Abstract

Pallet-box of the type comprising a pallet 1 with an upper plane 3 constituting the bottom of the box and a lower plane 2, separated from the bottom by blocks, and four side walls being erected along the edges of the bottom 3, characterised in that the blocks are constituted by sleeves 4, whereas the upper plane comprises holes 10 in line with the said sleeves 4, the said sleeves being intended to receive uprights having longitudinal grooves 8 into which the corresponding edges of the side walls 15 are inserted.

Description

 The present invention relates to a pallet box.

 The prior art knows many pallet boxes which generally comprise a pallet formed by a lower plane connected to an upper plane by wedges to allow the passage of the forks of a forklift, said upper plane constituting the bottom of the box and from which along the edges sterilize four side walls.

 These boxes are generally quite large, receive heavy products and are generally made of wood. They have certain drawbacks; they are heavy, difficult to repair when damaged and require a large space for storage.

 One of the aims of the present invention is to produce a plastic pallet box overcoming these various drawbacks.

 The box, according to the invention is of the type comprising a pallet with an upper plane constituting the bottom of the box and a lower plane separated from the bottom by wedges and, four side walls erecting along the edges of the bottom and is characterized in that the wedges are formed by sleeves, while the upper plane has holes in line with said sleeves, said sleeves being intended to receive uprights having longitudinal grooves in which the corresponding edges of the side walls are inserted . An inexpensive pallet box is thus produced which can be stored disassembled, which is very easy to assemble and whose parts which can be damaged are easily replaceable.

 Preferably, each sleeve has an internal shoulder and each upright has at one end a bulged head intended to cooperate elastically with the shoulder. Thus, a simple means of securing the uprights in the sleeves is produced.

 Suizan ~ a detail construz iw pargicul er, the grooves of the uprights have two parallel edges, one end opening on the side wall and the other ex end on a circular bottom, the corresponding edges of the uprights having beads intended for s insert into said grooves.

 In order to minimize the number of different parts for producing the pallet box, according to the invention, each upright has four grooves offset angularly by 900.

 Preferably, the walls and the bottom comprise combined means for blocking said walls against said bottom.

 According to a constructive detail, the edges of the walls intended to cooperate with the bottom comprise a bead intended to be inserted elastically with corresponding slots in the bottom. This produces a simple means of fixing the walls against the bottom.

 In order to lighten the pallet box, according to the invention, the lower plane and the upper plane of the pallet are perforated.

 Finally, the lower plane of the pallet has openings in line with the sleeves. Thus, the pallet box according to the invention is stackable.

 The box shown in the figures comprises a pallet 1 made of plastic and comprising a lower plane 2 and an upper plane 3, these planes being perforated and connected by sleeves 4. In the example shown, nine sleeves 4 are provided.

 Each sleeve, at an intermediate point of its height internally comprises a stop 5 formed by a shoulder of its conauit.

 In the sleeves 4 fit uprights 6, made of plastic, preferably and made by extrusion, each upright 6 having a circular section with an axial central hole 7 and four grooves 8 angularly offset by 900. Each groove 8 has two parallel edges 8a, 8b opening to the outside and a bottom 8c of circular section whose diameter is greater than the interval between the edges 8a and 8b.

 The upper plane 3 of the pallet I as well as the lower plane of the latter are drilled with holes 10 and 14 respectively in correspondence with the sleeves 4.

 The holes 7 of the uprights 6 are closed by plugs 11 which have a stud 12 welded or glued in said holes and a swollen head 13 whose diameter is slightly less than the distance separating two bottoms 8c diametrically affixed from the grooves 8 and slightly greater than the internal diameter of the shoulder 5.

 The body is completed by walls 15 of generally rectangular shape with two long sides 16 and 17 and two short sides 18 and 19.

 The walls 15 are made of plastic and have along the short side 17 two beads 20 and along the short sides 18 and 19 of the beads, respectively 21 and 22. The beads 21 and 22 have a section corresponding to the section of the bottoms 8c of the grooves 8 and the walls 15 a thickness which corresponds to the interval between the edges 8a and 8b.

 The upper plane 3, between the holes 10 has slots 25 whose width is slightly less than the section of the beads 20.

 The box is assembled by engaging in each hole 10 and each sleeve 4 an amount 6, the bulged part 13 by cooperating with the shoulder 5 to ensure the blocking, then the walls 15 are placed by inserting the bead 19 in a groove 8 d an upright 6 and the bead 18 in the groove 8 of the adjacent upright 6, the walls 15 being pushed so that the beads 20 are inserted elastically into the slots 25.

 There is shown in Figure 1 the case of a box which is intended to receive light products; in this embodiment, the walls 15 are of a length corresponding to the interval between two uprights 6 located in the vicinity of the angles of the pallet 1.

 If the products to be transported are heavy, provision is made between two uprights 6 for intermediate uprights inserted in the sleeves located between two sleeves 4 arranged in the corners and smaller walls 15a are used, as shown in FIG. 2.

 One can also insert a post 6 in the central sleeve 4 and mount two or four intermediate walls 15a (Figure 2).

 It is understood that the body thus produced can be very resistant.

 The box, according to the invention, is easy to store because disassembled it is compact, very easy to assemble and the damaged elements can be easily replaced. The box is also stackable, the caps there of the upper free ends of a box which can engage in the holes 14 of another box placed on the first.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments which have just been described and shown. Many detailed modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
