Device for pasteurizing liquids, in particular milk. The main patent relates to a device for pasteurizing liquids, in particular milk, and is characterized by a heatable pasteurizing body with a spiral path leading from top to bottom to guide the treatment liquid.
The present invention relates to a further embodiment of the invention protected by the main patent and consists in the fact that the pasteurization body containing the spiral passage for heating the treatment liquid is designed as a raised, conical or dome-shaped hollow body.
The design according to the invention makes it possible to feed the treatment liquid to the pasteurization body in the central axis and, if necessary, accommodate the necessary elements for the temperature-dependent control of a throttle or shut-off valve for the metered flow of the treatment liquid to the pasteurization body in the cavity of the pasteurization body.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely: FIG. 1 shows a vertical section through the device, FIG. 2 shows a horizontal section along the line 11-II in FIG. 1, and FIG Line III-III in Fig. 1.
In the example shown, 1 designates the base of the device, in which a base 3 is housed in an easily removable manner. The pasteurization body 5 is arranged on the base 3 so that it can be lifted off. This pasteurization body is designed as a conical or dome-shaped hollow body raised in the center, the cavity of which is closed off at the bottom by a plate 4.
On the outside, the pasteurization body has a channel 10, which runs in the middle of the pasteurization body, beginning at the highest point of the same, in a spiral-shaped turn downwards and outwards and at its outer and lower end opens into a peripherally arranged drainage nozzle 11. The pasteurization body 5 is provided with a casing 5 ', on the upper end of which a collecting container 6 with a cover 7 for receiving the treatment liquid is detachably placed.
The lowest point of the slightly conical bottom 6 "of the collecting container 6, which is provided with a drain opening 6 ', is located in the middle of the container directly above the apex of the pasteurizing body 5. A heating coil built into the interior of the pasteurizing body is designated by 12 expediently runs in a turn which is spiral-shaped in plan and whose slope corresponds to that of the guide channel 10.
The cooling base 3 arranged under the pasteurization body 5 is also provided with a spiral passage 17 which begins outside below the connector 11 and opens out into a drain connector 18 at the bottom, in the middle of the concavely curved shell. The cooling base 3 has a cavity 19 below the concavely curved shell, which is set up for connection to a cooling water line.
Pasteurization body 5 and plate 4 delimit a cavity in which a thermostat 20 is accommodated, which is in operative connection with a valve stem 22 arranged coaxially to pasteurization body 5 and penetrating it via a push rod 21 and an angle lever 24 pivoted at 23.

At the end of the valve stem 22 is provided with a valve body 22 'which, in the idle state, is held against the outlet opening 6' of the collecting vessel 6 by a compression spring 25 and keeps it closed. 27 denotes a switch that can be controlled by the thermostat 20 and 28 is an electrical coupling part for connecting an apparatus plug and the associated cable.
The device described above is put into operation by actuating an electrical main switch (not shown) which closes the circuit to the heating coil 12, the pasteurizing body 5 being heated. A red control lamp (not shown) indicates that the heating coil 12 is energized. When the pasteurization body is heated to about 85 C, the thermostat 20 opens the valve 22, 22 'via the push rod 21 and the angle lever 24, whereupon the treatment liquid runs out of the collecting container 6 through the opening 6' and through the spiral-shaped guide channel 10 to the drainage connection 11 arrives.
On the way through the spiral-shaped guide channel 10, the treatment liquid is heated to the desired temperature, whereby it withdraws heat from the pasteurizing body 5. This has the consequence that the thermostat 20 closes the valve 22, 22 'again somewhat, so that less treatment liquid flows in and the pasteurization body 5 can adjust to the correct temperature.
The control by the thermostat 20 takes place in the area of the discharge pipe 11 in such a way that if the temperature of the pasteurization body is too high, the valve 22, -22 'opens further and accordingly more treatment liquid can flow in, while if the temperature of the pasteurization body is too low, The valve 22, 22 'closes further so that less treatment liquid can flow in and the pasteurization body is heated to a higher level.
When all the liquid has run out, the temperature of the pasteurizer rises, and at about 92 ° C. the thermostat is actuated via the push rod 21, the angle lever 24 and the valve stem 22 as well as the switch 27 and switches off the current to the heating coil. The control lamp (not shown) on the base 1 continues to burn, however, as a sign that the main switch of the device is still open. When the temperature of the pasteurizer body drops to about 85 ° C., the thermostat 20 switches the heating coil on again, so that the device can be started up again.
The heated liquid passes through the outlet nozzle 11 to the outer end of the cooling spiral 17, with the liquid on the way through the spiral to the outlet nozzle 18 giving off part of its heat to the cooling water circulating in the base 3 and at the desired temperature into an under the nozzle 18 placed vessel runs.
The device described above works very economically in contrast to the usual pasteurization devices. The pasteurization time for three liters of milk is around 8-10 minutes and the power consumption is around 800 watts. About 30 liters of cooling water are required for three liters of milk, with an inlet temperature of the cooling water of 12 C.
