Apparatus for projecting gravel under the metal sleepers of railway tracks by means of compressed air The present invention relates to an apparatus for projecting gravel under the metal sleepers with falling wings of the railway tracks, by means of compressed air, this Apparatus being intended to allow the injection in a single operation of the gravel on either side of the central region of the mold remaining in the ballast when the previously collapsed cross member is raised to bring it back to the correct level.
This apparatus is characterized by two gravel reservoirs communicating at their base by deformable sleeves with respective projection nozzles having bypass necks of a wing of the crosspiece to be treated, the reservoirs being carried by bars movable vertically in up and down in the uprights of the frame, and by the fact that the rectilinear upper parts of the nozzles are pivoted - eccentrically on slides intended to slide in opposite directions on a horizontal transverse shaft movable vertically in concert with said bars, by the causes said transverse tree,
arranged so as to turn on itself in both directions, carries for this purpose at least one arm, the end of which is guided in a fixed slide whose longitudinal profile is determined as a function of the tilting in two opposite directions, to be printed to the nozzles during the vertical movements of these and of the reservoirs, all with the aim of obtaining in combination, a lowering of the reservoirs and nozzles having their ejection nozzles at the minimum spacing, in the hollow access to the corresponding mold of the cross member to be treated in the ballast, to below a wing thereof,
a tilting of the nozzles producing the bypassing of said wing then the penetration of the two nozzles between the wings of the transom, then a pivoting having the effect of removing the ejection nozzles directed in opposite directions, and finally an application of the edges upper of these nozzles against the upper internal wall of the cross member, the position in which the blowing of the gravel from the reservoirs into the end parts of the mold takes place.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus which is the subject of the invention and a variant of detail. Fig. 1 is an elevation in a plane parallel to a metal cross member. Figs. 2, 3 and 4 are elevational views in a plane perpendicular to a cross member and located between the two tanks, FIG. 3 corresponding to the section line III-III of FIG. 1, these three figures showing various positions of certain organs.
Figs. 5 and 6 show in elevation and seen in the direction of arrow A in FIG. 1 a manual chain control device and a variant of this device, with control by compressed air.
Fig. 7 is a horizontal section along the line VII-VII of FIG. 1.
The whole of the apparatus represented rests on a carriage 1 rolling on the rails 2 which its metal sleepers support such as 3. These sleepers having collapsed in the ballast B, they were raised to their correct level, like this. is shown in fig. 1 to 4, before blowing gravel into the mold m which remains between the ballast and the internal wall of each cross member in the raised position. A stripping hollow C must be made in the ballast to access the middle part of the mold m in order to be able to put the spraying nozzles into service.
The frame of the carriage 1 carries two vertical uprights 4 with an open prismatic section in which can go up and down, in unison, two bars 5 with U section in their lower part, and in L in the upper part above the uprights 4. These vertical bars 5 are provided with consoles 6 to which are articulated support parts 7, having several attachment holes for a spring 8 suspended from the top of each bar 5. A retaining collar 9 is articulated on each band support 7. The apparatus comprises two gravel reservoirs 10, the upper part of which is hand held by one of the collars 9.
The funnel-shaped lower part of each reservoir is connected by a deformable sleeve 12 to the upper rectilinear section 13 of a projection nozzle comprising two more left elbows between them, 14 and 15, to end in an ejection nozzle 16. The vertical bars 5 carry, at their lower end, a bearing 17 receiving a journal 18 integral with a transverse shaft 19 of prismatic section serving as a guide for two slides 20 movable symmetrically with respect to a central stop 21.
Each slide carries a pivot 22 around which the assembly of a tube 23 and a flange 24 welded to the rectilinear section 13 of a nozzle pivots. This assembly can be immediately dismantled above the pivot 22.
Each slide 20 has a plate 25 with drive lugs 26 in contact with the flange 24 to rotate the corresponding nozzle around the pivot 22. The plates 25 each carry, by means of an angled arm 27, a cylinder. pivot 28, the piston rod 29 of which is articulated, at its outgoing end, to a tenon 30 of the corresponding slide.
The left slide, 20 in fig. 7, is imperatively connected to a transverse cylinder 31, that is to say parallel to the transverse shaft 19, while the right slide is connected by articulation to the rod 32 of a piston movable in the cylinder 31.
Tubings 33, 34 for the pivot cylinders 28, respectively 35 and 35 'for the transverse cylinder 31, are intended for the admission and the exhaust of compressed air in the respective cylinders.
The transverse shaft 19 is provided, at each end, with an arm 36 carrying a lateral roller 37 guided in a slide comprising an arcuate part 38 and a rectilinear section returning 39. The slides 38-39 are fixed to the uprights 4. One of the arms 36 is connected, by an articulation 40, adjacent to the corresponding roller 37, to the end of a piston rod 41 movable in a cylinder 42 mounted on a pivot 43 carried by a bracket 44 fixed to the one of the uprights 4.
The two uprights 4 carry, on respective con soles provided with two bearings, two chain wheels 45 and 46 (fig. 3 and 5) wedged on a common shaft 47. The wheel 45, carried by the upright 4 on the left, d 'after fig. 1, and which is shown in FIG. 5, is integral with a fine ratchet 48 in which engages a pawl mounted on a control lever 49. The other chain wheel 46 is integral with a retaining ratchet 50 with which a stop pawl 51 cooperates. Two chains 52 are attached respectively by one end to the wheels 45 and 46, pass over pinions 53 and engage in the tubular uprights 4, their other end being hooked to the bearing 17 secured to a vertical bar 5.
