Demonstration model of at least one shock-absorbing bearing for a timepiece The present invention relates to a demonstration model of at least one shock-absorbing bearing for a timepiece.
This model is characterized by the fact that it includes elements whose thickness is small compared to the other two dimensions, arranged on a support so as to represent an axial section of the bearing as well as the shaft pivoted in this bearing, the some being movable on said support and the others fixed, all in such a way that by moving the element representing the shaft, movements of the movable elements are produced, thus showing the operation of the bearing.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the model.
Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof, and FIG. 3 is a sectional section taken along the line 111-111 of FIG. 1, in which the thickness of the various members has been greatly increased in order to improve the clarity of the drawing.
The demonstration model shown comprises a base plate 1 having a peripheral rim 2, forming a spacer, on which is fixed an upper plate 3. This rim can be replaced by four studs located at quatre.angles. The various organs of the model are made of plastic; they can be made of metal, except for the upper plate 3 which is transparent.
Between the plates 1 and 3 are arranged elements whose thickness is small compared to the other two dimensions, intended to represent the axial section of two clockwork bearings located in the same axis. The elements 4 and 5 each represent the section of a bearing support intended to be driven into a cock, respectively a clockwork movement plate; these elements 4 and 5 have the same thickness as the rim 2; they are glued to the plates 1 and 3, which prevents them from moving. Elements 6, 7 and 8, the thickness of which is less than the distance between the plates 1 and 3, are arranged between these plates.
These elements represent respectively, for each of the bearings., A bearing body, a drilled stone and a counter-pivot stone: they can move freely between plates 1 and 3 and are returned to the centered position by two elastic strips 9 showing the two parts appearing in axial section of a bearing spring. The end of these tabs in contact with part 4, respectively 5, has the thickness of these latter parts, so that these tabs are kept in place, but the rest is thinner so that they can be pulled together. move by deforming elastically.
Finally, the model comprises a thin element 10 representing the shaft of a balance pivoted between the two bearings, and which has two perpendicular arms 10a representing the balance itself. The framing part 2 is interrupted in the vicinity of the ends of the arms 10a and the plate 3 has, at these places, a clearance 11 which makes it possible to reach the ends of these arms with the finger. It is thus possible to manually move the shaft 1 0 , which produces the displacement of the thin elements of the model, which represent the moving elements of the bearing.
The fi-. 2 illustrates the model as it appears when the shaft 10 is made to perform a tilting movement in a clockwise direction. We see that this model illustrates, in a very suggestive way, the multi-step operation of the two shock-absorbing bearings.
When the ends of the arms 10a are released, the elastic lamellae 9 return the movable elements of the bearing and consequently the shaft 10 to a centered position. In order to make the model as demonstrative as possible, the various elements will preferably be of different colors.
In the event that the model is placed in a display case, for example, a mechanical device can be provided for producing the movements of the element 10 representing the balance shaft.
