Fig. 2 zeigt das zugehörige Schaltschema.

Device for measuring and dispensing liquids
The invention relates to a device for measuring and dispensing liquids.
The device according to the invention for measuring and dispensing liquids is characterized by at least one measuring vessel which is connected on the one hand by a pipe provided as a riser pipe to a container for a liquid, which pipe projects into the measuring vessel, and on the other hand through Another pipeline provided with valves can alternately be connected to a vacuum and to the atmospheric air in order to cause liquid to be drawn in from the container into the measuring vessel and excess liquid to flow back out of the measuring vessel.
The invention is explained, for example, in the following description with reference to the preferred embodiments shown.
In the drawings, FIG. 1 is a schematic representation of a metering and dispensing device designed according to the invention, which is provided with electrical equipment for controlling the various valves.
FIG. 1 a shows a measuring and dispensing device corresponding to FIG. 1 with a modification on a larger scale.
Fig. 2 shows the associated circuit diagram.
3 shows, in a schematic representation, a modified device with several measuring containers, each of which is connected to a storage container for the liquid or liquids.
4 to 8 show schematically a valve arrangement in the various operating positions.
Figure 9 is an enlarged view of a mechanical actuator for the control valves.
10 and 11 show sections of the in Fig.! a device shown along lines X-X and XI-XI of FIG. 9.
FIGS. 12 and 13 show views of two different embodiments of measuring vessels on a larger scale, while FIGS. 14 and 15 show sections of further modified embodiments of the measuring vessels with suction pipe and outlet device in two different operating positions.
As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 1 a, the measuring and dispensing device contains a measuring vessel 1 which is provided with an outlet pipe 2 extending obliquely downward from it and with a centrally mounted suction pipe 3. The suction tube 3 extends from a certain height in the vessel 1 down through its bottom and, penetrating the lid 5 of a container 4 serving as a storage container for the liquid, is inserted into this container until it touches its bottom, the lower end of the pipe 3 acting as a riser pipe is expediently provided with a corrugated or notched edge in order to avoid disturbances in the inflow of liquid from the container 4 to the riser or
To avoid suction tube 3 by any loose parts or foreign bodies that can settle on the bottom of the container 4. At the free end of the outlet pipe 2 there is an outlet or dispensing tap 7, the design of which will be described in detail later.
The measuring vessel 1 is provided at the top with a lid 8, which has a downward-facing approach, for. B. a sehalenför- shaped middle part 9 has. This part can also consist of an electrode attached to the inside of the cover 8. The lid 8 is on the upper edge of the vessel 1 with the interposition of electrically insulating and gas- and liquid-tight material, eg. B. a rubber ring 10 or the like, put on, and the tight closure of the vessel 1 through the lid 8 is secured by clip-like members, eg. B.
Clamps 11, secured, which engage in eyelets 12 and 13 attached to the vessel 1 and 8 on the cover (Fig. 1a). On the cover 8, a pipe piece 14 4 is connected to the measuring vessel SS, which is connected to two pipes 16a and 16b by means of a pipe 15. The pipe 16a is provided with an electromagnetically actuated shut-off valve 17 and opens into an air filter 18. In the other pipe 16b, a throttle valve 20 and an electromagnetically actuated shut-off valve 21 are arranged one behind the other.
Furthermore, the pipe 16b is connected via a pipe 19 to a vessel 22 containing a vacuum. The throttle valve 20 is used to regulate the suction effect between the boiler 22 and the vessel 1.
The boiler 22 is connected to a ventilation pump 23 to generate the vacuum. A valve 24 is switched into the pipeline 19, and the pipeline 19 is also connected to a pipeline 25, which leads to a pneumatic actuation device 26 for the outlet cock 7.
An electromagnetically operated valve 27 is switched into the pipeline 25.
All pipelines and containers are air- and liquid-tight and connected. This is an important prerequisite for the correct mode of operation of the designated device.
With the described device, the operations required for measuring and dispensing are automatically carried out in a predetermined sequence as soon as the device is switched on by inserting a coin or other coin into a machine 28, which can be designed in any known and suitable manner, but not part of the subject matter of the invention.
