Machine for cutting conical and / or cylindrical threads The invention relates to a machine for cutting conical and / or cylindrical threads, with a thread cutting head arranged on a rotatable and longitudinally displaceable hollow shaft and with a thread guide device. The invention has for its object to provide a control device for the cutting jaws, through which the cutting jaws are controlled radially back depending on the longitudinal feed, abgeho ben at the end of threading and are brought back into working position when the cutting head is moved back into the starting position. The control device should be arranged covered and protected.
The invention consists in that the setting ring of the thread cutting head is coupled to a control sleeve surrounding the hollow shaft, which is provided with a control cam in which a control nose that rotates with the hollow shaft but is secured against axial displacement engages, so that the nose when the control sleeve is longitudinally displaced the guide device causes a rotation of the control sleeve relative to the hollow shaft and thereby induces or can lead to a rotation of the adjusting ring for adjusting or lifting the cutting jaws.
According to a preferred embodiment, the control nose is arranged on a wedge which is inserted into a longitudinal groove of the hollow shaft and which engages with a nose in an annular recess in the housing or in the housing cover.
Furthermore, a nose can be arranged at the rear end of the hollow shaft, which interacts with a pin that rotates a cylindrical bolt, the cam of which lifts the guide nut part of the guide device, so that the guide device works itself at the end of the thread cutting in clockwise or counterclockwise rotation is disengaged.
In order to be able to switch the machine quickly from the tapered cut to the cylindrical cut and vice versa, a clamping device can be provided according to another embodiment, which can be used to cut a tapered thread with a sliding block of the control sleeve, but to cut a cylindrical one Thread can be connected to the hollow shaft through a further recess in the control sleeve.
So that the cutting process can also be interrupted at any time, an inter mediate ring coupled to the setting ring by means of a quick adjustment device is expediently provided between the control sleeve and the setting ring of the Ge thread cutting head.
In the drawing, the thread cutting machine according to the invention is shown, for example, in two embodiments, namely show: Fig. 1 is a vertical section through the machine of the first embodiment, set up for cutting the cylindrical threads, the section through the cutting head according to line II of the FIG. 3 is guided, with the cutting head and thread guide device in the initial position as it is given at the beginning of thread cutting, FIG. 2 shows a horizontal section along line 11-1I of FIG.
1, with the cutting head and thread guide device in the end position as it is at the end of thread cutting, FIG. 3 shows a front view of the thread cutting head with the cutting jaws in the starting position according to FIG. 1, FIG. 4 shows a front view of the thread cutting head the cutting jaws in the end position according to FIG. 2, FIG. 5 shows a top view of a control sleeve to be used when cutting conical threads, FIG. 6 shows a top view of the thread guide device.
7 shows a section along line VII-VII in FIG. 1, FIGS. 8 and 9 sections in the same plane, but with different positions of the lifting devices for the guide nut part.
Fig. 10 is a vertical section through the cutting head and other parts of the second Ausführungsbei game of the machine, Fig. 11 is a section along line XI-XI of Fig. 10, Fig. 12 is a section along line XII-XII of Fig. 11, Fig 13 shows a section along line XIII-XIII in FIG. 12 and FIG. 14 shows a plan view of an individual part of the machine.
The housing 1 of the thread cutting machine according to FIGS. 1 to 9 has a bearing bore 2 at the front and a bearing bore 3 at the rear, which is closed by a cover 4 attached to the housing 1 with screws.
In the bore 2 a sleeve 5 is rotatably and longitudinally displaceably mounted, on which a gear 6 is firmly keyed. In the bore of the sleeve 5 sits, for example detachably connected to it by a pin 7, a hollow shaft 8, which leaves a cylindrical cavity at the front opposite the sleeve 5 and is rotatably and longitudinally displaceable in its rear part in a bore 4a of the cover 4.
