Description

Post Support The object of the present invention is a post support.

This support is characterized by the fact that it comprises a reinforced concrete base, intended to carry the post, the lower base of which rests on the upper base of the plinth, and means of fixing the post consisting of two groups of vertical angle irons , the base has, below and around this base, radial ribs along each of which can slide horizontally a vertical angle iron of the first group of which a first wing rests against the rib, while the other wing, perpendicular to this rib, extends outwardly with respect to the latter, this first angle iron projecting upwards from the base of the post and carrying, fixed to its first wing, a vertical angle iron of the second group,

one wing of which is applied against the aforementioned first wing while the other wing is tangent to the post to be fixed, the whole so that this base can be used with posts of different diameters.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the support forming the subject of the present invention.

Fig. 1 is an elevational view thereof, a post being mounted on the support; fig. 2 is a top plan, the post removed; fig. 3 is a detail of FIG. 2, on a larger scale.

The support shown is formed of a reinforced concrete base composed of a truncated cone 1 intended to be buried in the earth and a head 2 on the upper base 3 of which rests, by its lower base, the post 4 The base has, below and around the base 3, four radial ribs 5. The support also comprises means for fixing the post consisting of two groups of vertical angle irons. The angle irons 6 of the first group can each slide horizontally along one of the ribs 5.

The fixing of each angle iron 6 is done by means of bolts 7 and nuts 8, the rod of each bolt being able to move in a horizontal groove 9 of the rib. One of the wings 6a of the angle iron is applied against the rib, while the other, 6b, perpendicular to this rib, extends outwardly with respect to the latter. Each iron 6 exceeds the base 3 of the base, and carries, welded to it, another vertical angle iron 10 of the second group; one of the wings 10a of this iron is in contact with the wing 6a of the lower iron, while the other wing 10b is tangent to the post. The latter is thus clamped between the four bars 10; to adapt the position of these to the diameter of the post, it suffices to move the irons 6 in the aforementioned grooves 9.