When such a coin is inserted into the machine 28, a current connection is established for a moment through a contact 98a (FIG. 2) and an auxiliary relay 29 is energized with the contact 32a closed, which is also energized through the contact 29a assigned to it is held when the contact 28a is interrupted again.
The relay 29 operates the electromagnetically controlled valves 21 and 27 through its other contact 29b, so that the outlet or delivery valve 7 is closed and the measuring vessel 1 is connected to the vacuum.
Sobal. If the third contact 29c of the relay 29 is disconnected, the valve 17 is closed so that the connection between the measuring vessel 1 and the surrounding atmosphere is shut off.
Due to the effect of the vacuum on the vessel 1, liquid is sucked into this through the suction line or the riser pipe 3 from the container 4. As soon as the liquid in the vessel 1 has risen so far that it touches the part 9 attached to the bottom of the lid 8, current flows, provided that it is an electrically conductive liquid, the liquid contained in the vessel 1 to an auxiliary relay 31, which is consequently placed under tension and also kept under tension by its contact 31a when the level of the liquid in the vessel 1 has dropped again and the liquid no longer touches the part 9 of the lid 8,
The second lion clock 31b of the relay 31 simultaneously interrupts the current to the electromagnetically controlled valve 21, whereby the connection between the measuring vessel 1 and the vacuum 22 is interrupted. At the same time, the fourth contact 31d de, s relay 31 is closed, so that the electromagnetic valve 17 opens and atmospheric pressure can get into the measuring vessel 1, which was previously connected to the vacuum.
This causes an amount of liquid, which corresponds to the contents of the measuring vessel 1 between the upper end of the riser pipe 3 and the level to which the liquid had risen during the connection of the vessel 1 to the vacuum 22, through the pipe 3 flows back into the storage container 4.
The third contact 31c belonging to the relay 31, which was actuated at the same time as the other contacts, influenced a timing relay 32 which, after a predetermined period of time, which is also adjustable, the current flow to the two relays 29 and 31 interrupted by its contacts 32a and 32b. The time relay 32 is set in such a way that it works with a period of time which is long enough to allow the entire amount of liquid that is in the vessel 1 above the upper end of the riser pipe 3 to enter the container 4 to drain,
and the level of the liquid in the vessel 1 is at the same level as the upper edge of the spreading tube 3. When the current to the relays 29 and 31 is interrupted, the outlet or. Discharge valve 7 opened, and all parts of the Einriehtung are back in their normal or w. Returned to the starting position so that the measuring and dispensing device is now ready for a further work cycle.
A transformer 30 is provided for the various electrical A facilities, which increases the voltage present in the network to z. B. lowers 24 volts. All electrical cables are connected to a common ruler 40 in order to facilitate tests and controls.
The device described so far, it enables the automatic measuring and dispensing of the measured individual amounts of a liquid in a simple manner and is particularly useful for measuring and dispensing z. B. milk suitable. The liquid is measured and dispensed on the container 4 by the alternating action of the surrounding atmosphere, ie the outside air, and a vacuum, without the use of any special devices. All parts of the device which come into contact with the liquid can be designed to be easily removable so that they can be easily cleaned, which is of particular practical importance for the treatment of milk.
The device described can easily be modified for measuring and dispensing electrically non-conductive liquids. There are various ways of doing this. For example, a float can be arranged in the measuring vessel 1, which closes the electrical circuit as soon as the liquid in the vessel 1 has reached the predetermined level, or the entire measuring vessel can be used, in particular for measuring and dispensing colored or opaque liquids a part of it made of transparent material and a photoelectric cell to fix the liquid level can be arranged.
A particularly useful embodiment of a device for electrically non-conductive liquids is shown in FIG. 3 and is described below.
The embodiment shown schematically in FIG. 3 can be operated essentially in the same way as was described in connection with FIGS. 1 and 2, and with the above Ausfüh approximately form, as far as the control of the current flow is considered, completely agree.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, however, the measuring vessel is modified into an auxiliary vessel # 1 (servo vessel), which is not used for measuring and dispensing liquid itself, but as a control vessel for another measuring vessel 10a or several other measuring vessels. e 10a, 10b, 10c, three of which are shown in FIG.
