Watch case containing a source of electricity disposed in an internal recess of the back The object of the present invention is a watch case containing a source of electricity arranged in an internal recess of the back, closed by a sealed cover separating said source. movement. This box is characterized by the fact that this cover comprises a conductive disc engaged via its central part with one of the poles of the source and whose periphery is connected to an elastic contact carried by the movement.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, four embodiments of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is an axial section of the first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is one of the second. Fig. 3 one of the third.
Fig. 4 is a plan view of a detail of the third embodiment, FIG. 5 being a V-V cut of the fia. 4. FIG. 6 is an axial section of the fourth embodiment.
The first embodiment comprises a caseband 1, carrying a bezel 2 and a crystal 3, a dial 4 and a casing ring 5 surrounding the movement 6. The back of the case consists of a crown 7 forming the body of the watch. back and screwed to the middle 1 and by a disc 8 screwed to the crown 7, this disc 8 having a recess 9 in which a battery 10 is placed; 11 being one of the poles of said battery. The numbers 12 and 13 indicate two circular joints; 14 is a spring intended to wedge the casing circle 5 between the staves of the middle 1 and the back 7.
The recess 9 is sealed by a metal cover 14a in the form of a disc in contact with the pole 11 and which has a rim 14b facing the bottom, this rim surrounding the rim 9a of the disc 8. A layer of non-material. conductor 17 covers the upper surface of cover 14a and isolates it from movement. A Plexiglas seal 15 (registered trademark) arranged between the rim 14b of the cover and the crown 7 serves as an insulator.
Finally, the elastic contact 16 connects via the rim 14b of the cover the pole 11 of the battery 10 to an insulated terminal of an electric bulb or of a dampness device not shown in the drawing, the other terminal being in contact by the movement and the box with the other pole of the stack. The central part of the disc 14a is thinner than its peripheral part; it can therefore be elastically deformed by a small amount which allows it to absorb the variations in height of the pole 11.
In the box described, the battery is perfectly isolated from movement both from an electrical point of view and with regard to its possible emanations. The construction described also makes it possible to change the battery very simply by unscrewing the disc 8 and screwing it in again. The battery could be replaced by an accumulator.
In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the recess 9 is sealed by a non-conductive plate 18 engaged in an opening 19 of the crown. A sheet of insulating material 20 covers the plate 18 as well as the periphery of the orifice of the crown in which said plate is engaged thus isolating the crown from the movement. Said sheet 20 is itself covered with a flat metal disc 21 connected via a conductor 22 to the stack, an elastic contact 23 carried by the pressing movement on the flat part of the disc.
In the third embodiment shown in fia. 3, 4 and 5, the upper part of the housing

of the battery is closed by a cover made of insulating material 24 reinforced on its inside face, facing the battery, with a metal plate 25 provided with an ear 26 passing through the edge of the cover and being in contact with a metal ring 27 encircling said cover.
The embodiment of FIG. 6 presents a conductive cover 28 provided with a flat peripheral rim 29 on which presses the contact 30 carried by the periphery of the movement. This rim rests on the crown by means of an insulating seal 31. The cover furthermore has a vertical rim 32 isolated from the stack by the sleeve 33 which at the same time serves to center the stack.
In the embodiments described above, the crown of the back is attached to the caseband; but it could be part of it.
We know that the movement, which is produced independently of the case, is very often not exactly centered in the latter; it will be seen that in the embodiments described above, these slight variations in position will not prevent the contact of the movement from remaining fully engaged with the cover connected to pole 11 of the battery.
