Watertight winding device for watch The present invention relates to a watertight winding device for a watch, comprising a tubular element connected in a watertight manner to the watch case, integral with the latter at least in rotation, and that a hollow winding crown, fixed to the winding stem, surrounds so as to form an annular space between said element and an inner cylindrical wall of said crown.
In known devices of this type, sealing is generally ensured by a plastic gasket, housed in said annular space and fixed in a leaktight manner to the winding crown, the dimensions of this gasket as well as the fixing of the latter to the winding crown. the crown being such that this gasket comes into contact with said tubular element so as to form a tight seal. Besides the fact that these sealing gaskets are subject to wear and require from time to time the replacement of the crown, it has been observed that they attack said tubular element after a certain time.
As the latter must be driven into an opening in the watch case or at least connected to it in a watertight manner, the repairer cannot undertake the replacement of this element satisfactorily with the tools he has. normally available. The aim of the invention is to remedy this drawback. The device, object of the invention, is characterized by a seal housed in said annular space, fixed in a sealed manner to said tubular element, and subjected to the action of elastic means which compress it axially,
this lining by coming into contact in a sealed manner with said inner cylindrical wall of the crown.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object device of the invention. hg. 1 is an axial section of the device according to the first embodiment; fig. 2 is a plan view of the device of FIG. 1, with the crown and the remon toir stem removed, and fig. 3 is an axial section, similar to that of FIG. 1, of the device according to the second embodiment.
In the first embodiment (fig. 1 and 2), the device shown comprises a tube 1, a cylindrical bearing 2 of which is forced into an opening of the box of my being not shown, so that the tube 1 forms a waterproof seal with this box. This device further comprises a winding crown 3 in which an annular recess 4 is made so as to form a barrel 5, which is threaded to allow the attachment of this crown to the end of the winding stem 6 of the watch. .
Note that the ring 3 and the tube 1 are coaxial and define an annular space 9 between the inner cylindrical wall 7 of the ring and an outer cylindrical wall 8 of the tube 1. This space 9 is almost entirely closed by a shoulder 10 of the tube 1. A seal 11, forming a tight seal with the tube 1, is placed around the latter, in the space 9, against the shoulder 10. This seal 11 is compressed axially by a wavy annular spring 12 placed between a latch 13 and a ring 14. The latter, which is arranged between the spring 12 and the gasket 11, is designed to evenly distribute the pressure of the spring 12 on the gasket 11.
The lock 13 is formed by an open ring, visible in FIG. 2, engaged in a groove 15 made all around the tube 1. The ring 13 is open in particular over a sufficient sector so that it can be put in place or removed by transverse movement relative to the tube 1. It will be noted, however, that the opening angle cannot exceed 110. Indeed, the ends of the latch 13 must still serve as a support for the corrugated parts of the spring 12, which are arranged 1200 from each other. This res out 12 has in particular three undulated parts coming into contact with the latch 13, as well as three corrugated parts coming into contact with the ring 14, these six corrugated parts being arranged alternately in a regular manner at the periphery of the spring 12.
It is thus noted that the angular position of the latch 13 relative to the spring 12 is well determined. Although the axial pressure of the spring 12 against the latch 13 is sufficient to generate a friction intended to prevent any rotation of one of these elements with respect to the other, it could however be useful to avoid any relative rotation in practice. ticking bosses in the latch 13, intended to form housings for the three wavy parts of the spring 12 which come into contact with the latch 13. Under the effect of the axial compression due to the spring 12, the gasket 11 comes into contact with the latch 13. contact with the wall 7 of the crown 3, forming a tight seal with the latter.
As the lining 11 is in contact on three sides with elements integral with the tube 1, a rotation of the crown 3 cannot cause it, so that the friction necessary to allow the various displacements of the crown takes place along the surface of the lining 11, which is in contact with the wall 7. Wear of the crown 3 or of the lining 11 is automatically compensated for by the spring 12.
It will be noted in this form of execution, that the crown 3, as well as the trim 11, can be replaced as needed, without it being necessary to resort to a special or tillage. The crown 3 is in fact put in place like ordinary non-waterproof crowns. As for the gasket 11, it suffices to remove the bolt 13 to be able to separate it without further from the tube 1. The latter, not undergoing any friction, we see that its special shape does not have consequences, because the rha - biller will never be called upon to replace him.
Any elastic material can be used for the lining 11. However, nylon will be preferred because of the precision with which this product can be machined.
The outer edge 16 of the crown recess is slightly rounded in order to allow the engagement of the latter around the lining 11, without running the risk of damaging the latter.
The device according to the second embodiment (FIG. 3) differs from that which has just been described, mainly by the fact that it makes it possible to mount a sealed ring around a standardized tube. The special profile of the tube 1 of the first embodiment is produced here by an independent metal sleeve 17 comprising a base 18 in the form of a flat ring and a cylindrical wall 19 bare with the base 18 in such a way that this last protrudes both inward and outward from wall 19.
The part 17 is retained in the cavity 4 of the crown 3a by a washer 20 crimped in this crown at the opening of the cavity 4. A sealing gasket 21, extending over almost the entire height of the crown. wall 19 is arranged inside the latter so as to form a tight seal with the tube 1a, when the crown 3a is in place. A gasket 11, a ring 14a and a spring 12, similar to those of the first embodiment, are arranged around the sleeve 17 and held in place on the latter by a lock 22 in the form of a closed ring, riveted. to said socket. The trim 21 is also held in place by a lock 23 riveted to the socket 17.
It is noted in this form of execution that the sleeve 17 with all the elements which are integral with it, remains fixed with the tube 1a when the crown 3a is actuated in rotation, this because the lining 21 has dimensions such relative to to the lining 11, that its surface in contact with the tube 1a is much greater than that of the lining 11 which is in contact with the crown 3a.
When the lining 1.1 or the crown 3a is worn, it will be necessary to replace the entire crown, that is to say the crown 3a with the sleeve 17. As the seal 21 does not rotate around the tube 1a, the latter does not risk to any wear and can remain in place permanently.