From the bottom of the servo vessel 1 a pipe 3 extends down into a container 4 which contains a certain menu of electrically conductive liquid. This serves as a control fluid for the fluid in the other containers 4a, 4b, 4c, which is to be measured and dispensed in individual quantities. An electrode 9 is attached to the inside of the lid of the vessel 1 and an air line 15 is connected to the outside, penetrating the lid.
The entire device is accordingly designed in such a way that the control vessel 1 corresponds to the measuring vessel 1 according to FIG. 1, provided that the device is provided with an electromagnetic control system, as described in connection with FIGS. 1 and 2 is, when liquid is sucked from the container 4 into the servo vessel or control vessel # 1, as soon as the sucked in liquid reaches the electrode 9, a control circuit is closed and the associated valves are controlled as described. The liquid sucked into the servo vessel 1 is made to flow back into the container 4 each time.
The measuring vessels 10a, 10b and 10c are now connected by a line 15 'to the same vacuum as the servo vessel # 1 and, like this, can be brought into contact with the atmospheric air through the line 15'. For this purpose, the measuring vessels 10a, 10b and 10c are connected to the air line 15 'by lines 15a, 15b and 15c into which the manually adjustable metering valves 52a, 52b and 52c are switched.
Furthermore, from each measuring vessel 10a, 10b and 10c, a suction tube 3a, 3b and 3c acting as a riser leads into each container 4a, 47v and 4c, each of which contains a certain supply of liquid. The suction or.
Riser pipes 3a, 3b and 3c are each led up to a certain height in the corresponding measuring vessel, and this height is chosen so that the amount of liquid below this level corresponds to the amount of liquid that is to be dispensed. The suction pipes 3a, 3b and 3c serve at the same time to allow the excess amount of liquid to flow back into the respective container 4a, 4b and 4c.
The measuring vessels 10a, 10b and 10c can have different sizes. If necessary, in addition to this or on its own, the upper ends of the singing or riser pipes 3a, 3b and 3c can each be at different heights. Liquids of different types can also be contained in the containers 4a, 46 and 4c.
On each measuring container 10a, 10b, 10c there is also an outlet 2a, 2b and 2c, each with a shut-off or. Dispensing valve 7a, 7b and 7c attached. The device is designed in such a way that liquid from the containers 4a, 4b and 4c is sucked into the measuring containers 10a, 10b and 10c at the same time as liquid is sucked in from the container 4 into the servo vessel 1, and thus the same overall result the individual work steps begin as described above.
If the individual quantities to be measured by the vessels 10a, 10b and 10c are very different in terms of content, the metering valves 52a, 52b and 52c can be set in such a way that the corresponding vessels 10a, 10b and 10c are essentially up to the desired level be filled at the same time. This can mainly come into question when a device of the type described for measuring and distributing the individual proportions of a mixture of liquids, e.g. B. in former companies should be used.
It can readily be seen that the device shown in FIG. 3 operates independently of whether the liquids to be measured and dispensed are electrically conductive or not. The only requirement is that the control fluid used in servo vessel 1 or in container 4 is electrically conductive.
If with such a device highly flammable liquids, such as. B. gasoline, measured and delivered, can there. Servo vessel including the associated electrical equipment on one side of a fire-proof protective wall and the measuring vessels on the other side of the wall. In such a case, the exhaust valves 7a, 7b and 7c can be operated by auxiliary devices which are controlled by electromagnets arranged on the side of the servo vessel.
Other means than relays and electromagnetically operated valves can also be used to control the individual work processes. This applies in particular to those cases in which the sequence of the individual work processes and the periods of time for which the various connections must be kept open or closed can be precisely determined in advance. In such cases, a mechanically controlled valve system can be used instead of the electrical equipment.
In FIGS. 4 to 8, the various operating positions of the valves of this mechanical system are shown schematically. In this context, it is pointed out that this schematic illustration also applies to the already described embodiments of the valves and can therefore also serve to explain the device according to the invention in general.
