Breathing and respiratory protection device A breathing and respiratory protection device is already known which has two pressure chambers which are generally in communication with a Di-ttekniinderventil, which are separated from one another by a membrane and connected to one another by a narrow throttle opening, which provide pressure compensation between between both chambers delayed.
The chamber, which is in open communication with the pressure reducing valve, contains an oxygen supply valve, the wear piece of which is positively coupled with the movements of the membrane, while the chamber on the other side of the membrane closes with the small valve opening of a lung-controlled auxiliary valve. Each opening of the auxiliary valve, which is controlled by the lungs in the breathing bag.
Cntsteliende negative pressures is caused, results in a pressure drop across the membrane, which can only be compensated with a time delay by the narrow throttle opening connecting the two chambers. Since the pressure below the membrane remains unchanged due to the open connection of the room with a pressure reducer, a strong pressure gap develops on both sides of the membrane in the period @ -oti 1 / 1000-1 / 100 seconds after the auxiliary valve is opened .
The mem brane bulges out accordingly and opens the oxygen supply valve with this deformation movement. With this design, attempts have been made for the first time in breathing apparatus with exclusively lung-controlled oxygen supply to reduce the pressure energy of the high-density oxygen contained in the storage container to reduce the breathing resistance required for suction and to limit the space and weight of the oxygen fitting to exploit.
However, this goal is only achieved to a limited extent, since the supply of the flowing out of the oxygen supply valve, the large amounts of oxygen into the control room of the auxiliary valve by its immediate beam effect closes. of the auxiliary valve influences or even prevents the timely closing and, as a result, the interruption of the main flow.
The present invention aims to eliminate these disadvantages and at the same time a reduction in the structural dimensions to it rich. The invention relates to a breathing and breathing protection device. Oxygen supply valve actuated by an auxiliary valve to be controlled by breathing and two chambers separated from one another by a diaphragm controlling the latter valve and connected to one another through a throttle opening to bring about a delayed pressure equalization.
It is characterized in that it has a housing consisting of two parts and containing the entire valves, both housing parts being connected to one another with the interposition of the membrane that separates the two chambers and controlling the oxygen supply valve, and that the inside of one housing part be sensitive chamber via an auxiliary valve and a pipe to the inhalation line,
The chamber located inside the other housing part, on the other hand, is connected on the one hand to the oxygen inlet line and on the other hand via the oxygen supply valve with a pipe to another point of the breathing lines, so that separate lines from the two housing parts for the transmission of the negative pressure of inhalation to the auxiliary valve and for the outflow from the oxygen supply valve to the breathing lines of the device.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject of the invention in the vertical with a longitudinal section.
The device has a housing which contains all of the valves and consists of the two parts 1 and 2. These are each provided with a flange 3 or 4 on the side facing the other. The flanges 3 and 4 are square and connected to each other by screws 6 with the interposition of a membrane 5 made of soft rubber.
For mutual guidance, the flange 3 is provided with an all-round edge strip which fits around the membrane 5 and the correspondingly dimensioned end attachment of the flange 4.
The housing parts 1 and 2 are open on one side facing the other, so that the interior of each housing part is separated from the other housing part by the mem brane 5 and therefore each forms a special chamber.
The interior of the housing part 1 is connected on the one hand to a pipe socket 7, which is connected in a manner not shown with interconnection of a pressure reducing valve with an oxygen inlet line. On the other hand, the interior of the housing part 1 is connected via an oxygen supply valve to a pipe 16 leading to a face mask of the device.
This valve has a corresponding nut thread of the housing part 1 with the interposition of a sealing ring 11 screwed against the housing bottom, the valve seat bil Dende guide cap 8, which is provided with a central passage channel 9 opening into the line 16 and inflow channels 10 inclined to the axis is. The valve also has a wear piece 12 which is axially displaceably guided in the cap 8 and cooperates with the valve seat, at one end of which a spring plate 14 is fastened by means of a central screw 13.
The spring plate 14 has an annular flange at the free end which rests against the membrane 5 in a force-locking manner under the influence of a compression spring 15, which is supported on the other hand on a shoulder of the cap 8.
