Method for controlling the flow cross section of injection nozzles for internal combustion engines and injection nozzle for carrying out the method The subject matter of the present invention is a method for controlling the flow cross section of injection nozzles of internal combustion engines as a function of the fuel pressure acting on the control member of the nozzle, according to which the control element moves discontinuously with constantly increasing fuel pressure,
so that there is a first stroke path, in which a flow cross-section is released for a pre-injection, during a second fuel gap area with a constant flow cross-section, and thereupon leads a further stroke path in which the flow cross-section increases to that required for the main injection Cross-section is enlarged.
The invention also relates to an injection nozzle for internal combustion engines for carrying out the method according to the invention, with. a control element, which is moved against spring forces under the action of the fuel pressure and progressively releases the flow cross section for the fuel to be injected.
This injection nozzle is characterized by the fact that the control element in its closed position and during a first stroke is influenced by a spring force that is 30 to 700 / a of the spring force, which is during a second Stroke acts on the same, so that at the beginning of the injection with a small stroke of the control element, only a small amount of fuel initially emerges from the nozzle at low pressure and the control element is only moved further after a substantial increase in the fuel pressure.
In the following description, the method according to the invention and embodiments of injection nozzles, for example, will be described using the drawing.
Fig. 1 is a diagram on which the injection amount, based on the crank angle, is shown.
Fig. 2 is a diagram showing the relationship between fuel pressure and passage cross section.
FIGS. 3-6 show various exemplary embodiments of injection nozzles.
In Fig. 1, the injection quantity curve (3), based on the crank degree (W), in a control method of known type. And in the method according to the invention by the two curves 40 and 41 illustrated, the curve 40 the ratios in the known and curve 41 shows the relationships in the method according to the invention.
As can be seen from the diagram, the method according to the invention works with an actual pre-injection, which is represented by the distance a-d-e and extends over the crank angle a to i. The pilot injection starts at a. At. d. the cross section required for the pre-injection is fully controlled.
It cannot be exceeded until point e. The main injection begins at point e, where f corresponds to the point of full control of the cross section required for the main injection. At g the closing process by the control unit starts, -and at h the injection process is ended ..
Fig. 2 shows the relationship between the fuel pressure (P) required for control and the passage cross-section (Q), namely the distance 1c to d corresponds to the passage cross-section that is required for optimal engine stability during the distance k to m corresponds to the total passage cross-section.
Point n corresponds to the spout pressure (first opening pressure) of a conventional needle nozzle. Line 44 shows the pressure difference (p minus 7z) required to open a conventional injection nozzle. Line 45 illustrates the pressure curve of the method according to the invention that is necessary for control.
As can be seen from the diagram, is. the pressure difference (o minus n) is required to open the cross-section required for the pre-injection. During this first pressure range, the flow cross section of the injection nozzle increases. Before the opening of the main flow cross section is initiated, the pressure must increase from 0 to q, the flow cross section remaining constant during this second pressure range.
The very low drainage difference (r- minus q) is sufficient to control the main flow cross-section during the third pressure range, during which the flow cross-section is increased again and during which the main part of the fuel is injected under high pressure.
In the example of the injection nozzle according to FIG. 3, the nozzle body 1 has the bore 2 formed as a spring space and the bore -1 serving as a guide for the needle 3. In the bore 2, the main spring 5 is strongly pre-tensioned and the additional spring 6, which is far weaker than this, is arranged, the spring 5 striving to press the plate 8 provided with a shaft 7 against the upper face of the sleeve 9. The sleeve 9 surrounds the spring 6. The latter rests on the one hand against the plate 8 and, on the other hand, presses the needle 3 onto its seat 13 by means of the ring 11.
The fuel is fed to the recess 15 through the Bohrunä 16 and exits through the injection holes 14. Between the needle 3 and the plate 8 and between the shaft. 7 and the upper end wall of the bore 2, the stroke paths X, and X2 are provided. Hole 50 is. the leakage oil line.
The device according to FIG. 3 works as follows: In the drawing, the nozzle is shown in the closed position. If fuel flows through the line 16 into the space 1: 5, the needle 3 is lifted from its seat 13 against the pressure of the spring 6, the spring force of which is 30 = 70% of the spring force of the spring 5, and is pushed very slightly upwards, until the needle 3 comes to rest on the underside of the plate 8 after passing through the stroke path X 1.
