Machine for binding books by gluing The invention relates to a machine for binding books by gluing, comprising a carousel table which is rotated in continuous rotary motion about a vertical axis and has a plurality of perforations for inserting packets of printed sheets, which are guided one after the other over different workplaces during one revolution of the carton disk, at which the printed sheets are pushed open, the spines are milled, stolen and glued,
This is followed by a cover tacking and pressing device. The machine according to the invention is characterized in that the cover tacking and pressing device has a cover stacking device and a Deelienanpressvorriehtung arranged behind, these devices are arranged together under the carousel disk and are driven so
that every point of the priority rule bear an elliptical movement on a vertical one. Zvlinderfläclte executes.
l: in the embodiment of the subject invention is shown in the drawing. 1 shows a floor plan of the machine in a schematic and simplified representation, FIG. 2 shows a development in a vertical plane to represent the individual workplaces.
FIG. 13 shows a section along the line III-III from FIG. 2 to illustrate how the elliptical movement of the support block 1.9 in the area of the work stations F, G comes about. A carousel table 1 is continuously rotated at a constant speed around a stationary vertical axis 2 by drive elements not provided. It has a plurality of perforations 3 which are rectangular in outline and into which the books 4 or the superimposed and folded printed sheets which are subsequently intended to form the book are inserted. are.
As radially movable pressing members for Festklem men the Bügher or Drtickbogenpakete 4 in the Durchbreehungen 3 plates 5, which are each screwed to a radially movable back and forth in the carousel table bolt 6, it is possible by turning the dials 7, the effective length adjust the bolt 6 to the book thickness. The inner ends of the bolts 6 rest under spring tension on the circumferential surface of a control disk 8, which is fixed on the axis 2 and therefore stands still.
This control disk is shaped and set in such a way that the press plates 5 are loosened at certain points and pressed outwards at other points.
In Fig. 1, the individual jobs are denoted by letters, and in the development of Fig. 2 the same letters are entered at the corresponding point: At job A, the clamping plates 5 are released, so that there the printed sheet packages 4 can be inserted with the back down. The backs of the printed sheets come to rest on a vibration table 9 which is set in vibration by a vibrator 10 so that the sheets are neatly pushed open.
The upper side of the vibrating table lies slightly below the lower side of the clamping plates 5. When the printing sheet package 4 arrives at point B, the clamping plate 5 is pressed firmly, and in this state the book spine is diametrically positioned over the, rotating about a vertical shaft, out on its upper side with milling cutter 11, which is located at point C. First, the back of the sheet is milled off so that every single sheet is free.
The milling knives on the back of the press in the opposite direction cross the milled spine of the book and cause the B-L spine to be roughened. Since the cutter 11 mills the bundles up to the lower edge of the clamping plate 5 and a counter-plate, it is imperative that the outermost sheets of the book block are also cut off in a clean, straight cut.
At point D, a fixed table 12 is again arranged below the clamping plates, and above this table the clamping plate 5 is temporarily released so that the book block falls down onto this table surface.
At the point E, where the printed sheet packs are pressed tightly again, a gluing apparatus consisting of two glue application rollers 13 rotating on horizontal radial shafts and a glue container 14 arranged below is arranged.
The glue rollers have circumferential recesses 13a so that they can only produce a glue surface of limited length. They are set individually on their shafts so that together they wet each book spine with glue over its entire length. Since the spine of the book at the Beleimturgsstelle E under the lower. Reach down the edges of the clamping plates 5, there is no risk that these clamping plates will be soiled with glue.
After this glue point E, the book block becomes a Deekenanheft. and fixed pressing apparatus, which has a ceiling stacking device F and a Deekenanpressvorriehtung G arranged behind it, which are arranged together in the block 19 under the corrugated disk.
At the point F is a stack of Blielicleelien 15, which are carried by a carrier 16, which looks after Wegnahnie a book cover under the action of a crotch holder 17 and a spring 18 against the block 19 lifts by a Buehdeelzenclieke.
With the block 19, the Deekenanpressvorriehtun g 20 is connected at the point G aueli, which consists of clamping jaws which press the book cover from below and from the side on the spine.
Each point of the block 19 and thus the devices F and G, under the action of corresponding drive and guide organs, perform an elliptical movement on a vertical cylinder surface, as indicated by the ellipse 21 drawn in FIG the block makes one revolution while a book 4 covers the path from the cover stack 15 to the press block 20.
According to the floor plan of Figure 3 is. the block 19 in a vertical guide 191 of a housing 192 movable up and down, which housing about the central, vertical drive axis 2 of the carousel table 1 is pivotable. Via a bevel gear 193 and a crank gear 194 the block 19 is forced to an up and down oscillating movement in the guide 191.
Via the two bevel gears 195, 196 as well as the crank mechanism 197 and the ball joint 198, a visual swing movement in the horizontal direction is imposed on the housing 192, from which the above-mentioned elliptical movement for the block 19 results from the combination of these two swing movements.
So when a book is pushed by the carousel sc-lily over the elliptical trajectory point 21a, lifts. See the block 19, so that one reaches the highest point in the elliptical balin point 21b and then drops back to the elliptical tap point 21e.
At the same time, however, the blanket stack 15 and the buelib movement on the carousel run with it, so that a book from the stack 15 takes a blanket with it because it sticks to the glued-in book spine, while the press beams 20 on the preceding buelirüli:
- Press down the ceiling that was previously only glued on. While the block 19 moves back over the elliptical point 21d see down and later up again, so that neither the ceiling stack 15 nor the pressing, # orriehtung in operative connection with.
If the books 4 remain, a new book comes from the gluing point F to the stack 15, and the stack 15 succeeds. the book carrying the top cover into the starting zone of the area of the pressing device.
At point II finally become. the small inniplatten 5 loosened again so that the finished books 4 can fall out on a filing table 22.
