Device for regulating the amount of combustion air to be supplied to an oil evaporation burner In oil evaporation burners, it is desirable that the amount of combustion air that is supplied to the burner is precisely matched to the amount of oil to be burned. Such a vote would be relatively easy if you were to guide the combustion air by means of a fan, because you could then match the promotion of the fan to the oil production.
In the vast majority of cases, however, the combustion air is supplied through the effect of the chimney draft, which in turn depends on a number of factors, such as temperature, air pressure, wind and the like, so that the amount of combustion air fluctuates with every change in these factors. To eliminate these fluctuations in the chimney draft, draft regulators were already proposed which were installed between the oil stove and the chimney and which had a flap that opens by itself as soon as a predetermined draft was reached in the chimney, and the room air was open allowed to enter the exhaust gas stream.
In this way, an excessively high chimney draft was reduced, but this arrangement had the disadvantage that warm room air was sucked out of the heated room. Under unfavorable conditions, for example with a low stove output, with low outside temperatures and with a strong chimney draft, the case could arise that more heat was extracted from the room via the draft regulator than was released by the combustion. Another disadvantage of this known draft regulator is that although the fluctuations in the chimney draft have been eliminated to some extent, it was not possible to adjust the amount of combustion air to the amount of oil supplied to the burner.
According to the invention, a device for regulating the amount of combustion air is provided by which the above-mentioned disadvantages are taken besei. This not only compensates for the fluctuations in the chimney draft, but also automatically adjusts the amount of combustion air to the amount of oil burned. The device according to the invention can be designed in such a way that it is simple to manufacture and operationally safe and requires practically no maintenance during operation.
Another advantage is that the device can be designed in such a way that the supply opening for the combustion air is automatically closed in the event of a backwater in the chimney, so that the penetration of soot into the room to be heated is avoided.
These advantages can be achieved if, in an oil evaporation burner, in which the oil supply is adjusted by means of an adjusting device for the oil supply, a device for regulating the amount of combustion air is provided, which is connected to the adjusting device for the oil supply in such a way that, when enlarged a passage opening for the combustion air is automatically enlarged after the oil supply.
For this purpose, for example, a channel for the incoming combustion air can be provided which is partially closed by a rotatably mounted flap, the wall of the channel opposite the movable end of the flap being pivotable about an axis and connected to the oil regulating device in such a way that the angular position of this wall inevitably changes with the position of the oil regulation device.
It is particularly advantageous if this pivotable wall is designed to be arched, with the concave side lying on the side of the movable flap. The curvature is expediently dimensioned in such a way that the gap remaining between the free end of the movable flap and the movable wall of the air supply channel continuously decreases with increasing rotation of the movable flap in the flow direction of the air.
It is useful if the axis of the flap and the axis of the adjustable wall are arranged parallel to one another. The distance between the two axes is preferably chosen so that it corresponds approximately to the length of the flap. So that the movement of the flap is limited in its one end position, the front wall of the regulating housing can be extended so far in the direction of the axis of the movable flap that the extension can serve as a stop for the flap. To limit the movement of the flap in the flow direction, you can also provide a suitable stop attached near the axis of the movable wall, for example, bend the end of the movable wall located at this axis so that a stop for it Flap arises.
It is often advantageous to attach a weight to the movable flap eccentrically to its axis, so that the flap assumes exactly a vertical position when there is a predetermined draft of air.
An exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which FIG. 1 shows a vertical section through an oil vaporization burner equipped with the regulating device according to the invention, while FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1 shows.
In Fig. 1, the burner pot 1 is arranged in a tightly closing jacket 2 on which the box-shaped Ge housing 3 containing the regulating device is attached. In this housing, a flap 4 is suspended on an axis 5 so that it can move easily. A wall 6 is arranged opposite the movable end of the flap 4, which wall can be pivoted about an axis 7 and is adjusted by the oil regulating device (not shown). From FIG. 1 it can be seen that the right edge of the wall 6 is bent downwards, while the left edge at the axis is bent upwards.
In this way, the right edge forms a tight seal with the front of the housing wall, while the left edge serves as a stop for the flap 4 when it is pivoted into its extreme left position in FIG. 1 with dashed lines. The front wall of the housing 3 is pulled up so far at the point 12 that the upper edge serves as a stop for the flap 4 when this flap is pivoted into its extreme right position, which is also indicated in FIG. 1 with dashed lines .
FIG. 2 shows a cross section along the line II-II in FIG. 1, and it can be seen from this figure that the air inlet duct is closed by the side walls 8 and 9.
The mode of operation of the embodiment shown in the drawings is as follows: With a chimney draft of about 0.7 mm water column, the flap 4 is vertical, the torque generated by the air pressure acting on this flap compensated by a counterweight not shown in the drawings becomes. In this position, as much combustion air can flow in between the flap 4 on the one hand and the side walls 8 and 9 and the wall 6 on the other hand as is necessary for complete combustion of the supplied oil.
If the chimney draft increases to about 1.0 mm WS due to a change in the weather, for example, the flap 4 is pushed to the left by the incoming air until the moment generated by the dynamic pressure of the flowing air is equal to that caused by the shifting of the center of gravity of the Flap is the moment. The passage cross-section limited by the flap, which is then available to the inflowing air, is therefore smaller, so that the inflowing air quantity remains approximately constant, since the flow speed increases due to the increased chimney draft. The curvature of the wall 6 can now be dimensioned so that approximately the same amount of combustion air flows in in every position of the flap 4.
In the event of a corresponding backflow in the chimney, the inlet opening for the combustion air is automatically closed by the flap 4.
If you want to change the heating power of the furnace by adjusting the oil regulating device, you necessarily also change the position of the wall 6, so that the passage opening for the combustion air formed between the latter and the flap is changed in size in the same way as the oil supply .
In Fig. 1, position 10 corresponds to the weak fire position and position 11 corresponds to a strong fire position. Even with these changed positions of the wall 6, the inflowing amount of combustion air is kept almost constant regardless of the chimney draft, although this amount is naturally less in position 10 than in position 11.