In the case of the diesel first part of the injection, only a small amount of fuel flows out of the spray holes 14 at low pressure when the stroke of the control member 3 is short. In order to overcome the great pretensioning force of the strong spring 5, the fuel pressure in the space 15 must rise so strongly that a period of time arises as is necessary to achieve a sufficiently long pre-injection. After this high fuel pressure is exceeded, the nozzle needle 3 is quickly moved upwards.
The flat characteristics of the spring 5 has. As a result, a smaller amount is sufficient until the shaft 7 of the plate 8 comes to rest against the upper end wall of the bore 2 after having passed through the stroke path X2. As a result of this greater lifting of the needle 3, the passage cross-section for the main injection is released, which takes place quickly as a result of the high pressure drop.
The execution according to Pig. 4 corresponds in its lower part to that of FIG. 3. In the bore 2 of the nozzle body 1, the main spring 5 and additional spring 6 are provided, which are supported here against the end faces of the bore 2 and act on the plate 8 and 20, respectively. The balance of forces of the springs 5 and 6 acting in the opposite sense on the needle 3 is such that when the plate is in the closed position, the plates 8 and 20 rest against one another and the needle 3 is pressed onto its seat 13 . becomes.
Between the plate 20 and the end face of the sleeve 21 and between tween the shaft 7 and the upper end wall of the bore 2, the stroke paths X1 and X2 exist.
The injection nozzle according to FIG. 4 acts in a similar way to the nozzle according to FIG. 3, with only the needle 3 being lifted from its seat 13 against the force of 30-70% of the spring force of the spring 5, the springs 5 and 6 being lifted is pushed up a little until the plate 20 comes to rest on the bushing 21 after going through the stroke X.
The further mode of operation is true, as has been described with reference to FIG.
5 shows a pin nozzle in which the needle 3 outside the seat 13 has the pin 17 and the fuel flows out through the injection holes 14. In the closed position shown, there are needle between the nozzle. 3 and your plate 8 on the one hand and between the shaft 7 and the upper end wall of the bore 2, the Ilubwege X, and X2 are present. The first needle stroke X1 is kept slightly smaller than the length 1 of the pin 17; it also has a very specific relationship to the diameter of the needle shaft 3.
The mode of action is. the following: Flows the room 15 fuel. to, the needle 3 is raised until the stroke X1 is run through. As a result of the predetermined ratio between the diameter of the Na, delsehaftes 3 and the first stroke X1 of the needle, the same amount of fuel escapes when it traverses this stroke. The pressure rise in room 15 and the opening of the main passage cross-section are delayed accordingly. Since the stroke X1 is somewhat smaller than the length 1 of the pin 17, the throttling necessary to increase the pressure is obtained.
After overcoming the force of the strongly pre-tensioned spring 5, the needle 3 is then quickly moved upwards until the shaft 7 comes to rest after passing through the stroke path X2, with the increased lifting of the needle 3, the main portion of the stored fuel under high pressure from the Injection holes 14 occurs.
In the cross-section regulating nozzle according to FIG. 6, the bushings 24 and 25 are provided in the bore 2 of the nozzle body 1, between which the plate 26 is arranged. When the nozzle is in the closed position, this is held against the lower end face of the bushing 24 by the strongly pretensioned spring 27. The spring 28 is supported on the upper side of the plate 26. It strives to hold the conical, lower part 31 of the needle 30 against the seat 32 through the intermediary of the sleeve 29. The needle 30 has the grooves 33 in its downwardly directed part.
When the nozzle is in the closed position, there are stroke paths X1 and X2 between the support plate 26 and the sleeve 29 on the one hand and between the plate 26 and the sleeve 25 on the other. The fuel is the bore 2 through the line 34 leads.
The drawn in Fig. 6 in the closed position designated nozzle works as follows. Fuel flows through line 34 into space 2, after overcoming the small force of the spring 28, the needle 30 is pushed downwards until the sleeve 29 comes to rest on the plate 26 after the stroke X1 has passed. In the case of diesel part of the injection, only a small amount of fuel flows along the grooves 33, in accordance with the small opening cross-section, at low pressure from the nozzle.
As a result of the following substantial increase in fuel pressure in chamber 2 and in grooves 33, after overcoming the force of the strongly pretensioned spring 27, the needle 30 is quickly shifted downward until the plate 26 rests on the sleeve 25 after passing through the stroke path X2 comes. This enlargement of the exit cross-section means that the majority of the stored fuel is sprayed out under high pressure.