On the front end face of the hollow shaft 8 of the cutting jaw body 9 of a thread cutting head is attached. This body has, for example, radial guides for cutting jaws 12. Of course, jaws from other systems can also be used with appropriate adaptation. From closed the guide body with the ra dial slidable jaws 12 by a cover 10. Screws 11 hold the cover 10, the guide body 9 and the hollow shaft 8 together to form a closed unit.
On the cutting jaw body 9, the setting ring 14 for the cutting jaws is mounted rotatably bar, which engages with control grooves 13 in the pins or lugs of the cutting jaws to control the cutting jaws in the desired positions when the setting ring 14 is rotated.
In the cylindrical cavity between the sleeve 5 and the hollow shaft 8 is the control sleeve 15. It has on the front end a Ausspa tion 16 (Fig. 5), in which a sliding block 17 of a fixed clamping device of the setting ring 14 for the cutting jaws 12 sits. A slot 20 on the cylindrical jacket of the setting ring 14 is penetrated by a screw 18, which engages the sliding block 17 with its thread and sits outside in a cylinder bore of a pressure piece 19.
Slider 17, screw 18 and pressure piece 19 can not be rotated relative to the control sleeve 15, however, it is possible after loosening the screw 18 to turn the A setting ring 14 until the cutting jaws 12 have reached the desired diameter position; then the screw 18 is to be tightened, whereby the sliding block 17 and the pressure piece 19 are again pressed firmly onto the setting ring 14. This creates a releasable coupling between the control sleeve 15 and the adjusting ring 14 for the cutting jaws ge.
The control sleeve 15 has a control cam 21 (Fig. 2). A control wedge 22 is located in a wedge guide on the outer circumference of the hollow shaft 8, so that both the sleeve 5 with the gear 6 and the hollow shaft 8 firmly connected to these parts, together with the control sleeve 15, can move in the longitudinal direction under or over it. A control nose 23 of the control wedge 22 engages in the control cam 21 of the control sleeve 15. Another nose 24 of the control wedge lies in an annular recess 25 of the cover 4 so that the nose 24 can rotate in this annular groove when the control wedge 22 rotates with the hollow shaft 8 when it rotates.
This nose 24 prevents the control wedge 22 from longitudinal displacement when the parts 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14 and 15 are both rotated and moved longitudinally forward according to the thread before thrust during thread cutting. The control nose 23 of this rotating, but not longitudinally shifting control wedge 22 takes the control sleeve 15 over the greater part of the displacement path of those parts in synchronicity with the hollow shaft 8 when, as shown in Figure 1, the curve 21 to the greater Part runs in a straight line in the longitudinal direction of a surface line of the control sleeve 15. This is the case when cutting cylindrical threads.
For a tapered thread, a control sleeve with .einer control cam 21 is used, the main part of which does not run in the direction of a surface line, but is inclined to it, as shown in FIG. Corresponding to this inclined course of the control cam 21, the control sleeve 15 will execute a relative movement with respect to the hollow shaft 8, which is transmitted via the sliding block 17 and the clamping device 18:19 to the setting ring 14 and via its control cam 13 also to the cutting jaws 12. The cutting jaws 12 are controlled back in accordance with the taper of the tapered thread to be cut, as long as the control nose 23 is in the less inclined part 21a of the control cam.
If the control lug 23 occurs in the more strongly bent from part 21b of the cam 21, then whoever pulls back the cutting jaws from the cut Ge thread.
In FIG. 1, the control nose 23 of the control wedge 22 is located at the beginning of the curve 21, in FIG. 2 there is at the end of the control curve 21 in the part 21b. In this position, the cutting jaws are lifted. However, it can also be seen that if the cutting jaw body 9 with the parts 8, 5, 6, 14, 15 partly connected to it, partly coupled to it, is pushed back, then the jaws are also returned to the initial position, because yes, the control lug 23 causes a relative movement of the control sleeve 15, which is transferred to the adjustment ring 14.
