Cooling device on an electrical machine by means of a flow of cooling air passed through a filter It is known in many cases for the cooling of electrical machines, especially when they are used in dusty operations, to pass the cooling air through a filter before they blow inside the The machine flows through it. For example, an arrangement is known in which a fan driven by an electric motor, which bil det the compression preliminary stage of a compressor, sucks in the air through a filter provided on the front side of the unit.
In this cooling device, part of the cooling air sucked in by the fan through the filter simultaneously flows through the electric motor driving the fan.
For electrical machines with changing speeds, it is also known to provide a separate motor rotating at constant speed for the fan drive so that a sufficient amount of cooling air can be supplied even at low speeds of the electrical machine to be cooled is guaranteed.
The invention relates to an improvement in such a cooling device of an electrical machine with changing speed. According to the invention, the replaceable filter forms the outer end wall on one end of the machine; The space between the filter and the end shield of the machine houses the fan and the motor for driving the fan. This arrangement ensures that the filter can be easily removed for cleaning purposes.
In addition, the installation of the filter results in practically no additional enlargement of the electrical machine to be cooled, since the space for the fan attached to the front must be available in any case. With the cooling device according to the invention, a completely smooth exterior is retained on the front sides of the machine, that is, despite effective cooling of the electrical machine rotating at changing speed by means of filtered cooling air sucked in from the outside, the machine needs the closed design not to be given up.
The air resistance of the filter is also small, as there is a large filter surface available through which the air flows across.
In an advantageous embodiment of the inven tion, the fan motor, as it is known per se, is designed as a built-in motor without a housing and carried by radial ribs, between which the fan sucks in the cooling air from the filter. The surrounding support disks for the fan blades can be located between the end shield of the machine and the built-in motor.
If the filter is designed in the shape of a circular ring, in a further development of the invention the shaft of the fan motor can also be designed as a hollow shaft; it then encloses a shaft which is coupled to the electrical machine to be cooled and which serves to display the speed of this machine or to trigger a control effect as a function of this speed.
For this purpose, for example, the shaft coupled to the electric machine to be cooled can be coupled at its outer end with a tachometer or a brake monitor without having to give up the closed ball shape of the overall arrangement.
As an embodiment of the invention, the drawing shows a section through the new fan and filter arrangement on one end of a rotor-fed three-phase shunt motor and the adjacent part of the interior of the motor. 1 is the commutator of the shunt motor on which brushes 2 slide; 3 is the housing surrounding the commutator; 4 is an inner end wall on the motor, which at the same time forms the bearing shield of the motor with the roller bearing 5.
This end shield 4 has on the scope :; Publ openings 6 through which the blades 7 of a fan disc 8 press cooling air in the sense of the arrows drawn into the inside of the machine. This fan disc 8 is now sitting on the hollow shaft 9 of a special fan motor 10. The stator of this fan motor is designed as a built-in motor, so without a housing, and it will keep ge by the stator surrounding radial ribs 11 in the prescribed position. These radial ribs merge into an annular screen 12 on their outer circumference.
This ring shield is then attached to the ring 13, which in turn is mounted in the outer jacket 14 of the end shield 4. The shaft 9 of the fan motor carries at its left end, that is between the motor and the bearing plate 4, the fan disk B. On the ribs 11 are annular shields 15 and 16 z. B. fastened by welding, in which the shaft 9 is supported by roller bearings ..
The outer end-face of the machine to be cooled is now formed by the annular filter 17, which is easily exchangeable in the housing. For this purpose, the two handles 18 are provided on the outer circumference of the filter, on the one hand, and also on the other Lugs 19 with which the filter can be inserted in the manner of a bayonet lock into the housing jacket, which has counter-lugs 20. The filter itself can consist of a number of adjacent perforated plates or sieves.
From the drawn arrows it can only be seen that the fan blades 7 suck in the cooling air from the outside via the filter 17. Tile cooling air then flows between the radial ribs 11 to the fan blades, wherein. some of the cooling air also sweeps around the fan motor 10. To increase this effect, openings 21 are placed on the end plate 15 for the left bearing of the fan motor, which correspond to openings on the support plate 8 of the fan.
Since the support disk also has fan blades 22 on the left side, cooling air is sucked in through these fan blades and through the openings mentioned, which comes into closer contact with the stator iron and with the windings of the fan motor 10. This cooling air passes through the openings 23 (partly openings 6 and thus into the inside of the machine.
In the arrangement shown, the filter 7.7 has an opening in the middle through which a mounting flange 24 protrudes. This mounting flange carries a bearing 25 for a shaft 26, which passes through the hollow shaft 9 of the fan motor and which is finitely coupled to the shaft 27 of the three-phase auxiliary motor. This arrangement is. intended. in order to be able to couple a Taehometermasehine or a brake monitor to the shaft of the three-phase auxiliary motor.
In order to avoid that the cooling air is sucked in by bypassing the filter 17 at the inner opening of the filter or at the outer circumference and to avoid shaking noises, rubber seals 28 and 29 are arranged in the vicinity of these parts ..
