Flatbed die-cutter. The present invention relates to a press for cutting, flat, a sheet material, in which the sheet material is applied against a form carrying the cutting tool of the so-called thread type, at the using a tilting table having a cylindrical surface which rolls without slipping on the plane where the sheet is located.
When the table rolls on the plane of the sheet, it never bears on it at a given moment except along a generator, which makes it possible to perform cutting with much lower forces than in flat presses and on a relatively light machine.
The flatbed die-cutting press, object of the invention, comprises a fixed support on which is mounted a plane thread cutting tool, a tilting table having a cylindrical surface whose axis is not materialized, and means for roll the tilting table without slipping on the thread cutting tool, and to lower it at the end of the work cycle so as to allow the introduction of the material to be cut.
In a particular embodiment of the press, the means for rolling the tilting table over the cutting tool without slipping are constituted by articulated connecting rods, on the one hand, on the tilting table and, on the other hand. , on levers which oscillate around their axes under the control of cams driven in rotation in a continuous movement and profiled so as to give a rolling movement to the table.
Still in one embodiment of the press, means for guiding the tilting table can be provided to ensure a rolling movement without sliding. These means can be constituted by rollers carried by said table, these rollers roll on cycloidal shaped ramps.
These means can also be constituted by toothed sectors integral with the tilting table and whose pitch radius is equal to the radius of the cylindrical surface of this table, these toothed sectors rolling on fixed racks parallel to the plane of the material to be cut.
The size of the press according to the invention is considerably reduced compared to the known milar systems due to the fact that the axis of the cylindrical surface of the tilting table has no use in the cutting mechanism and, consequently, does not need to be materialized.
On the other hand, the support for the cutting tool, which is fixed since the release of the material is obtained by lowering the tilting table, can be made removable very quickly since it is not linked to any moving mechanism.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the press which is the subject of the invention and a variant.
Fig. 1 is a view in longitudinal section of said embodiment of the press, the tilting table being in the working position.
Fig. 2 is a similar longitudinal sectional view with the tilting table lowered.
Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line III-III of FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 is a view in partial longitudinal section of an alternative embodiment of the guide means of the table. Fig. 5 is a partial cross-sectional view taken along the line V-V of FIG. 4.
The table 1, having a cylindrical surface 1a of large radius, is supported by connecting rods 2 and 3 articulated on the one hand on the table around the axes 4 and 5 and, on the other hand, on levers 6 and 7 around the axes 8 and 9. The levers 6 and 7 articulated around the axes 10 and 11, respectively carry by rollers 15, 16 on two pairs of cams 12 and 13 in continuous movement trails by a shaft 14.
These cams, which are traced in such a way as to combine the oscillating movements of the levers 6 and 7, communicate to the table 1 a rolling movement which keeps the circular profile the constant tangent to the plane of the material to be cut 19.
A pair of ramps 17, fixed to the frame of the press and on which rollers 18 carried by the table 1 roll, have a profile such that they communicate to the table 1 a rolling movement without sliding on the plane of the material. to be cut 19. The latter is brought into the cutting position by feed rollers 20.
Above the plane of the material to be cut 19 is arranged a fixed support 21 having at its lower part a thread type cutting tool 22 which coincides with this plane.
The operation of the press will now be described.
In fig. 1 table 1 is at the start of the working position; the material 19 has been immobilized in its plane and the pressure cutting work begins.
The pressure exerted by the cams 12, 13 makes it possible to successively press all the points of sheet material 19 against the threads 22, the work being finished when all the points of the cylindrical surface 1a have come into contact with the plane of these threads and that the end opposite to that shown in contact in FIG. 1 itself came into contact with the material to be cut.
In principle, this cutting is acquired on a half-turn of the cams or on a larger or smaller portion of these cams. The additional rotation is used to return the table to the initial position, to completely disengage the table, then to keep it in this disengaged position (fig. 2), for a time sufficient to allow the material to be cut to settle. 'be evacuated and operate the substitution of a new sheet which, once stopped, will be cut in the same way as before.
According to an alternative embodiment, the rolling movement without sliding of the table 1 can be obtained by a system of racks 23 (fig. 4 and 5) on which roll toothed sectors 24 integral with the table 1 and having an equal pitch radius. to the radius of the cylindrical surface thereof. In this case, the ramps 17 are deleted.
The two mechanisms have been mentioned because it is advantageous, in the case of cutting of large dimension, to have a very large radius so as to limit the amplitude of the oscillation movement and the corresponding inerties, which allows the machine to run at maximum speed, especially when using lightweight materials.
In the case of a large radius table, the toothed sector being difficult to cut, it is preferable to replace it with ramps 17.
