Sanding cylinder, especially for sanding wood When using sanding paper as a sanding element, it is common practice to attach it to the sanding cylinder and tension it. This is done by the fact that the paper is either fastened to a pressure bar with screws and tensioned by countersinking the latter in a groove in the cylinder, or it is wrapped around the cylinder in a spiral, gaiter-like manner and by tensioning straps or tension rings at the end of the cylinder curious; excited.
The sandpaper can be fastened according to another known execution form in clamping strips and tensioned by a lever mechanism, or it is clamped in a round rod and tensioned by twisting the latter, which is located in a cavity inside the cylinder, in which the paper by a Slot to be introduced. Finally, an endless paper is drawn over the circumference of the cylinder, which is designed as a rubber jacket, and then the entire cylinder is blown up, although there is no guarantee of precise concentricity. The previously common sandpaper covering of the sanding cylinder is often complicated and time-consuming.
The invention relates to a grinding cylinder, in particular for grinding wood, with at least one slot for clamping a grinding element, which, in order to avoid the disadvantage of the known cylinder, is characterized in that the slot opens into a cavity which has at least one to take up a pressure by means of certain stretchable and ass clamping means for the grinding element contains hose, as well as for the arrangement of means intended for determining the ends of the grinding element, such as
that under the action of the pressure medium the hose causes the tensioning of the grinding element.
In the drawing, four exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are each shown in a partial section.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the grinding cylinder is denoted by 1, which is provided with a cavity part 6 that is accessible from the outside through a slot.
The sandpaper 2 is seen ver at both ends in a device with clamping strips 3 and then pushed in the axial direction over the cylinder 1, the one strips 3 in the cavity part 6 and the other strips 3 in a together with the part 6 the hollow space-forming groove 7 below the part 6 are introduced. In the cavity part 6 is a for receiving .eines pressure medium, for. B. compressed air or hydraulic fluid, certain hose 5 accommodated.
By filling the hose 5 with the pressure medium, it expands and tensions the sandpaper 2. by maintaining the strips 3 unchanged in their position according to FIG. 7, while the part of the sandpaper lying over the hose is bulged out due to the stretching of the hose.
In the embodiment of the grinding cylinder according to FIG. 2, the two ends of the sanding paper are clamped between strips 3 arranged next to one another in the cavity part 6. There are two hoses 5 which, when filled with the pressure medium, cause the sanding paper lying on the jacket of the sanding cylinder 1 to be tensioned by pushing the clamping strips 3 downwards towards the bottom of the cavity part 6.
The embodiment of the grinding cylinder 1 according to FIG. 4 differs from the one according to FIG. 2 in that instead of two hoses, only one hose 5 located in the cavity part 6 is provided on the clamping strips, so that when this hose is stretched under the action of the pressure medium, the clamping of the grinding member 2 is carried out by shifting the locking means and simultaneous Ausbuch th of the grinding member.
The two ends of the sandpaper 3 can also be firmly clamped by means of wedges 4 according to FIG. 3, which are inserted into the groove 7 ben. The tensioning of the sandpaper he follows in an analogous manner to the Ausfüh approximate form of FIG. 1 by bulging the overlying: the hose 5 lying parts when the hose is stretched by the introduction of pressure.
It has been shown that the sanding paper can be stretched onto the sanding cylinder in a much shorter time than is the case with the known sanding cylinders, and that even clamping is achieved at every point.
The grinding cylinder can, depending on requirements, have two or more cavities for accommodating the clamping means for the sanding paper ends and the hose or hoses, and the hose or hoses can be removed from the cavities or in them be attached.
