Skill game The present invention relates to a skill game, characterized by the fact that it comprises an oblong box, mounted on feet, in which is housed a movable endless belt representing a track with a sinuous layout and comprising obstacles and a low wall on each side of the track, said cloudy track serving as a track for a miniature vehicle provided with a front bumper with electrical contact pads serving to interrupt the movement of the endless belt ,
the steering of the steering wheels of said vehicle being controlled remotely by the operation of a steering wheel fixed to the front wall of the body to which is also fixed an operating lever making it possible to adjust the speed of movement of the endless belt, a box fixed to the rear wall of the body and containing a speedometer connected to the drive roller of the endless belt, a mileage totalizer and a device comprising a fault counter for interrupting the movement of the endless belt when the vehicle's bumper abuts against one of the side walls of the track or against an obstacle erected along the track,
the whole being arranged so that by maneuvering the steering wheel to steer the steering wheels of the miniature vehicle, the player strives to make said vehicle follow the median course of the mobile winding track whatever the speed of movement of the strip endless, each of the lateral contacts of the bumper with one of the low walls bordering the track and each of the frontal contacts of said bumper with an obstacle on the track having the effect of marking, at certain speeds, a point of penalty on the foul counter and stop the rotation of the endless belt.
The appended drawing, given by way of example, represents an embodiment of the skill game which is the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the skill game.
Fig. 2 is a partial longitudinal section in elevation of the game.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 is a plan view of the front part of a miniature vehicle.
In the embodiment shown, the skill game comprises a box 1, mounted on four feet 2. Inside the box is housed an endless belt 3, for example of rubber, stretched between two rollers, one of which is front roller 4, integral with an axis 4 ', and a posterior roller 5, integral with an axis 5', the ends of the axes 4 'and 5' journal being in the longitudinal walls 6, 6 'respectively of the body 1. The ends of the axis 4 'are capable of sliding in buttonholes 7, by means of tensioners 8, 8' respectively, intended to adjust the tension of the endless belt.
The rear roller 5 has, at one of its ends, a pulley 9 on which is wound a drive belt 10, by means of an electric motor 11 provided with a reduction gear 12. At its other end, the rear roller 5 carries two rollers 13, arranged on the same diameter of the roller, each of said rollers being capable of bearing, during the rotation of the roller, on a contact tip 14, connected to a mileage recorder 15, housed in a box 16 adjoining the rear wall 17, raised, of box 1.
The endless belt 3, capable of moving at three adjustable rotational speeds, constitutes a track 18, the path of which is sinuous and the center line of which is represented by spaced lines 19, for example of white color. The track 18 is bounded on each side by a wall 20, 20 ', formed by a succession of vertical bars, alternately of two different colors, for example white and black, so as to visually delimit the edges of the winding track.
The track 18 also presents obstacles such as a traffic sign 21, fixed on the strip 3, for example by means of a res out, so that the panel folds down under the car when it is in position. contact with its bumper and that it then straightens up automatically, the resistance of the panel to said bumper being however sufficient to trigger the stoppage of the game when the endless belt turns at second or third speed .
The track 18 serves as a raceway for a miniature vehicle 22, connected to a steering wheel 23 of my steering wheel via a flexible cable 24 and a reduction gear 25. The wheel steering device front of the car 22 (fig. 4) consists of a worm 26, driving a toothed wheel 27, horizontal. The axis of the wheel 27 is integral with a rod 28 intended to pivot the front wheels 30 and 30 '.
The worm 26 is connected to the posterior end of the flexible cable 24, the front end of which is fixed to one of the halves of a cardan shaft 31, the other half of which is integral with one of the ends of a pin 32, the other end of which is fixed to the front wall 33 of the body 1.
The flywheel 23, located outside the front wall 33, is integral with a tube 34 connected, inside the body, to the axis 32 by the reduction gear 25, comprising a pinion 35 fixed on the axle 32 and a wheel 36 fixed on the tube 34, said wheel being provided with a friction member 37, for example made of leather, intended to prevent the transmission of the forces exerted by the player on the steering wheel 23 to the toothed wheels 26-27 mounted inside the miniature vehicle 22.
The gimbal 31 could be surrounded by a rubber sheath, not shown in the drawing, intended to give it rigidity.
In the middle of the front part 38 of the miniature vehicle 22 is fixed, using a pivot 39, a bumper 40, a leaf spring 41 being interposed between said bumper 40 and the front part 38. The ends 42, 42 'of the blade 41 are capable of coming into contact with a stud 43, 43' respectively, fixed on the front part 38, when the ends 44, 44 'respectively of the bumper 40 abut against the 'one of the bars of the wall 20, 20' respectively (fig. 3).
The contact pads 43, 43 ', as well as the signaling panels 21 are connected by electric wires to a fault counter 45 (fig. 1) housed in the box 16, which also contains a speedometer 46 indicating the speed. endless belt rotation speed 3.
On the outer face of the front wall 33 of the body is fixed an operating lever 47 allowing the speed of rotation of the endless belt to be adjusted by means of a switch 48 (fig. 3), for example three indicated speeds. by light markers 49 placed in the lateral band 50 of the body, on the left side.
The wall 33 further comprises an opening 51 for the introduction of a token, intended to start the game, as well as an operating button 52 intended to trigger the mechanism for starting the game when the player has obtained a free game, indicated by a luminous mark placed in the outer side band 53, on the right side of the body, an intermediate band 54 indicating to the player, by lighting a lamp, the totalization of a too much large number of faults, and an inner band 55 indicating a maximum of kilometers reached, without taking into account the faults marked on the counter 45.
The skill game described operates as follows: the introduction of a token into the opening 51 triggers a timer limiting the duration of the game, said timer cutting the electrical circuit within a determined time. By actuating the lever 47 from the zero mark to the one mark, corresponding to the first gear, the motor 11 is started and the endless belt 3 moves while rotating in the direction of arrow f (fig. 2). . The player takes control of the steering wheel 23 and maneuvers it so that the miniature vehicle 22 follows the spaced lines 19 representing the middle of the track 18.
The object of the game is to complete a clear course, as well as a determined number of kilometers within an equally determined time. When the bumper 40 comes into contact with one of the bars of the low walls 20, 20 'bordering the track or a traffic sign 21, the foul counter 45 registers a penalty point. In first gear, faults are not counted and the movement of the endless belt is not interrupted. On the other hand, in the second and third speeds of the endless belt, the contact of the bumper with one of the obstacles cuts the electrical circuit supplying the motor and the belt 3 stops rotating, so as to prevent the player to restart the track in first gear, which causes him a waste of time.
The faults are totaled on counter 45 which triggers a free game when the player has succeeded in having the vehicle complete a clear course and a determined number of kilometers.
If lever 47 is constantly set to first gear, the player can easily steer the vehicle so that it constantly follows the middle of the track and no fault will be marked on the 45 counter, but the number of kilometers traveled. by the vehicle will be so reduced that the player will not benefit from any free play.