The gear wheel 6 has an annular groove into which a Ga bel of a lever 37 engages, which can be operated from the outside with a handle lever 38. By pivoting the lever 38, the gear 6 and the parts coupled to it, including the cutting head, can be moved in the longitudinal direction when the thread guide device to be described is disengaged. If a thread guide device is not used for inevitably cutting the thread, it would be conceivable to press the cutting head against the workpiece to be cut by means of the lever 38 until it has cut and can then continue to move.
The machine also has a thread guide device.
The rear end of the hollow shaft 8 has a cylin drical pin 39 which is firmly connected to the shaft 8 by screws 40. A guide cartridge 41 is mounted on this pin. The end of the pin 39 protruding beyond the guide cartridge is designed as a square 46a onto which a crank can be placed. As a result, the hollow shaft 8 can be driven directly.
The end cover 4 has an eye protruding to the rear with a vertical flat guide 27 (FIG. 6) which is closed by a cover 29. In this flat guide fits an identically designed lead nut part 28, which has threads at its lower end that mesh into the lead cartridge 41. At its upper end, the part 28 has an overlapping nose 30 which rests on a cam 35 of a lifting device. The cam 35 is arranged at one end of a cylindrical bolt 31, which is rotatably mounted in a bore 32 in the rearwardly protruding eye of the cover 4. At the other end, the bolt 31 has a pin 33.
At the rear end of the hollow shaft 8, a nose 34 is seated on the collar of the pin 39 and rotates with the hollow shaft 8. If the hollow shaft 8 together with the cutting head carrying it is displaced forwards, the nose 34 which rotates with it strikes the pin 33 towards the end of the working process. If the shaft rotates, looking at the machine from behind, in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 7, the pin 33 is knocked out to the right and the cam 35 of the cylindrical bolt 31 lifts the guide nut part upwards.
The process in the opposite direction of rotation is shown in FIG. In this case too, the cam 35 lifts the guide nut part upwards. 9 corresponds to the working position of the guide nut part, i.e. H. the position in which this part is in a handle with the guide cartridge 41 is. It can be seen that this lifting device is effective both when the machine or the cutting head is running counterclockwise and clockwise.
The cam 35 is designed so that the Bol zen 31 and the lead nut part 28 in the abgeho enclosed position of the latter corresponding to persist position in which they are brought through the nose 34 and the Zap fen 33 at the end of the operation are the. This means so much that the cutting head can be moved back to the rear starting position immediately after thread cutting. Only when the bolt 31 is brought into the position according to FIG. 9 by hand with the lever 36 does the guide nut part 28 again engage with the guide cartridge 41.
In the base of the housing 1, a long drive pinion 42 is mounted, on the shaft of which another gear 43 is seated. On a further shaft 44, a sliding wheel block 45 is superimposed with two wheels GE, which can be coupled directly to the wheel 42 or to the wheel 43, respectively. This makes it possible to drive the wheel 6 at different speeds. The protruding end of the shaft 44 is designed as a square 46. A hand crank can be placed on this square if the machine is to be operated by hand. But it is also possible to couple this end with a drive unit that is driven by engine power.
The process of cutting a conical thread is as follows: The screw 18 is loosened, the adjusting ring 14 is rotated until the cutting jaws 12 have reached the desired position. Then the screw 18 is tightened. The cutting head is in the starting position as shown in FIG. Now the machine is driven either with the square 46 or the square 46a. The hollow shaft 8 together with the remaining parts 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15 is moved forward by the threaded guide device 28, 41. The wedge 22 is only rotated, but does not move forward.
The jaws begin to open steadily under the control action of the device 23, 15 (Fig. 5), 17, 14 according to the taper of the thread to be cut, and at the end they are lifted off. At the end of the threading process, the lead nut part28 is also lifted off. You can immediately return the cutting head to the starting position with the lever 38, while the cutting jaws close again; only the lever 36 needs to be turned over and the guide nut part 28 is again in engagement with the guide cartridge 41. A new operation can begin.
In a departure from the previously described embodiment, the control sleeve 15 of the embodiment shown in FIGS. 10 to 14 also has a second recess 61 (FIGS. 13 and 14). Also between the clamping device consisting of the pressure piece 19 and screw 18 and the adjusting ring 14 for the cutting jaws ele elements for a quick adjustment are also switched on. These deviations are explained in more detail below.