The membrane 5 is provided with a central bore, which is penetrated by the shaft of a hollow screw 17, onto which a pin 18 having a corresponding nut threaded bore is screwed. The pin 18 is firmly clamped to the membrane 5 with a sealing ring in between and has a central opening formed as a calibrated throttle point 19 following the threaded hole, which opens into the chamber in the interior of the housing part 2, which is delimited by the membrane 5 on the one hand .
This chamber is closed on the other hand by an insert 21, which is provided with a thread and screwed into a matching central threaded bore of the housing part 2 with a sealing ring in between against the housing base. Inside the chamber is a compression spring 20, which is supported on the one hand against the membrane 5 and on the other hand against a shoulder of the insert 21 ..
The compression springs? 0 and 1.5 are pre-tensioned and coordinated with one another in such a way that they hold the membrane 5 in the planar shape shown in the drawing when the oxygen pressure in both chambers is the same, the differential pressure being the Fe-Bern acts in a sealing manner on the passage 9 via the spring plate 14 and the closure piece 12.
The chamber floor 32 of the housing part 2 has a central bore into which the rear end of the insert 21 is inserted. The insert 21 has a central opening opening into a calibrated channel 22 through which the chamber communicates via an auxiliary valve 24 with an antechamber 23 arranged in an extension of the housing part 2, to which a pipe 45 leading to the face mask of the device is connected connected. The end of the insert 21 having the channel 22 also forms the seat of the auxiliary valve 24, which also has a.
This seat has cooperating closure piece 31. The closure piece 31 is mounted axially displaceably in the central through-hole of the chamber bottom 32, which is also provided with inflow channels 33 which are inclined to the axis and lead from the antechamber 23 to the seat of the auxiliary valve 24.
The closure piece 31 is designed as a cap provided with a rear annular flange 37, into which a compression spring 34 protrudes, which is supported on the one hand against the cap base and on the other hand against a hat 36 fastened to the housing part 2 by means of screws 35. The hat 36 is laterally provided with longitudinal strands through which one of three radially arranged, two-armed levers 38 is passed.
These levers 38 are mounted in radial recesses evenly distributed over the circumference of the housing in a ring 39 concentric to the housing axis by means of an axis 40 each in such a way that they can be pivoted in the radial-axial plane with respect to the housing axis. The pivot axes 40 are designed as a common wire ring, which is clamped in a concentric recess in the ring 39. The ring 39 is attached to the housing part 2.
The levers 38 each have a shorter lever arm that engages under the annular flange 37 and a longer lever arm that is articulated on a lifting rod 41. The push rods 41 are arranged on the one hand parallel to the housing axis and on the other hand are articulated on a one-armed lever 42 each. These levers 42 are located with respect to the housing axis in radial-axial planes and are mounted at one end in radial recesses evenly distributed over the housing circumference of a ring 43 concentric to the housing axis by means of an axis 44 such that they pivot in their radial-axial plane are.
The pivot axes 44 are again designed as a common wire ring, which is clamped in a concentric recess in the ring 43. The ring 43 is attached to the housing part 2 Ge. With the free end of the lever 42 are frictionally on the inner side of an auxiliary membrane 25, which is arranged zen cally to the housing axis and is reinforced in the middle part on both sides by a stiffening plate 26.
The auxiliary membrane 25 is frustoconical ge staltet and provided with a cylinder-shell-shaped edge which xst pressed airtight onto the free edge 2 7 of the housing part 2. Under the edge of the auxiliary membrane 25, the housing part 2 has a collar which is provided with screw thread and onto which a threaded capsule 28 enclosing the auxiliary membrane to the outside is screwed. This has a central passage 30 which is closed by a sieve 2.9.
The sieve 29 allows the outside air to freely enter the outside of the auxiliary membrane 25 so that the latter is always under atmospheric pressure, whereas the inside of the auxiliary membrane 25 delimits the antechamber 23 to the outside.
