EMI0001.0004
Multistage Axial Flow Compressor The present invention relates to multistage axial flow compressors.
Is of particular importance. the inven tion in multi-stage axial compressors with a high compression ratio, for example. Hei compressors of aircraft gas turbines systems, in which the compressor FITS in the upper speed range, which corresponds to the performance during cruising or the maximum power of the system, should have high efficiency.
The compressor is usually built in such a way that it has the best efficiency within the specified speed range.
It has been shown that in order to achieve a high mass flow rate while avoiding an excessively large overall diameter, the hub / tip ratio of the blades of the inlet stages must be as small as possible. The hub / tip ratio is defined as follows:
EMI0001.0004
Ratio diameter <SEP> at the <SEP> blade root
<tb> Rotordurehmesser <SEP> on <SEP> the <SEP> sowing blade tip. Although the present invention is generally applicable to multi-stage axial flow compressors with a high compression ratio, it is particularly important where the hub / tip ratio in the inlet stage is less than 0.55: 1.
When the compressor is designed to run at a certain speed. the upper speed range has the best degree of efficiency, it decreases at speeds in the lower. The speed range in the inlet stages greatly decreases the efficiency, due to the reduced overall density ratio of the gas flowing through the compressor.
It is known that a compressor stage comprises a rotor blade ring with an adjoining guide blade ring. A guide vane ring, which is arranged directly in front of the rotor blade ring of the inlet stage, is referred to below as a guide vane ring upstream of the inlet stage.
The present invention aims to create a multi-stage axial compressor, S <B> S </B> in which the efficiency of the inlet stages can be improved during operation at speeds in the lower speed range, so that a high speed range can be increased over a wide speed range Efficiency is achievable.
The multi-stage axial compressor according to the invention, which has a guide vane ring upstream of an inlet stage, is characterized in that, depending on an operating variable of the compressor, there are provided:
to change the direction of gas flow through the guide vane ring, for the purpose of changing the twist of the gas flow entering the subsequent rotor blade km over the inner part of these rotor blades, so that the twist is greater than the specified operating variable at a lower speed range corresponding to values with an upper speed range corresponding values of this operating variable, and for the purpose of changing the twist in the opposite direction,
of the gas flow entering said rotor blade ring over the radially outer part of the rotor blades, so that the swirl in the values of the operating variable corresponding to the lower speed range is smaller than in the upper speed range corresponding values of this operating variable.
Said operating variable can be the real or the corrected speed or any other speed-dependent operating variable of the compressor.
The invention is particularly applicable to axial compressors whose compression ratio is greater than 6: 1, whose hub / tip ratio at the inlet is less than 0.55: 1 and whose total speed range is greater than 3: 1.
Such a compressor possesses. Now, for example, ten stages, with the rotor blades of the first stage being pre-arranged with a guide vane ring. This guide vane ring is usually called a swirl vane ring, the invention being particularly applicable to this swirl vane ring, either only to this or to the other upstream guide vane rings of the inlet stages of the compressor.
In the accompanying drawings, exemplary embodiments of the subject invention are shown; 1, 2 and 3 show different shapes of guide vanes which can be used in a compressor according to the invention, FIG. 4 shows a gas turbine plant, partly in section, with an exemplary embodiment of the compressor according to the invention, and FIG. 5 partly in section Ausfüh approximately form of the control means, as they can be used in the compressor according to FIG.
According to FIGS. 1 to 3, the inlet guide vane ring of an axial flow compressor has blades with the desired aerodynamic profile. Each inlet guide vane has an outer part 10 and an inner part 11. The vane part 10 is rotatably mounted about an axis in bearings 12 in the outer housing 13 of the compressor, while the vane part 11 is mounted in the same way in bearings 5 in a ring that is attached to the stationary support part 6 is attached for the front compressor bearing.
The outer blade parts 10, which are stored in the housing 13 Ge, are connected to each other for the same setting conditions about the axes Y-Y. The inner blade parts 11, which are mounted in the support part 6, are also connected to one another. In the examples, an arm 20 is attached to each blade part, which arms are connected to one another by a ring 21; the ring 21 is. rotatable around the compressor axis, which rotates the blade parts and thus the twist, which is given by these blade parts to the gases flowing through, changes who can.
The outer and inner blade parts are each assigned a drive motor 22 and 23, which enable the blade parts to be adjusted. In the drawing, these motors are shown as hydraulic motors; however, electric motors can also be provided.
The arrangement is such that when the compressor is operating in the lower speed range, the outer parts of the guide vanes are adjusted to reduce the swirl at the outlet of the inlet guide vanes, while at the same time the inner parts of the vane are adjusted to increase the swirl.
As FIG. 1 shows, the two parts of the guide vanes are formed by cutting the vanes in half, so that a radially outer vane part 10 and a radially inner vane part 11 are formed. In this exemplary embodiment, both blade parts 1.0, 11 are also supported in bearings that are carried by a ring 7.
The ring 7 extends axially with respect to the axis of rotation X -X of the compressor and is fastened to radial struts 8 be on which the stationary bearing part 1.6 is supported. It can thus be seen that both blade parts 10, 11 are pivoted so that the swirl of the gas flow through the compressor can be changed by pivoting the blade parts about an axis Y-Y running in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the blade.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, each of the adjustable guide vanes is divided in the diagonal direction so that an outer vane part 10 is formed which extends at the outer vane end over the entire vane width and contains the leading edge of the vane, during the inner blade part 11 has the blade rear edge and extends over the entire blade width at the radially inner blade end. The two vane parts 10, 11 are adjustable about the axis Y-Y, namely the outer vane part 10 by means of the motor 22 and the inner vane part 11 by means of the motor 23.
