La présente invention a pour objet un appareil pour le massage des gencives.
Cet appareil est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend un corps constitué par un manche prolongé à l'une de ses extrémités par une partie en forme de palette sur laquelle est fixée, de façon amovible, une éponge en mousse de matière synthétique destinée à être imprégnée d'un produit pour le traitement des gencives.
Le dessin annexé représente, schématiquement et à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de l'appareil selon l'invention.
La fig. 1 est une vue en perspective de cette forme d'exécution, l'agrafe étant ouverte et l'éponge soulevée.
La fig. 2 est une vue en perspective du même objet en position d'utilisation.
Comme on le voit sur la fig. 1, l'appareil comprend essentiellement un corps constitué par un manche 1 terminé à l'une de ses extrémités par une partie en forme de palette 2.
Sur la palette 2 est assujettie de manière amovible une éponge 3 destinée à être imprégnée d'un produit pour le traitement des gencives, d'un dentifrice par exemple.
L'éponge 3 est maintenue en place par un dispositif à agrafe comprenant une agrafe 4 articulée en 5 sur un axe traversant l'agrafe et deux éléments de support noyés dans la masse de matière synthétique dont est fait, de préférence, le corps de l'appareil.
L'extrémité coudée 6 de l'agrafe 4 vient coopérer par frottement dur avec une arête vive d'une encoche 7 ménagée à l'extrémité de la palette 2. Pour éviter l'usure de cette arête en matière synthétique, celle-ci est renforcée par une plaquette métallique noyée dans la matière synthétique.
La palette 2 présente en outre une rainure longitudinale 8 destinée à contenir l'agrafe 4 et la partie d'éponge pincée par celle-ci en position fermée.
La palette 2 présente de préférence des stries transversales 9 ou des saillies de tout autre type afin d'empêcher le glissement de l'éponge 3.
Lorsque l'agrafe 4 est abaissée sur l'éponge 3, la partie coudée 6 se coince contre l'arête vive de l'encoche 7 et, en pénétrant dans la rainure 8, s'efface complètement de manière à éviter tout contact entre ladite agrafe et les gencives. Cette disposition a également pour effet de donner à l'éponge 3 la forme représentée sur la fig. 2, qui est celle la mieux adaptée pour effectuer un massage efficace des gencives supérieure et inférieure.
L'éponge 3 a une surface supérieure légèrement dentelée.
Elle est partiellement fendue en profondeur sur toute la longueur de son axe longitudinal pour permettre sa mise en place correcte, sans difficulté et aussi pour diminuer la quantité de matière destinée a être comprimée par l'agrafe 4 dans la rainure 8.
L'éponge 3 est constituée en mousse de matière synthétique de prix peu élevé et est destinée à être jetée après chaque usage, le produit d'imprégnation étant alors épuisé. Ceci entraîne une grande facilité d'utilisation et est hautement recommandé du point de vue de l'hygiène.
Une forme d'exécution de l'invention a été décrite et illustrée à titre d'exemple mais il va sans dire que de nombreuses variantes pourraient être prévues, en particulier le dispositif à agrafe pourrait être remplacé par tout autre dispositif de fixation équivalent.
La forme du corps ainsi que de la palette pourrait être différente, ainsi que celle de l'éponge.

The sponge 3 has a slightly serrated upper surface.

An embodiment of the invention has been described and illustrated by way of example, but it goes without saying that many variants could be provided, in particular the clip device could be replaced by any other equivalent fixing device.