In FIGS. 4 to 8, A, B, C and D designate four valves which can be operated in such a way that they either allow a free flow or shut it off completely. It may be assumed that the two valves C and D serve to control the connection between the vacuum or the atmospheric air on the one hand and a measuring vessel or a servo vessel on the other hand, as shown in FIG. 1 or 3, while the two valves A and B to control a pneumatic device for actuating the outlet valve of the measuring vessel or the outlet valve of the measuring vessel.
Valves A and C are vacuum valves and valves and D are valves for atmospheric pressure. In Fig. 4, the valves A and C are in the blocking position, that is, the connection of the vacuum with the servo vessel or the measuring vessel or the measuring vessels on the one hand and with the pneumatic device actuating the outlet valve or the outlet valves on the other uninterrupted. There is therefore no suction flow acting on the measuring vessel (s) or the servo vessel, and the outlet valve or outlet valves still assume the open position from the previous operation.
When valve A is now opened (FIG. 5) and that previously open valve B is closed, the pneumatic device for actuating the outlet valve or valves is connected to the vacuum and the atmospheric air is shut off from it. The outlet valve or the outlet valves are closed here. Then valve C is opened and valve D is closed (FIG. 6).
The measuring vessel (s) or the servo vessel are thereby used in connection with the vacuum while the atmospheric air is shut off. Thus, liquid is sucked in from the storage container or containers into the measuring vessel or vessels or the servo vessel. Subsequent opening of valve D and closing of valve C (Fig. 7) ensures that the excess amount of liquid from the measuring vessel or vessels through the tubes 3, 3a, 3b and 3c into the storage container (s) 4, 4a, 4b and 4c flow back. Finally, the outlet of the measuring vessel 1 or the measuring vessels 10a, 10b and 10c is opened.
For this purpose, valve B is opened and valve A is closed (FIG. 8), so that all valves again assume the starting position shown in FIG. The work cycle can then be repeated.
The connections described above are maintained for a certain period of time. If the required periods of time are to be precisely defined beforehand, the valve system can be supplemented by a mechanical actuation device, as shown in FIGS. 9 to 11.
A housing block 61 is placed on a base plate 60, and a cam shaft 62 is arranged parallel to the longitudinal direction of this housing block and is rotatably supported in ball bearings 63 by bearing arms 64. The camshaft 62 is provided with cams 67, of which one cam part 67a consists of one piece with the hub 68 encompassing the shaft 62.
The two cam parts of each cam 67 are connected to one another by a bolt 69 which is rigidly attached to one cam part and can be screwed into a curved slot 70 of the other cam part in such a way that the cam parts of a cam can be fixed in different positions relative to one another . In this way, the circumference of the cams 67 can be lengthened or shortened and the duration of the period of time during which one of the valves arranged in the housing block is to be kept open or closed can be changed.
During the rotation of the shaft 62, the respective cam parts act on angular crank arms, one arm 71 of which rests against the circumference of the corresponding cam parts with the mediation of a roller 73, while the other arm 7 @ the rotational movement of the shaft 62 respectively. the cam 67 transmits each to a plunger 74 for actuating the valves arranged in the housing block 61.
The crank arms 71, 72 are mounted on a shaft 75 which is held by bearing arms 76 of the housing block 61 Ge. In the housing block 61 there are four bores 77 running in the vertical direction, in each of which a closure body 78 of a needle valve is mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable.
The arrangement is such that the valves correspond to the valves A, X, C and D shown schematically in FIGS. 4 to 8. The bores 77 are each provided with valve seats 79, and every second bore 77 is under the valve seat 79 a longitudinal bore 81 is connected by means of a transverse bore 80. The bore 81 is exposed to a vacuum. z. B. the vacuum vessel 22 of FIG. 1, in connection. The other bores 77 are connected via transverse bores 82 above the respective valve seat 79 with a longitudinal bore 83 which is in communication with the atmospheric air.
Furthermore, the first and second bores 77 are connected by transverse bores 84 to a longitudinal bore 85a above the valve seat 79, and corresponding connections are provided between the third and fourth bores 77, which are connected to one another via a longitudinal bore 85b.
