Description

Fish Eyes in thermoplastischen Materialien.

Fig. 3 und 4 bzw.

Continuously working mixing and kneading machine with rotating screw
The requirements with regard to the grinding and grinding action in mixing and kneading screws are very high when processing certain substances. This is especially true for the fine distribution of pigments in paints, varnishes and plastics as well as for the destruction of so-called fish eyes in thermoplastic materials. When processing these substances in an ordinary mixing and kneading screw, difficulties arise insofar as, in addition to an insufficient mixing and kneading effect, there is only a slight friction and grinding effect.

During processing in a continuously operating mixing and kneading machine, the screw of which, in addition to a rotational movement, executes a relative back and forth movement and has a screw wing in which evenly distributed gaps are provided, which correspond to teeth protruding from the inner wall of the screw housing, such as B. in Switzerland. Patent No. 247704 is described, there is a much better mixing and kneading effect, while the rubbing and grinding effect is insufficient where, due to the low viscosity of the product, there is little internal friction in the product itself during the kneading process, which is higher with products Viscosity essentially causes the rubbing and kneading process.

It has been shown that the friction and grinding effect can also be increased at low viscosities by providing the screw with a tightening in the direction of rotation on the outer surfaces facing the screw housing, in order to form wedge-shaped spaces with the housing wall.

Three exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawing.

1 and 2 show a cross section through the first embodiment and a section from the relevant screw.

FIGS. 3 and 4 and FIGS. 5 and 6 are similar illustrations relating to the second and third embodiments.

The mixing and kneading device according to FIG. 1 has a two-part screw housing a in which a screw b is rotatably arranged. This worm has a shaft bl with an uninterrupted wing b2 provided on it. This screw wing b2 is provided along its peripheral part with steps bs which follow one another at equal intervals.

Between these shoulders the peripheral part of the screw wing b2 runs in such a way that wedge-shaped spaces are formed between it and the inner wall of the screw housing a, which spaces increase in the direction of rotation of the screw b. When the device is in operation, the product to be processed enters these wedge-shaped spaces and is rubbed into them.

3 is a view and FIG. 4 is a cross-section through a mixing and kneading device of the screw type, in which the screw c, in addition to a rotational movement, executes a relative to and fro movement in the screw housing a, which protrudes from its inner wall, not shown here Teeth is provided. Evenly distributed gaps c4 are provided in the screw wing c2, as can also be seen in FIG. These gaps c4 in turn create shoulders on the peripheral part of the screw wing c, between which this peripheral part also runs in such a way that wedge-shaped spaces are created between it and the inner wall of the screw housing, as in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2. Some or all of the worm threads can be widened.

Such a widened worm thread is denoted by C5 in FIG. It also forms wedge-shaped spaces with the inner wall of the screw housing. This widening of the screw wing naturally creates larger friction surfaces.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, in which a worm e with an interrupted worm wing e2 is again provided, a friction roller f is provided between the worm flights, on the circumference of which between successive paragraphs there are attraction surfaces which are connected to the inner wall of the worm housing a Form wedge-shaped spaces, as can be seen in FIG.
