Soll nun bei abnehmender Maschinend-rehzalil das Drehmoment konstant gehalten werden, so muss auch der Ladedruck PL konstant bleiben. Würden die Steuer- und Durchlassquer- schnitte an der Maschine und der Turbine nie lit verändert, so würde sowohl das Druck- gefäHe durch den Maschinenzylinder für kon stanten Spülüberschuss abnehmen, und es würde auch der Staudruck vor der Turbine absinken;

Fig. 5 zeigt schematisch die in Fig. 1 dargestellte Anordnung, ergänzt durch eine Einrichtung zur automatischen Konstanthal- tung des Ladedruckes PL auf einem der momentanen Maschinenbelastung entspre- elienden Wert;
Für jede Einstellung des Ab- sperrorganes, entsprechend jeweiligen Zeit- quers:chnitten f"m, f"m, f'#,m ...f '.m an der Maschine, ergibt sichje eine parabolische Kurve. f':#m entspricht einem spä;
Charged two-stroke internal combustion engine for vehicle propulsion with a capstan and charging fan driven by an exhaust gas turbine. The present invention relates to a supercharged two-stroke internal combustion engine for vehicle propulsion with a flushing and charging fan driven by an exhaust gas turbine.
As is well known, the requirement that the torque remains constant over the entire, often quite wide speed range or, if possible, increases with decreasing machine speed, is made on internal combustion engines intended for vehicle propulsion.
There are now supercharged two-stroke internal combustion engines with mechanically driven flushing and charging blowers are known, in which this requirement, which is an approximated constant maintenance of the charging pressure over the entire speed range, is a prerequisite it is fulfilled that a mechanically driven by the machine, based on displacement effect flushing and charging blower (rotary piston compressor, looser blower, helical gear blower)
is provided and the time cross-section of the machine, which is decisive for the Luftdurellsatz during flushing, can be changed as a function of the machine speed, in such a way that the time cross-section is continuously reduced as the speed decreases. This is achieved with these machines by: - A shut-off device driven by the machine is installed in the exhaust duct, through which the exhaust duct is closed earlier (low speed) or later (high speed) after the flushing process.
A machine of this type is also known, in which ' it the great power expenditure required to drive the charge blower in partial load operation, where the fuel consumption is particularly dependent on the blower fan drive power is influenced, is reduced by reducing the boost pressure to be supplied by the blower to a value that is sufficient for the relevant partial load on the machine by adjusting the shut-off element in the exhaust duct not only depending on the machine speed,
but also. as a function of the main load, in such a way that the shut-off device in the exhaust duct is closed later with decreasing load on the main engine - so that with a low load there is a significant reduction in the boost pressure and thus a significant saving in fan drive power.
A further simplification of this measure could be achieved if it were possible to use a mechanically simpler centrifugal fan instead of the rather expensive turntable, oil distributor. But since the delivery head of a solitary blower is dependent on the drive speed - Drückhölie approximately proportionally d a square of the speed -. it is not possible to keep the boost pressure constant over the entire speed range as required with a simple mechanical drive.
An intermediate transmission with a variable transmission ratio would therefore be required, with which the centrifugal fan could be driven approximately at a constant speed over the entire speed range of the machine. Such an arrangement is complicated, expensive and disadvantageous in terms of efficiency.
Much more advantageous is an arrangement in which the centrifugal fan is driven by an exhaust gas turbine, in that on the one hand it enables a drive speed for the charger that is independent of the maselline speed without mechanical complications and on the other hand the drive energy for the charger is obtained from the lost energy of the machine, from the exhaust gas energy.
This also makes it possible without the spec. To increase fuel consumption beyond an inhospitable limit, -with much higher boost pressures and thus much higher useful pressure and greater spec. Performance to work.
In order to enable the required performance characteristics through appropriate cooperation between loading group and machine in the entire load and speed range, however, a corresponding design of the machine and turbine is required, which is the subject of the present invention.