The cutting jaw body 9 has a cylin drical turning 47 on which an intermediate ring 48 is rotatably mounted, which with its hub 49 includes the front part of the control sleeve 15. The intermediate ring 48 rests with a flat surface 50 on the bottom surface 51 of the adjusting ring 14. In a bore 52 of the intermediate ring, an axis 53 is mounted, on the rear protruding pin 54 sits a hand lever 55 with which a disc 56 can be rotated ver. An eccentric pin 56 ′, offset from the axis of the disk 56 by a certain eccentricity, engages in a radial slot 57 on the bottom surface 51 of the adjusting ring 14.
By rotating the axis 53 with the aid of the lever 55, the setting ring 14 can be given a rotary movement who is transmitted via the control grooves 13 to the cutting jaws 12. The rapid adjustment created by this has the advantage that the cutting jaws can be opened and closed during any phase of the work process.
The clamping device 18, 19 acts on the hub 49 of the intermediate ring 48. A slot 20 in the hub 49 is penetrated by the screw 18, which engages the sliding block 17 with its thread and sits outside in the cylinder bore of the pressure piece 19. The end of the screw 18 protruding beyond the sliding block 17 engages in a recess 59 (FIG. 11) in the hollow shaft. This recess 59 allows a rotational movement of the Festspannvorrich device and the parts connected to it relative to the hollow shaft B.
After loosening the screw 18, it is possible to turn the intermediate ring 48. Since the Exzenterzap fen 56 'of the quick adjustment device 53-57 engages in the radial slot 57 of the adjusting ring 14, when turning the intermediate ring 48 of the A setting ring 14 is rotated. As a result, the cutting jaws 12 are controlled in the desired diameter position. When adjusting the cutting jaws be the eccentric is in its one end position or closed position. After completion of the setting, the screw 18 is tightened, whereby the sliding block 17 and the pressure piece 19 are firmly pressed against the hub 49 of the inter mediate ring 48. When cutting, the cutting jaws are controlled by the inclined control cam 21 (FIG. 14) so that a tapered thread is created.
This effect is achieved because the control lug 23 of the control wedge housed in the hollow shaft 8 on its outer periphery engages in the control cam 21, which has already been described in detail for the first embodiment. To convert the machine to cutting cylindrical threads, the following arrangement is made: the hollow shaft 8 has, in addition to the recess 59, a threaded hole 60 (Fig. 11), the control sleeve 15 has a second recess 61 on the end face (Figs. 13 and 14 ). The recess 61 is similar to the recess 16, the only difference being that recess 61 is longer in the circumferential direction and does not contain a sliding block.
For the transition from a conical cut to a cylindrical cut, the screw 18 is unscrewed from the sliding block 17. The screw 18 and its pressure piece 19 are rotated to the left on the hub 49 (FIG. 11) until the screw 18 lies above the threaded hole 60. At this point there is also the recess 61 of the control sleeve 15. Now the screw is set and screwed into the threaded hole 60. As a result, the intermediate ring 48 is clamped directly to the hollow shaft 8 via the pressure piece 19. Since the setting ring 14 is also firmly connected to the hollow shaft 8. Although the control sleeve 15 is also rotated relative to the shaft 8 by the nose 23 and the control cam 21, it has no effect on the setting ring 14.
After loosening the screw 18, the intermediate ring 48 can also be rotated in the position for the cut of cylindrical thread and the setting ring 14 for controlling the cutting jaws to the desired opening or closing position can be rotated accordingly on an adjustment scale via the quick adjustment device stored in it.
Since the clamping device 18, 19 is accessible from the outside and is within the operator's grip area; the machine according to the second embodiment example can be set quickly and easily from a tapered section to a cylindrical section and vice versa.
The clamping device for the workpieces is not shown and described, since this device may be assumed to be known and is not required to understand the invention.