The bore 85a is connected to a measuring vessel according to FIG. 1 or a servo vessel according to FIG. 3 through a line not shown, while the bore 85b is connected through another pipeline to the device for actuating the not shown Outlet valves of the aless container or vessels according to FIG. 1 or FIG. 3 is connected. The operation of the valve arrangement described is to be understood with reference to FIGS.
Each valve tappet 74 is provided with a sleeve-like upper part on which an eyelet 86 is attached at the top for connection to the corresponding crank arm 72.
In this sleeve-like upper part, another aluminum 87, open at the top, is arranged, which in its. The bottom is provided with a passage for the shaft of the valve closure body 78. The valve stem is surrounded by a compression spring 88 which has one end attached to a seat attached to the valve stem. B. a nut 89, and with its other end on the bottom of the bluff 87 is supported.
The spring 88 thus seeks to driik the sleeve-like upper part of the bumper 74 opposite the sleeve 87 upwards. The zluffe 87 is guided in a nipple 90 which is screwed into the housing 61 and which is also provided with a passage for the shaft of the valve closure body 78. The valve closure body 78 is provided at its lower end with a shoulder 78a in the form of a truncated cone, which can be placed on the valve seat 79 of corresponding design.
At the top, the valve closure body 78 also carries a cone-shaped part 78b, which works together with a seat formed in the guide nipple 90.
When the shaft 62 is powered by any source of power, e.g. B. an electric motor not shown in the drawing is driven, the valve tappets 74 are actuated by the cams 67 through the intermediary of the crank arms 71, 72 2. When the cam part 67o rests against the rollers 73, the valve tappets 74 are lifted so that the valve closing body 78 moves upwards and its conical sealing surface 78b rests on the seat made in the guide nipple 90.
The springs 88 see the actual termination without having to pay attention to a hermetic seal during the manufacture and assembly of the parts. When the cam parts 67a have unrolled from their corresponding rollers 73, the valve parts are moved downwards again by their own weight, so that the closing body 78 sits on its lower valve seat 73 and blocks the flow here. Overall, when the AVelle 6 @ is rotated, the connections shown in detail in FIGS. 4 to 8 are controlled one after the other.
By regulating the length of the adjustable Noeken 67 and the speed of rotation of the shaft 62, the connections explained in FIGS. 4 to 8 can be set for any desired period of time. A reduction in the opening and closing intervals by setting the corresponding cams is achieved in such a way that the corresponding bolt 69 is loosened and the two cam parts are rotated relative to one another in the corresponding direction and locked again.
The above-described and illustrated device enables, in a simple manner, the for the alternate input or. Switching off the vacuum and the atmospheric air required operations to control according to a predetermined plan, without extensive electrical equipment is necessary. Only one drive motor for the camshaft 62 is required.
12 and 13 show measuring vessels 1 which differ from the measuring vessels shown in FIGS. 1 and 3 in that the suction pipe or riser pipe 3 is fastened to the side wall of the vessel 1. In the embodiment according to FIG. 12, the suction or Riser 3 the vessel wall in the horizontal direction and ends in a vertical part, while in the embodiment of FIG. Riser pipe 3 ends in the wall of the vessel 1 and has a cross section in the shape of a D lying with the straight line below.
Measuring vessels designed in this way can be used in any of the described embodiments of the device according to the invention.
Furthermore, the outlet or. The dispensing valve of the vessel 1 can be designed in the manner shown in FIG. 12. According to this, the vessel 1 is provided with a downwardly extending, centrally arranged outlet tube 2 which protrudes into a funnel-shaped tube 81 provided with an outlet 82. Between the lower end of the tube 2 and the tube parts 81, 82 a valve ball 80 is mounted, which is usually pressed tightly against the mouth of the tube 2 by the tube part 81, 82 so that the measuring vessel # 1 is closed. sen is held.
If, however, the pipe part 81, 82 is moved downwards, then liquid can escape from the vessel 1 through the pipe 2. The seat of the valve ball is designed so that the liquid can flow through the funnel-shaped pipe part 81, 82 and exit. The outlet valve or the Au-nid downward movement of the pipe part 81, 82 required for its actuation can be controlled by a pneumatic device which is in connection with the system controlling the respective connection with the vacuum or the outside air.
