Skill game The object of the present invention is a skill game comprising a miniature vehicle man # uvrable with the help & a steering wheel with intended to allow a player to change his direction in relation to obstacles moving in the direction of said maneuverable vehicle.
The game forming the subject of the invention is characterized in that said obstacles comprise, on one side of this vehicle, a row of miniature vehicles driven at one speed. -ess which can be changed at will and, from the other side, a row of pedestrians entering at a constant speed, the whole being arranged in such a way that, when the obstacles of the two rows pass successively in proximity of said maneuverable vehicle, the direction of the latter can be modified so that it does not touch obstacles, but that
when two obstacles each belonging to one of the two rows pass simultaneously in proximity of said maneuverable vehicle, contact between this vehicle and one of these obstacles cannot not be avoided, even by changing the direction of said vehicle.
The appended drawing represents, by title & example, an embodiment of the address set forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view of this embodiment, in section taken along the line 1-1 of in fig. 2.
Fig. 2 is a plan view.
Fig. 3 is a detail view at on a larger scale.
Fig. 4 is a front view of certain members of a control mechanism for a points counter.
Fig. 5 is a view from below of the mechanism of in fig. 4. FIG. 6 is a view of another detail of the game, on on a larger scale.
The skill game shown in Figs. 1 and 2 corner- takes a frame 1 on the upper side of which. is mounted a miniature vehicle 2 maneuverable with using a steering wheel with hand 3 intended for </ B> allow a player (not shown) to change his direction with respect to rows of vehicles 4 and pedestrians 5 moving in direction of the vehicle 2, as indicated by the arrow to in fig. 1.
To this end, vehicle 2 is fixed to a plate 6 capable of rotating about a vertical axis, 7 carrying a bevel gear 8 meshing with a bevel pinion 9 integral with the axis, 10 with the flywheel 3.
The rows of vehicles 4 and of pedestrians 5 are each mounted on an endless chain 12, respectively 11. The chain 11 passes over a wheel with crazy chahic 13 and on a wheel with chain 14 drive. The chain, 12, which is independent of the chain 11, passes on a wheel with chain 15 and on a wheel with drive chain 16, the wheels 15 and 16 being coaxial with the wheels 13 and 14 respectively.
A 17 motor is used to drive the # wheels 14 and 16 via a tangent screw 18, d 'a helical 19 wheel set on a shaft 20, and pairs of chain wheels 21, 21' and 22, 22 'with their corresponding chains 23 < / B> and 24 (fig. 3). The wheel 14 of the pedestrian chain 5 is driven directly by the wheel 21 ', while the wheel 16 of the chain of vehicles 4 is driven by the wheel 22 'pinned to a shaft 26,
by the intermediary of a with free wheel mechanism, shown in the diagram matically at 25 to in fig. 3.
A multiplier train & gears generally designated as 27 and a disc & clutch 28 are arranged between the motor shaft 26 and the wheel < B> with chain 16 which, for its part, also carries a lining 29 against which the lining 28 ' of the disc < B> 28 is intended to engage.
The clutch disc 28 can slide on the shaft 26 and carries a pinion of length cur sufficient to participate in the sliding movement while remaining in mesh with the last toothed wheel of the gear train 27. The movements of the clutch disc 28 are controlled from from a lever < B> by hand 30 adjacent to the handwheel 3, by the terminal of a rod 31 and an angled lever 32. The hand hand 30 lever is articulated on a fixed support 33 and its end is connected to < / B> a sleeve 34 slidably mounted on axis 10 of the flywheel 30.
This sleeve 34 is connected to one end of the rod 31 which is connected to the lever 32 carrying a fork 35 meshed with the, disc & clutch 28 (fig. 3), the lever 32 being articulated at a fixed point 36 with respect to the frame 1 (fig. 2).
The vehicle 2 man # uvrable by the player to by shooting the steering wheel 3 carries to the front two levers 37 </ B > used to activate an electric switch 38 (fig. 6) when they are moved by one of the vehicles 4 or by one of the pedestrians 5 with which they can come into contact depending on the relative position of vehicles 4 and pedestrians 5.
Each lever 37 is integral with a toothed wheel 39 meshing with the corresponding toothed wheel of the other lever, an eccentric 40 being mounted on one of said wheels 39. This eccentric 40 is used for the actuation of a push-button 41 of the switch 38 controlling the circuit of an electromagnet 42 making part of a counter 43 which indicates the number of points obtained by the player, as will be described in detail below.
The counter 43 as seen to in FIG. 2 presents a circular dial indicating the values of the tens for the points obtained by the the player, these values appearing illuminated successively in circular windows, and a rectangular dial indicating the values of the hundreds appearing from the same way in rectangular windows.
