<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to an alarm watch comprising a single control member for winding, setting the time, moving the alarm hand and stopping the ringing, this member being constituted by the winding stem whose zipper acts on a sliding pinion by means of a lever.
This alarm clock is characterized in that said lever has an arm carrying at its free end a pawl, the nose of which is intended to act on a toothed wheel controlling the alarm hand, the whole arranged in such a way that when the rod winding position is in its winding position, its rotation in the opposite direction of winding causes a back and forth movement of the rocker following the unclipping of the teeth of the sliding pinion on the teeth of the winding pinion, this movement of the rocker producing in turn, by means of said pawl, the movement of the wake-up needle.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the alarm clock object of the invention. Only what is necessary for understanding the invention has been shown in the drawing.
The single figure is a plan view, taken from the dial side, of this embodiment. The winding stem 1, terminated by the crown 2, is mounted as usual so as to be able to slide axially in the plate 3. It has a groove 4 in which the stud of a zipper 5 pivoting at 6 is engaged. In a recess 7 of the plate 3 is arranged a rocker 8 pivoting on a bearing screw 9 taking in the plate 3. The rocker 8 is constituted by a lever with three arms, 8a, 8b and 8c.
The arm 8a is subjected to the action of a spring 10 bearing in the recess 7 and tending to rotate the lever 8 in the counterclockwise direction of the figure. The arm 8b is shaped to be able to engage in the usual way in the groove of a sliding pinion 11 fitted on a square 12 of the winding stem 1. The sliding pinion 11 has the two usual teeth, namely a Breguet toothing in engagement with the winding pinion 13 mounted idle on the winding stem 1, and a field toothing intended to cause a time-setting reference 14 when the stem 1 is pulled into the time-setting position.
Instead of carrying a pin engaging in the notches of a pull tab spring, the pull tab 5 has a heel 15 penetrating into one or the other of the notches 25, 26 that the lever 8 has, depending on whether the rod 1 is in the winding or time-setting position.
The third arm 8c of the rocker 8, slightly bent in two places, is directed approximately towards the center of the movement and carries at its free end a pawl 16
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
pivoting freely on a screw with span 17 taking in the arm 8c. The pawl 16 carries a stud 18 in which is clamped a wire spring 19, the free end of which bears against the screw 9; the spring 19 tends to keep the nose 20 of the pawl 16 engaged in the teeth of the trigger wheel 21 of the alarm mechanism, integral with the alarm needle 22.
The teeth of the wheel 21 are toothed and very fine. The trigger of the alarm mechanism is schematically represented at 23. The operation is as follows When the rod 1 is in the depressed position (winding position shown in the drawing), the movement is rewound by rotating the rod 1 in the direction usual direct; the sliding pinion 11 then turns in the same direction and is kept in engagement with the winding pinion 13 by the arm 8b of the lever 8 subjected to the action of the spring 10. The winding pinion 13 is driven by means of Breguet teeth of parts 11 and 13. The lever 8 remains stationary during this operation.
If the rod 1 is turned in the retrograde direction, the sliding pinion 11 is driven in the same direction, so that its Breguet teeth snap on that of the winding pinion 13, the spring 10 constantly tending to bring the two parts 11 and 13. The result is that the rocker 8 performs a back and forth movement of low amplitude around the screw 9.
During this movement, the pawl is successively pushed forward and brought back, so that its nose 20, engaged in the teeth of the wheel 21 under the action of the spring 19, causes the wheel 21 to advance step by step in counterclockwise in the figure, driving the wake-up needle 22 at the same time.
A movement of greater amplitude can be communicated to the lever 8 by pulling the rod 1 into the time-setting position and pushing it back into the winding position. By repeating this movement several times, the alarm hand 22 can be moved very quickly. To obtain fine adjustment of the hand 22, the rod 1 is brought back to the winding position and it is slowly rotated in the retrograde direction; the adjustment of the needle 22 can then be done very exactly.
To operate the time setting of the hands of the watch, not shown in the drawing, the rod 1 is pulled out as usual. The zipper 5 turns the lever 8 clockwise and the latter brings the sliding pinion 11 into engagement with the time setting transmission 14. The time setting can then be carried out in both directions. .
It is advisable to adjust the position of the alarm hand 22 after the possible setting of the time of the watch hands, because, as already mentioned above, the traction of the rod 1 modifies the position of the clock. needle 22.
When the watch is running, after having been wound up, the hour wheel (not shown) turns and its lugs end up falling into the notches of the trigger wheel 21. At this time, the trigger 23 moves under the action of its sound. spring 24 and unlocks the striking hammer, so that the bell rings. To stop the ringing, it suffices to turn the rod 1 by a small angle in a retrograde direction, which moves the wheel 21 and the needle 22.
The watch described may have a motor-barrel for the movement and a motor-barrel for the alarm mechanism, the two springs being wound up simultaneously, by means of the winding pinion 13, by means of a known foreign device. to invention; in this case, means are provided to prevent overvoltage of one of the springs when the other is already fully loaded.
In another embodiment, a single motor barrel can be provided for driving the movement and the alarm mechanism. A stopping mechanism is then provided to limit the duration of the strike, so that the spring remains sufficiently charged to ensure the running of the movement of the watch.
It can be seen that the alarm watch described and shown has a single wedge member.

command, namely rod 1, to operate all the necessary functions, namely winding, setting the time, moving the alarm hand and stopping the chime. There is therefore a single opening in the caseband, which makes it easy to make a waterproof watch.
