Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer neuen quaternären Ammoniumverindung
Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer neuen quaternären Ammoniumverbindung, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man auf den 2,3-Dioxy-propyläther des m-Dimethylamino- phenols Methylbromid einwirken lässt. Die Anlagerung erfolgt meist schon in der Kälte; sie wird durch Erwärmen beschleunigt und vervollständigt Die Quaternisierung kann in An oder Abwesenheit eines Lösungs- oder Verdünnungsmittels, wie Methanol, Äilyl alkohol, Aceton, Benzol, Toluol oder dergleichen, vorgenommen werden.
Die neue Verbindung soll für therapeutische Zwecke Verwendung finden.
Beispiel
211 Teile 2, 3-Dioxy-propyl-äther des m-Dimethylamino-phenols werden in 800 Teilen Benzol gelöst und mit einer Lösung von 100 Teilen Brommethyl in 500 Teilen Benzol versetzt; das Reaktionsgemisch wird 12 Stunden bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur stehengelassen und hernach 4 Stunden unter Rühren auf 50 erwärmt. Nach dem Abkühlen scheidet sich das Methylbromid des 2,3-Dioxy-propyl- m.-dimethylamino-phenyläthers kristallinisch ab; es schmilzt bei 168/169 , ist in Wasser und Alkohol löslich, in Benzol schwer lös lich.
PATENTANSPRUCH
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer neuen quaternären Ammoniumverbindung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man den 2,3-Dioxy-pro- pyläther des m-Dimethylamino-phenols mit Methylbromid behandelt.

211 parts of 2,3-dioxy-propyl-ether of m-dimethylaminophenol are dissolved in 800 parts of benzene and mixed with a solution of 100 parts of bromomethyl in 500 parts of benzene; the reaction mixture is left to stand for 12 hours at ordinary temperature and then heated to 50 for 4 hours with stirring. After cooling, the methyl bromide of 2,3-dioxy-propyl-m.-dimethylaminophenyl ether separates out in crystalline form; it melts at 168/169, is soluble in water and alcohol, and sparingly soluble in benzene.
