of the drain valve, but also eliminates the relatively complicated linkage, which is usually prone to failure.
According to the invention, the drain valve is characterized in that the lower end part of the valve body shaft carries a transverse pin which engages in a helical groove of a sleeve rotatably seated on the housing, to which a lever is attached to rotate the sleeve and thus to raise and lower the valve body is located under the vanity.
In the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in vertical section.
In the drawing, 1 is the bottom of a wash table in which the drain valve is inserted. In a through hole in the bottom 1, an approximately cylindrical valve housing 2, 15, 2a is attached, which protrudes vertically downward from the washing table bottom 1. On the upper housing part 2, a valve seat 3 is screwed, which is inserted into the enlarged and outwardly strongly conical Auslau Fenden end part of the bore of the vanity unit 1. On the conical seat of the Ven tilsitzes 3 is the outwardly curved plate 4 of a liftable Ven tilkörpers 5. The valve body 5 sits on the upper end part of a threaded bolt Ven tilschaftes 6, which protrudes in the housing part 2 downwards.
The lower housing part is formed by a pipe section 2 a which is detachably screwed onto the upper housing section 2. In the middle housing part 15, two diametrically opposite longitudinal slots 7 are provided. A rotating sleeve 8 is arranged above these slots 7. This rotating sleeve 8 has on the inside in the area of each of the slots 7 a helical groove 9 with a large pitch. At the lower end of the valve stem 6, an end piece 10 is attached, which is carried by a cross pin 11 protruding on both sides through the slots 7 and in which grooves 9 engaging in opposite directions.
The threaded end part of an actuating lever 13 with a handle knob 14 is screwed into an outer eye 12 of the rotary sleeve 8. The length of this horizontally lying under the vanity lever 13 is chosen so that it can be pivoted in a horizontal plane by the user of the vanity without any particular effort.
As can be easily seen, a pivoting of the lever 13 in one direction or the other results in a rotation of the sleeve 8, with the transverse pin 11 guided in the slots 7 of the housing part 15 sliding up or down in the grooves 9; this has a lifting or lowering of the valve body 5 and thus an opening BEZW. Closing the drain valve as a result.
The particular advantages of this valve are its compact design and direct actuation with the elimination of a complicated linkage; the top of the washbasin remains free of fittings, which is not only preferable for aesthetic reasons, but also does not require any corresponding openings in the washbasin body with associated assembly work.