At the start of the operation, the reservoirs 10 and the nozzles 13-15 are located substantially above a drop wing 3 'of the cross member 3, the rollers 37 occupying a high position in the slides 38 (fig. 2). ). The operator releases the stop pawl 51:
by the action of gravity, the bars 5 descend along the uprights 4 while the rollers 37, following the curved part 38 of the slides, determine a rotation of the transverse shaft on itself and a tilting of the carried members by this shaft, first in the direction of arrow Fl, then in the opposite direction (arrow Fz) around the journals 18 during the descent of the latter. This first phase, called manual descent, ends when the rollers 37 have engaged in the re-entering rectilinear sections 39 of the slides, as can be seen in FIG. 3.
The following tilting FI allows the nozzles 13-15 to penetrate into the stripping hollow C by laterally bypassing a wing 3 'of the cross member 3. During the following tilting F, the ejection nozzles 16 not felt under the lower edge of the wing 3 '. The direction and the amplitude of the tilting of the arms 36 are determined by the longitudinal profile of the slides 38-39 in cooperation with the vertical displacements of the bars 5. During this first phase, the ejection nozzles 16 are at their minimum spacing. and the elbows 15 of the two nozzles touch each other (see FIG. 1), but the rectilinear sections 13 as well as the slides 20 are separated.
To initiate the second phase, a compressed air distributor 60 is operated in such a way that the air is admitted through the pipes 34 into the pivoting cylinders 28 and through the pipe 35, in the front part of the transverse cylinder 31. The result is that the sliders 20 come closer to the central stop 21 and that the rectilinear sections 13 of the nozzles perform a pivoting with gira tion around the pivots 22 in the direction of the arrows F @ and F4. By this movement, the ejection nozzles 16 of the nozzles, first oblique under the cross member 3 (FIG. 3), move apart and are placed parallel to this cross member.
During this time, the arms 36 remain in the angular position visible in FIG. 3. In the third phase, the distributor 60 is actuated in such a way that the compressed air is admitted through a pipe 61 in the front of the cylinder 42. The rod 41 with the corresponding piston are then expelled in the direction of arrow F5. , so that the rollers 37 run through the rest of the re-entering section 39 of the wings.
The arms 36 therefore tilt in the direction of the arrow Fs (FIG. 4) and the ejection nozzles 16 of the nozzles thus come to be applied by their face and their upper edge, against the median internal wall 3i of the cross member. At the same time, each backing plate 62 is pressed against the outside of the wing 3 'of the cross member, which determines the correct position of each nozzle at the end. of this third phase. These ejection nozzles 16 are then directed towards the opposite ends of the mold m.
The operator then actuates a distribution lever to supply compressed air to the nozzles 13-16 via the conduits 63 so that the gravel is projected and strongly compacted by the action of the compressed air in it. the lateral parts of the mold m, in particular under the rails and up to its ends. We read on the graduated scales 64, each of which is next to a vertical window 65 of the tank 10, the resulting volume of gravel which must be projected into each half of the mold m under the cross member 3, then the supply of compressed air is stopped. . It is then a question of taking the nozzles 13-16 out of the cross member 3 and of the hollow C to bring them back to the visible position. in fig. 2.
The cylinder 42 is exhausted, then the control lever 49 is actuated along arrow F7 so that the arms 36 pass from the position of FIG. 4 to that of FIG. 3, which implies tilting of the nozzles in the direction of arrow FS (fig. 4). The compressed air is then admitted by the pipes 33 in the pivoting cylinders 28 and by the pipe 35 in the transverse cylinder 31, the other pipes 34 and 35 'having previously been exhausted.
Consequently, the two nozzles rotate with gyration around the pivots 22 respectively in opposite directions of the arrows F3, F4 and the slides 20 move away from the central stop 21, so that the elbows 15 of the two nozzles come back to touch (fig. . 1), the ejection nozzles 16 thus being at their minimum spacing. Consequently, the lever 49 is actuated again in the direction of arrow F7 in order to raise the vertical bars 5 and the transverse shaft 19.
By the play of the smooth neck 39-38 on the arms 36 and the rotation of the transverse shaft 19 on itself during this ascent, the nozzles successively tilt in opposite directions of the arrows F2 and FI < / I> around the axis of the shaft 19. These nozzles exit from the inside of the cross member 3 by contouring the lower edge of the wing 3 'of the cross member and rise while leaving the hollow stripping C to finally return to the upper position, visible in fig. 2.
The manual control of the vertical movements of the bars 5 and of the transverse shaft 19 can, as a variant, be replaced by a pneumatic control, shown diagrammatically in FIG. 6. The driving end of at least one of the chains 52, wound on a toothed wheel 66, is attached to the rod 67 of a piston movable in a cylinder 68 fixed to an upright 4. This cylinder has, at the 'front, an intake and exhaust manifold 69 and, in its bottom, a fine exhaust duct 70.
If compressed air is admitted into the cylinder 68, the transverse shaft 19, attached to the receiving end of the chains 52, will rise with the bars 5, due to the rotation of the wheel 66 in the direction of arrow F3.
The descent of the bars 5 would be produced by the predominant action of the weight of the mobile equipment, but its speed could be adjusted by modifying the exhaust port of the air distributor connected to the pipe 69.
The apparatus which has just been described makes it possible to inject, in a single operation, gravel under the sleepers in opposite directions, on either side of the central region of the mold remaining in the ballast when each sleeper has been raised to its correct level.
