Method for washing and rinsing laundry in a double-drum washing machine and washing machine for carrying out the method. The invention relates to a method for washing and rinsing laundry in a double-drum washing machine with and with a horizontal axis. Fresh water supply during the washing and rinsing phases. The inven tion consists in keeping the liquor level in the suds and laundry container at least approximately the same as the level during washing and the working liquid is drained through an overflow which directly determines the liquor level.
Also relates. the invention relates to a double-drum washing machine for implementing the method. This is characterized in that the lowest point of the overflow is located less than a third of the height of the tub.
In order to wash laundry economically and effectively, a low level of liquor is usually maintained in the laundry container. Among other things, it is sufficient that the free fall height of the laundry in the rotating drum is high and the mechanical washing effect achieved is good, which means that few operating resources such as water, heat and detergent are consumed. The drainage cross-sections in the form of holes in the tub are measured so that the constant flow rate of the washing liquor maintains a desired level in the tub. The washing is then followed by rinsing of the laundry, which, however, must be carried out with considerably larger amounts of water.
As a result, the fleet level is increased quite significantly in the previous versions of the drum washing machines. It has now been found through tests that the rinsing effect is improved if the level of the liquor is kept roughly the same low during the rinsing process as during washing. The improvement is explained by the increase in the free fall height during the rinsing process, which causes a reduction in the total amount of rinsing water required and thus a reduction in rinsing time, which means that the laundry is less stressed.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of a washing machine suitable for carrying out the method according to the invention, namely in FIG. 1 in longitudinal section along the line B-B of FIG. 2 and in FIG. 2 in cross section. along line 11-A of FIG. 1.
The inner drum 1 of this double-drum washing machine has a perforated 1VIantel 2 and is rotatably mounted in the outer drum 3. On this outer drum is. the overflow 4 is arranged, which here is given the shape of an overflow wall and which directly determines the liquor level. The cold water valve 5 and the flushing water valve 6 are located in the fresh water pipeline that opens into the Aussentrom mel. A heater 7 provides the heat supply.
The motor S is used to rotate the drum around the horizontal axis and the drainage channel 10 causes the working fluid to be drawn off.
At the beginning of the washing process, the inner drum is covered by a hinged lid, which is not shown here. is loaded with laundry, the Kaltwasserv valve 5 opens, the detergent is added and the heating is switched on after reaching the overflow edge, and the drum drive motor is set in motion. After reaching the desired washing temperature, d. H. After the washing process has ended, the heater 7 is switched off, the cold water valve 5 is closed and the rinsing water valve 6 is opened at the same time.
The relatively large open overflow 4 has the effect that the level of the working fluid is maintained despite the larger amount of water that arises. when rinsing is only slightly different from that during washing, so that the amount of fresh water supplied per unit of time is the same as the working fluid discharged in the same unit of time. The rinsing process ends after about 10 minutes and the machine is shut down. These switching processes can all be controlled by a machine. will. In the example shown, the working fluid flows in on one side, flows through the load axially and flows out on the opposite side. This ensures that the load is completely traversed by the working fluid.
The overflow 4 is attached directly in the end wall of the Laugenbe container 3, specifically the overflow edge at a height which is one sixth of the height of the tub.
