Process for the preparation of condensation products of saccharides on the nitrogen of N-deacetyl-alkylthiocolchiceins The present invention relates to a process for obtaining condensation products of saccharides on the nitrogen of N-deacetyl-alkyl-thiocolchi. - céins; these products are new and correspond to the general formula I

in which R = H or methyl, R1 = radical of a saccharide, R, = lower alkyl, and which can be used in veterinary and human medicine as well as in agriculture.
The process of the invention is characterized by the fact that, in a solvent and at a temperature between 500 and 1000 ° C., substantially stoichiometric quantities of a saccharide and of a tropolonic derivative corresponding to the substance are heated. above formula in which R = H or -CH3, R1 = H, R ,, = lower alkyl, the solution obtained is concentrated to a small volume, cooled and isolated the crystallized N-heteroside, which can be isolated by draining, decantation or centrifugation.
As the solvent constituting the reaction medium, a lower aliphatic alcohol, preferably methanol, is advantageously used. It is surprising to note that the biological activity and the low toxicity of the new compounds obtained are identical to those of the tropolonic thioderivatives which were used for their preparation. They can therefore be used in the various conventional fields of application of colchicum and colchicine. The presence of a sugar on their molecule gives them, moreover, the advantage of a solubility in water which the initial deacetylacoylthiocolchiceins did not have.
The following table shows some compared solubilities.
Comparative solubilities in water of N-deacetylalcoylthiocolchiceins and their derivatives obtained by the process according to the invention N-deacetylthiocolchicine ......... . . <2/1000 N-deacetylethylthiocolchicein ....... <2/1000 O-demethyl-N-deacetylthiocolchicine. . insoluble N-deacetylthiocolchicine glucoside> 1/100 N-deacetylthiocolchicine riboside. . > 1 / 10o N-glucoside of O-demethyl-N-deacetyl-thiocolchicine .................

The following examples illustrate the invention. Example 1 Preparation of deacetylthiocolchicine N-glucoside (Formula I, R = _CH3, R1 = -C ,, H1105, R2 = -CH3) 2 g of deaoetylthiocolchicine, F = 200o C, are introduced.
