Device for the assembly of tubular elements The present invention relates to a device for the assembly of tubular elements, in particular for the assembly of tubular elements constituting scaffolds, metallic or non-metallic frames for displays, shelving, etc. This device is characterized in that it comprises at least two parts each having two parallel surfaces and mounted on an axis perpendicular to said surfaces, this axis passing through said parts in their central part so that they,
can be oriented with respect to each other to in any angular position, at least one of the parallel faces of each of said. Parts, comprising a rectilinear groove formed tangentially to an orifice through which the aforesaid axis passes and intended to contain a part of a tubular element, the section of which is substantially equal to that of the groove, the device further comprising a locking means making it possible to rigidly fix the two parts one against the other and the tubular elements engaged in said grooves, each of these elements then being clamped in a housing limited by the walls of the groove on the one hand and,
on the other hand, by a portion of the contact surface of the opposite part.
The appended drawing shows, by by way of examples, various embodiments of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the first embodiment for the assembly of two tubular elements.
Fig. 2 is a cross section thereof.
Figs. 3 and 4 show respectively in elevation and in profile the second form of execution intended for the assembly of three tubular elements.
Fig. 5 is an elevational view of an alternative embodiment of the device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 6 represents a second variant of this device.
As shown in fig. 1 to 4 of the drawing, the device according to the invention essentially comprises circular 1 parts assembled in groups of two, three and even more on an axis formed by the threaded rod a bolt 2. Each of the parts 1 has a central hole for the passage of said rod, and a groove 3 formed tangentially < B> at this hole. The section of this groove is substantially equal to that of the tubular elements 4, 5 intended to to be assembled by means of the device, that is to say that is, the width and depth of said groove correspond to the diameter of said elements.
However, in a preferred embodiment, the depth of the groove 3 is slightly less than the diameter of the tube, for the purpose of obtaining at blow on an imperative tightening of the latter in its housing. When the assembly comprises two tubes crossing each other and in contact with one another (fig. 1 and 2), the device comprises two parts 1 joined together by means of a bolt 2. The surfaces presenting the grooves 3 are arranged opposite one another. and the tubes are oriented in the desired direction. The clamping is then locked by means of a nut 8 engaged on the threaded part of bolt 2.
Each of the tubular elements 4, 5 is thus held rigidly in a housing limited by the walls of the corresponding groove, 3 on the one hand and, on the other hand , by a portion of the contact surface of the opposite part 1 . If the assembly also comprises one or more tubes arranged in a plane other than that in which elements 4 and 5 appear, it suffices to mount a second device on one of these, for example as indicated in phantom in fig. 1 and 2.
The 1 pieces can each have 9 or vertures allowing one. on the other hand, to facilitate the gripping of said parts by inserting the fingers into these openings and, on the other hand, to simplify their handling by bringing them together by means of a flexible link passing through said openings, this arrangement offering the advantage of allowing the transport of a large number of 1. parts
Figs. 3 and 4 represent the second embodiment of the device for the assembly of three tubular elements 4a, 5a and 6a placed all three in different and any directions, by means of three pieces similar to those shown in fig. 1 and 2, and a bolt 2a of the appropriate length.
Fig. 5 shows an alternative embodiment of the parts 1 shown in fig. 1 to 4. The parts lb forming the subject of this variant, intended to ensure the assembly elements. tubular 4b, 5b are characterized by their polygonal shape.
Finally, fig. 6 represents a second variant of the aforesaid parts, which each have two parallel grooves making it possible to assemble, by means of two parts le, four tubular elements 4c, 5c, 6c, 7c.
The parts 1 and the tubular elements 4, 5, etc., can be made of any suitable materials, for example steel, light metal, materials synthetic of all kinds, etc., and they are intended more particularly, but not exclusively, for the construction of scaffolding, reinforcements for displays, shelving etc. The execution in a synthetic material would be perfectly suitable for the realization of construction games.
The possibility of arranging the tubular elements in all directions and in different planes gives the device a universal character. It suffices to have a certain number of parts 1, all similar, and bolts whose length is adapted to the number of tubes forming each of the assemblies.