The levers 38 and 42 together with the push rods 41 form three lever linkages which are arranged radially-axially to the housing axis and which have a transmission ratio of at least 15: 1, in such a way that the auxiliary membrane 25 bulges, measured at the Contact points of the lever 42, a stroke of the locking piece 31 of at least the fifteenth part of this bulge acts.
The radial-axial arrangement of the lever rods 38, 41, 42 of a simple, lightweight design and a relatively large transmission ratio for controlling the auxiliary valve 24 allows all structural parts to be compressed into a relatively small space and thus an effect that does not exceed 20 cm2 same area of auxiliary membrane 25. By the explained housing division and the connection of the two housing parts 1, 2 by means of the flanges 3, 4 with the interposition of the membrane 5, a simple, clear assembly of the device can be achieved.
The operation of the drawn oxygen supply valve is as follows: Through the connection piece 7, the interior of the housing part 1 is in open connec tion with a pressure reducing valve, which reduces the high pressure of the oxygen in the storage container, not shown, to a low use pressure and this pressure during the whole Maintains the service life evenly. This pressure also exists in the interior of the housing part 1. In the interior of the housing part 2, the oxygen can only get through the narrow Dros seldüse 19. A pressure equalization between the two rooms can therefore only take place with a certain time delay.
Before this pressure equalization occurs, there is an initially considerable and then gradually decreasing pressure difference between the two sides of the membrane. As a result, the membrane 5 undergoes a bulge against the pressure of the closing spring 20.
As a result of the non-positive contact of the closure piece 12 by means of the spring plate 14 on the membrane 5, the closure piece 12 follows the arching of the membrane 5 under the influence of the spring 15, whereby it lifts off the valve seat piece 8 and the opening of the outflow channel 9 for releases the oxygen. The oxygen therefore flows from the connector 7 through the channels 10 and the channel 9 into the connecting pipe 16 and from there into the face mask.
This process always occurs for the time being when the shut-off valve of the oxygen storage tank has been opened at the beginning of the use of the breathing apparatus and the oxygen has got into the interior of the C housing part 1 and lasts until there is enough oxygen from the housing part 1 through the throttle opening 19 has passed through in the Ge housing part 2 than is necessary for the Druckaus equal between the two housing parts. As soon as this Drtiekausgleieh is reached, takes. the membrane 5 returns to its original Liche position shown in the drawing. in which the valve 8, 12 is closed again.
An influx of sanitary material into the breathing apparatus is therefore only released for a predetermined, relatively short period of time, the length of which depends on the size of the free space above the membrane 5 and on the cross section of the nozzle opening 19.
This process also occurs each time during use when the negative pressure resulting from inhalation through the connection line 45 in the extension 23 of the C housing part 2 causes a pressure drop that is sufficient to create a dovetail of the auxiliary valve in membrane 25 cause ztt by pressure from the outside air.
This curvature is transmitted via the levers 42, 41, 38 to the closure piece 31, which is thereby lifted from the valve opening 22 of the auxiliary valve 24. As a result, an immediate drop in pressure is effected in the interior of the housing part 2, practically occurring in a fraction of a second. Since the post-flow from the space below half of the membrane 5 into the housing part 2 is delayed by the throttle nozzle 19, there is a corresponding pressure difference on both sides of the membrane -5, where the oxygen supply valve 8, 12 is opened and remains open as long as as the oxygen demand of breathing continues.
If this stops, then at the same time the dura- tion of the membrane 25 disappears. As a result, the aid 24 is closed first. Now you can see the pressure on both sides of the diaphragm 5 equalize what about. 1/100 of a second results in the oxygen supply valve 8, 12 being closed.
In the known embodiment mentioned at the outset, such an exact sequence of processes is disturbed by the fact that the flow from the oxygen supply valve is introduced into the control chamber of the auxiliary valve.
In the embodiment explained above, on the other hand, the separate line connections 16 and 45 ensure that the pressure is transmitted to the auxiliary valve 4 and an outflow from the oxygen supply valve 8, 12, so that all the advantages of the known working method mentioned are guaranteed without having to accept their disadvantages.