The counter 43 is controlled with using the mechanism shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. This mechanism comprises a ring 44 of ten contacts corresponding to the tens and a ring 45 of six contacts, five of which correspond to the hundreds, that is to say to the values 100 to 500 . The contacts of the crowns 44 and 45 are fixed and control the circuits of the lighting lamps for the windows of the meters of the meter 43 by means of the rotary brushes 44 'and 45 ". The sixth contact of the neck 45 is not plugged in.
The ring gear 44 is mounted in an insulating support surrounding a shaft carrying a toothed wheel 46 meshing with a toothed wheel 46 'wedged on a shaft carrying the brush 45' of the contact ring 45 mounted in the same insulating support, the transmission ratio of these gears being 1 to 10. The toothed wheel 46 'is rotated by means of a transmission with friction comprising a wheel 47 engaging with a knurled roller 48 integral with a toothed wheel 49 meshing with a worm 50 driven to from of the shaft of the wheel to chain 15 by bevel gears 51, 51 ' (fig. < B> 5). A pulley 52 coaxial with the toothed wheel 46 'and integral in rotation,
from this last door, coiled on it, a cable 53 whose free end is fixed to a spring 54 for the purpose which will be indicated below.
A wheel with points 55, integral with the pulley 52 cooperates with a stopper 56 constituted by the 'end of a shaft 57 integral with another arm 58 carrying at its end a braking element 59 </ B > intended to retain the pulley 52 and the wheel 55 against the action of the spring 54 by resting against a cylindrical bearing 55 ' of the wheel 55. The arms 57 and 58 are integral with a sleeve 58' < / B> on which is also fixed the support of the knurled roller 48, the whole being held in the position of FIG. 4 by elastic means, not shown. The core of the electromagnet 42 is connected to the arm 58.
A prepayment device shown schematically at 60 to in fig. 2, is used to start the motor 17 and to stop it after a determined time.
The operation of the game described is as follows: The player after inserting a coin into the prepayment device changes the direction of vehicle 2 by means of the steering wheel 3 in way to prevent that, when one of the vehicles 4 or one of the pedestrians 5 passes in proximity to vehicle 2, he strikes against the corresponding lever 37. As long as the player does not act on lever 30, both chains < B> 11 and 12 move at the same speed and counter 43 is driven by the transmission 50, 49, 48 and 47 at < / B> a reduced speed such that it cannot register the fixed maximum of 500 points of the game during the time of a game, for example two and a half minutes,
set by the device 60. To be able to reach this maximum of 500 points, the counter 43 must run faster, which is achieved when the player acts on the lever 30 to apply the clutch disc 28 against the wheel to chain < B> 16 via the rod 3 1, the lever 32 and the fork 35. Under these conditions , it may happen that a vehicle 4 and a pedestrian 5 pass simultaneously in proximity to vehicle 2, in which case the player cannot prevent one < B> levers 37 come into contact with one of these obstacles.
The counter 43 is arranged to to also register penalties when one or both of the levers 37 of the vehicle 2 or both touch a pedestrian 5 </ B > and / or a vehicle 4. If one of the levers 37 is shifted coming in contact with a vehicle or a pedestrian, it turns the wheels < B> 39 engaged, so that the eccentric 40 which is also driven acts on the push-button 41 of the switch 38 so as to close the electromagnet circuit 42.
The core of this electromagnet then attracts the arm 58 to which it is connected, which simultaneously rotates the arm 57 and the support of the friction roller 48 around the axis of the sleeve 58 ', the roller 48 thus being out of engaged with the wheel 47. L the brake element 59 is moved away from the cylindrical seat 55 ', the spring 54 pulls the cable 53 this which turns the pulley 52 and with it the wheels 46, 46 ', the brushes 44', 45 'and the wheel with points 55 in the opposite direction to that drawn by the roller 48.
The wheel 55 therefore returns backwards until one of its points comes up against the component (the stop 56 which has lowered. , the wheel 55, the wheels 46, 46 'and the brushes 44', 45 'are also rotated in the opposite direction, which corresponds to a decrease in The points indicated on the meter The space between two points of the wheel 55 determines an angular displacement corresponding to a certain number of points indicated on the meter 43. In < B> the game described, it is assumed that by moving back from one point to the other, the number of points of the counter decreases by three tens.
As soon as the obstacle has disappeared, the levers 37 of vehicle 2 return to their normal position corresponding to the opening of the switch 38, That is to say to switching off the electromagnet 42. The support of the roller 48 as well as the arms 57 </ B > and 58 are brought back to the position of in fig. 4 by means of recall not shown.
The friction roller 48 is to again applied against the trolling wheel 47, the braking element 59 retains the pulley 52 and the wheel 55 against the action of spring 54 and brushes 44 'and 45' rotate by successively lighting up, by means of contact rings 44 and 45, the lamps of the windows of the counter corresponding to the numbers of points obtained by the, player.