In certain cases deformable blades, for example made of suitable steel, can also be seen in front of them, as shown in FIG. 3. The arrangement is such that the blade ends can be rotated simultaneously in opposite directions by the motors 22 and 23. In this embodiment, the two blade parts 10, 11 are not designed as separate parts.
The actuation of the drive motors 22, 23 is controlled by a speed response device. This device can, for example, be a centrifugal regulator which is driven at a speed proportional to the speed of the compressor. On the other hand, the control can also take place by means of a device responding to the pressure ratio of the compressor.
If electric motors are seen to set the blade parts before, these devices can then be intended to switch on the power supply to the motors when a certain compressor speed or a certain Kom compressor pressure ratio is reached.
In certain cases it may be desirable to make the setting of one or both of the blade points constant in a certain speed range of the compressor. In this case, a control device can be seen, which responds hydraulically to speed changes and thereby controls the supply of servofluidum to a servo motor. Such an arrangement is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, for example.
In this example, the multi-stage axial compressor 14 of the gas turbine system is provided for conveying compressed air into the combustion device 16, in which fuel supplied by means of the injection nozzles 17 is burned. The combustion products from the combustion device 16 flow through the turbine 18, which is connected to the compressor by a shaft 19 to drive the compressor.
The nozzles 17 are supplied with fuel from a tank 24 by means of a fuel pump 26. The suction side of the fuel pump 26 is connected to the tank 24 by means of a suction line 25, while the delivery side of the pump 26 is connected to a distributor for the nozzle 17 via a throttle 27.
The adjustable parts 10, 11 of the inlet guide vanes are for simultaneous actuation in: opposite directions. connected to one another by means of the hydraulic servo devices 22, 23.
Each piston rod 32ca (fig. 5) of the piston 32 of a hydraulic servo device is connected to a radial arm 28 which is attached to an adjustable part of a guide vane. Each hydraulic servo device 22, 23 has, according to FIG. 5, a cylinder 31 in which the piston 32 is guided,
and a control mechanism 33, by means of which the position of the piston 32 in the cylinder is fixed as a function of the corrected speed of the system. The piston rod 32a is hollow and mounted in guides 34, 35, which at the same time serve as stops for the piston 32.
The cavity of the piston rod 32a connects through a bore 36 with the cylinder space 37 on one side of the piston 32, so that the effective area of the piston 32 facing the cylinder space 37 is larger than that of the cylinder space 38 facing piston surface. The fuel pump 26 supplies fuel to each cylinder 31 of the servo devices through a line 39.
The line 39 is connected to bores 40, 41 in the servo devices. The bore 40 opens directly into the cylinder chamber 38, while the bore 41 is connected via a throttle 42 to the cylinder chamber 37 ih.
The control mechanism 33 has two compartments 43, 44 which are separated from each other by a flexible Mem brane 45. From the part 43 is closed by a line 46 downstream of a flow throttle 61 with a variable opening cross section to a line 60, while the compartment 44 upstream of the throttle 61 is connected by a line 47 to the line 60. The line 60 is blended with the suction line 25 and contains a displacement pump 64 with a constant delivery rate at a constant speed. The plump 64 is driven via the drive means 64a (FIG. 4) by the compressor shaft 19, so that the fuel flow through the throttle 61 is a function of the speed of the system.
The cross-sectional area of the throttle 61 is set as a function of the temperature in the inlet of the compressor by a container 65 arranged in the inlet acting as a temperature sensor. The setting is made by means of the bellows 66, which is closed through the line 67 to the container 65. The bellows 65 is arranged in the interior of a housing 68.
Thus, the fluid flow through the pump is proportional to the instantaneous engine speed, while the cross-sectional area of the throttle 61 is adjusted as a function of the compressor inlet temperature. The conditions are chosen so that the pressure drop occurring at the throttle 61 is proportional to the corrected speed of the machine.
The membrane 45 is loaded by a spring 50 by means of a rod 51. This spring load depends on the position of the piston 32 in the cylinder 31. Furthermore, the diaphragm 45 is loaded by a second spring 52, which acts in the same direction as the spring 50, but opposite to the loading of the diaphragm caused by the fluid pressure. The movements of the diaphragm 45 are transmitted to a rod 53 which carries a hemispherical valve element 54.
The valve element 54 controls the outflow of fluid from the cylinder space 37 through a line 55 which leads from this space into a chamber 56. The chamber 56 is connected to the suction side of the pump 26 by a line 57. When the pressure drop in the described system is zero, the piston 32 is located at the left end of the cylinder 31 (FIG. 5) and the spring 50 is relieved.
It goes without saying that when a liquid pressure acts on the diaphragm 45, namely sufficiently strong to be able to lift the load from the spring 52, the valve element 54 lifts from its seat, whereby fluid can escape from the cylinder space 37 .
The pressure in this cylinder space decreases and the piston 32 moves to the right according to FIG. 5 until the load on the membrane 45 caused by the spring 50 outweighs the fluid pressure acting on this membrane again. Thus, the piston 32 assumes a certain position in the cylinder 31 for each value of the corrected speed and the adjustable blade part 10 or
11 of each inlet guide vane, which is connected to the piston 32, is set to a specific outlet angle through which the swirl of the air flow flowing past this vane part is determined.
The effective cross-sectional area of the throttle 61, the area of the membrane 45 and the strength of the spring 52 are selected with respect to the delivery rate of the pump 64 so that the described control of the blade parts 10, 11 within a speed range We act, the lower limit of which is determined by the strength of the spring 52.
