Small container for drying laundry using warm air The invention relates to a small container for drying laundry using warm air. It is already known to introduce warm air into large containers or entire drying rooms for the purpose of rapid drying of the wet laundry hung therein. Recently, washing machines have been developed and made cheaper in such a way that such a machine is used for small laundry in almost every apartment.
Drying the washed laundry is a major problem, despite the familiarity of small centrifuges.
This problem is solved by means of the present small container in that the laundry can be dried quickly in a small space. According to the invention, it is characterized in that a device for supplying hot air is placed in its upper part and that at least one side of its lower part has a gap opening with a smooth rim that has no baffles to hinder the air flow.
The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment example of the subject matter of the invention, namely FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the container opened for laundry insert, FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the closed container and the hot air supply, and FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the heating coil arrangement.
In the container 1 there is the parallelogram-shaped linkage 2 and 3, which carries a laundry hanging device 3 which can be swiveled out and to which the container wall 4 is fastened. When the wall 4 is pivoted out, it remains in its vertical position, while the laundry hanging device remains horizontal thanks to the parallelogram-shaped rods 2 and 3.
When the container is closed, the side wall 4 does not quite reach the bottom of the container 1, so that a horizontally lying slot opening 5 is created, from which the air can escape undisturbed. In the two side walls adjacent to the wall 4, smaller slots 6 are arranged near the bottom, which also serve for the air outlet, but especially the air distribution in the container.
The upper end wall 7 of the container, which is located below the lid 8 at a distance used for air supply and is slightly inclined, has in its center a cylindrical opening 9 which extends into the interior of the container and which is closed at the top by means of wire mesh 10 and in which, in addition to a fan wheel 11, there is also an electrical heating coil 12. As shown in FIG. 3, the heating coil 12 can be stretched on insulation bars arranged in a star shape.
Tests have shown that this arrangement of heating spirals offers the great advantage over the attachment of heating rods that the air flowing through is better heated and the heating elements do not overheat.
After hanging the laundry on the pulled out hanger this is swiveled into the loading container, whereby the container is closed except for the lower slots 5, 6 and the opening 9. The fan now sucks dry air into the container through the opening 9, which air is warmed by the heating coils 12 and sweeps along the laundry down to the slots 5, 6, where the moisture-saturated air flows out. The slots 6 ensure that the heated air is distributed over the entire container.
In order to obtain a good air flow, the slot 5 must be made clean and not have any baffles; in particular, the bottom surface must not have any upstanding part directed towards the slot 5. The entire container can be insulated by inserting a heat-insulating layer in order to reduce the radiation of heat to the outside.