Another embodiment of the outlet or. Dispensing device is in Fig. La. shown, which shows a measuring vessel also serving as a servo vessel on a larger scale.
In this embodiment, a frustoconical tap housing 33 is attached to the lower end of the outlet pipe 2. that is open at the bottom. A cock plug 34 with a bore 35 is rotatably mounted in the housing 33 and is held in tight contact with the inner wall of the cock housing 33 by a spring 37. The cock plug can be rotated by means of a shoulder 36, and the force of the spring 37 can be adjusted by means of a wing nut 39 which acts on a bell-shaped washer 38 which forms a counter bearing for the spring 37.
The rotation of the cock plug 34 takes place with the aid of a control device, as is indicated in FIG. 1 at 26 and which acts on the upper end 41 of the projection 36, which is designed as a square.
If it is desirable, more than one outlet or outlet can be used. Dispensing device can be arranged on each measuring vessel, each of which dispenses a certain measured amount of liquid. As can be seen from FIG. 1 a, in the exemplary embodiment shown there, a second outlet tap 7a is attached to an outlet pipe 2a of the measuring vessel 1, which pipe 2a is up to a certain height in the measuring vessel 1 so that a quantity of liquid is dispensed through the outlet tap 7a which is less than the menu dispensed by the tap 7. In such an embodiment, means can be provided by which it can optionally be determined
which of the different taps should be operated. Separate control devices for the taps can also be provided.
In a modified embodiment, a further outlet tap, by means of which a quantity of liquid that is different from the dispensing quantity of the tap 7, is to be dispensed, can also be arranged in the outlet pipe 2. Ranch in such a case, appropriately means are to be provided for the optional fixing of the xu actuating taps.
14 and 15 show another embodiment of a measuring vessel with a suction or riser pipe.
In this embodiment, a three-way valve 44, 45 is arranged between the upper end of the suction or riser pipe 4 and a measuring vessel 43, such that the measuring vessel 43 is an upper continuation of the suction or
Riser pipe 2 forms. The housing 44 of the three-way valve is provided with a drain pipe 48. In the position shown in FIG. 14, the three-way valve 44, 45 connects the measuring vessel 43 with the suction or suction valve. Riser pipe 42, while the drain 48 is blocked. Any number of electrodes are attached to the center of the measuring vessel, the length of which extends into the vessel 43 is extremely large. Two such electrodes 46 and 47 are shown in FIG.
The electrodes 46 and 47 are in an electrical circuit of the type that has been described in connection with FIGS. 1 and 2, and a device is also provided with which that electrode can optionally be held which corresponds to the desired dispensing quantity of the liquid.
When the liquid rises so far in the measuring vessel 43 as a result of the connection of the measuring vessel 43 with the vacuum through the pipe 42 that it reaches the switched-on electrode, the circuit is closed and the same sequence of the individual operations is initiated as described above.
The vacuum is switched off, outside air is let into the measuring vessel 43 and the three-way valve 44, 45 is switched so that it assumes the position shown in FIG. 15, in which the measured amount of liquid is dispensed through the outlet 48.
The three-way cock can be made by a suitable mechanism, e.g. B. a pinion, which is controlled by a piston alternately acted upon by the vacuum and the pressure of the outside air and acts on a pinion that causes the rotation of the cock plug 44.
I) The embodiment shown in FIGS. 14 and 15 can be cleaned very easily because it consists essentially of a straight tube. Above the housing 44 of the three-way stopcock, the tube can be widened so that, as shown in FIGS. 14 and 15 with dashed lines, a measuring vessel 49 with a larger capacity is formed.
Among the various possibilities for modifying the described devices within the scope of the invention, one should also be mentioned in which a common liquid storage container is used for a plurality of measuring and dispensing vessels. Such an embodiment can be used with advantage when identical or different individual amounts of a uniform liquid are to be dispensed in frequent succession.
When using a mechanically controlled valve device, as is shown in FIGS. 9 to 11, the use of a special servo vessel is not necessary even if the liquid is electrically non-conductive. In this case, the servo vessel according to FIG. 3 can be converted into a normal measuring vessel and dispensing vessel 10a, 10b and 10c.
