Timepiece comprising an instantaneous date The present invention relates to a timepiece, preferably with an alarm clock, comprising an instantaneous date, the date holder disc of which is integral with a ratchet, and a manual correcting device.
This timepiece is characterized by the fact that the frame carries a main oscillating lever which has a control finger for said ratchet, and by the fact that a movable element in contact with a stepped spiral cam making a revolution. in 24 hours, is elastically connected to the main lever which is biased by a return spring intended to produce the sudden advance of the control finger when the movable element falls in said step.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention, consisting of an alarm clock.
Fig. 1 is a front elevational view, cut away, of this embodiment. Fig. 2 is an elevational view of the front part of the clock, looking along the arrows A-A of FIG. 4.
Fig. 3 represents the part of the movement which faces the dial, the latter being removed. Fig. 4 is a section taken along line IV-IV of FIG. 3.
In the example shown, the case comprises a cylindrical part containing the movement itself M and a front part made up of two square support plates hollowed out in the center, 2 and 3, the plate 2 being fixed to the movement cage. by screws passing through the perforations 4 of the plate and engaging in corresponding holes 5 of the plate 6 of the movement.
The center axis 7 of the movement carries, idle rise, a ring triggering wheel 8 having a latch 9 and meshing with the teeth of an intermediate mobile 10 whose pinion 11 drives a toothed wheel 12 at the speed of one turn in 24 hours. This toothed wheel 12 is integral with a spiraloid cam 13 having a step 14 (FIGS. 2 and 3). An elastic tongue 15 axially urges the trigger wheel 8 against a wheel 16 for setting the alarm time, according to a known arrangement.
The plate 2 supports a ratchet 17 integral with a date carrier disc 18, the indications of which are visible through a window 19 of the dial 20. The ratchet 17 and disc 18 assembly freely rotates around a barrel 50 belonging to the wheel 16 ringtone setting. This gun 50 surrounds the gun 21

hours which is crossed by the center axis 7 of the clock. The roadway and the fixing of the hour and minute hands have not been shown in FIG. 4.
A pawl 22 with spring 23 mounted on the outer face of the square plate 2 prevents retrograde rotation of the ratchet 17.
A main oscillating lever L is mounted on a pivot 24 fixed in the plate 2 and in the plate 6 of the movement. This main lever has near the pivot 24 a bent portion 25 directed radially and ending in a fork 26 between the branches of which penetrates a radial finger 27 which carries a control shaft 28 passing through the movement and provided on the outside of the box a correction button 29.
At its end remote from the pivot 24, the main lever L carries a control finger 30 passing through an opening 31 of the plate 2 to engage with the ratchet 17 of the date disc. This finger 30 forms part of an oscillating part 32 mounted on a pivot screw 33 of the lever L. This part 32 carries a tenon 34 to which is attached the movable end of a return spring 35, the other end of which is connected to a fixed pin 36. The lever L has an elastic support tongue 37 fixed by a screw 38 and constantly applied against an auxiliary lever 39.
This auxiliary lever 39, mounted on the pivot 24, carries a pin 40 penetrating an opening 41 of the main lever in order to limit the relative angular displacements of the two levers L and 39. This auxiliary lever 39 is in contact through its thinned end with the cam 13 by the action of the tongue 37.
During each period of 24 hours, the cam 13 turns one turn in the direction of the arrow FI and, by means of the auxiliary lever 39, pushes the assembly of the levers L and 39 en bloc in the direction of the arrow. F., around pivot 24.
The control finger 30 is thus moved along the arrow F; of a quantity a little greater than the step of. the ratchet toothing when the step 1-4 of the cam 13 arrives opposite the tip of the auxiliary lever 39. As soon as this tip falls into the step 14, the lever L is returned by the spring 35 and the control finger 30 engages in the following hollow of the ratchet toothing 17 then suddenly drives the latter by one tooth, along arrow FI. It is the passage of the instantaneous date.
To correct the date indication after the end of the month having less than 31 days, the operator turns the corrector button 29 in a direction such that the radial finger 27, acting on the fork 26, turns the main lever according to the arrow F; so that the control finger 30 is placed in front of the following hollow of the ratchet teeth 17. It then turns the button 29 in the opposite direction to make the main lever oscillate in the direction of the arrow F, and imperatively cause the advance a division of the date disc 18 even if, at the start of this operation, the auxiliary lever 39 was in contact with a part more or less distant from the step 14 of the spiral cam 13.
In such a case, the operation of the main lever according to the arrow F4 by the corrective device 29-27-26, produces a bending of the elastic tongue 37, the amplitude of which depends on the angular position of the cam 13. The corrective device can therefore act effectively on the date disc 18, whatever the angular position of the spiraloid cam 13-14.
Of course, if the operator makes the correction shortly after midnight, it will suffice for him to turn the knob 29 in the appropriate direction to determine a small rotation of the main lever L along the arrow F; then to release said button. The passage of the date determined by a subsequent rotation of the lever L in the direction F is then produced automatically by the return spring 35.