According to the same, in the exhaust duct of the machine near the working cylinder, a shut-off device is provided that is driven depending on the machine speed, the closing point of which can be adjusted during operation after the working cylinder has been flushed out, and the exhaust gas turbine is also equipped with inlet nozzles that can be changed in their passage cross-section during operation.
The energy available to drive the turbine and thus the fan is dependent on the Wäxme gradient that can be made available to the turbine; this again depends on the pressure ratio that comes into consideration for the turbine and the - gas temperature in front of the turbine. The pressure ratio for the turbine is ## if, p, "# - the pressure Pa in front of the turbine and p .. the pressure of the atmosphere in which the machine is working.
The pressure in front of the turbine p, "is equal to the boost pressure but reduced by the pressure gradient Ap, p, which is necessary for the air throughput through the machine. The gas temperature in front of the turbine depends on the load on the machine and on the flushing flow through this.
At full load and high speed, when the machine is charged with high boost pressure PL, the shut-off element in the outlet channel must be closed before the inlet elements on the cylinder are closed to achieve a corresponding charging period. The cylinder is then charged to the high boost pressure until the intake ports are closed. In order to achieve the required flushing throughput, a relatively large pressure gradient Ap "p through the machine is required in this operating state.
This pressure drop can, however, be overcome by the loading group, since the absolute value of the loading pressure PL is large, so that there is still a considerable pressure drop available for the turbine, and the exhaust gas temperatures are also high due to the high fuel load and the high pressures so that the exhaust gas energy is sufficient to drive the charging group.
If the torque is now to be kept constant with decreasing machine end-speed, the boost pressure PL must also remain constant. If the control and passage cross-sections on the machine and the turbine were never changed, the pressure risk through the machine cylinder for constant flushing surplus would decrease, and the dynamic pressure in front of the turbine would also decrease;
the pressure gradient through the mass cylinder and the turbine would be reduced to about the fourth part at half the mass cylinder speed. The charge weight in the cylinder would be reduced in accordance with the decrease in the absolute pressure of the charge air, which would also reduce the fuel weight introduced into the engine. The machine could keep the required torque tight.
The desired machine characteristics can be achieved by adjusting the closing time of a shut-off element in the exhaust duct and through inlet nozzles of an exhaust gas turbine that can be changed in their passage cross-section.
To keep the full load torque of the machine constant, the time cross-section of the machine can be reduced when the machine speed decreases by earlier closure of the shut-off element in the outlet channel, so that with constant flushing excess, the pressure gradient through the working cylinder remains approximately constant, as does the back pressure in front of the turbine can be held at the same height
that as the engine speed decreases, the cross-section of the inlet nozzles is reduced. The boost pressure, PL =: P,'+ JPs, is then kept at the same level.
Since the fuel load can remain the same and the dynamic pressure in front of the turbine is the same, the available heat gradient for the turbine also remains the same, so that - assuming the same group efficiency - the group speed will remain the same, so that the supercharger will be able to deliver the air taken in by the machine under constant pressure for every macroscopic number.
If the engine load is reduced without any special measures while the engine speed remains unchanged, the associated reduction in the amount of fuel and the increase in the excess combustion air would result in a rapid drop in exhaust gas temperatures.
The speed of the charging group would drop so much, and the charging pressure would decrease so much that the excess air required by the engine cylinder would no longer be sufficient for it to be flushed out by increasing the pressure gradient A% in proportion to the remaining dynamic pressure in front of the turbine would be too high.
As a matter of fact, a lower load pressure PL is sufficient for a smaller load; a reduction in the load pressure must also be brought about in order to save drive power for the fan due to the drop in the exhaust gas energy available for operating the turbine. This is in turn possible by influencing the time cross section of the machine and by changing the Durelilass cross section of the inlet nozzles of the turbine.
Accordingly, with constant machine speed and decreasing machine load, the time cross-section of the machine can be increased by later closing the shut-off device in the outlet channel, so that the pressure gradient A% through the machine cylinder is reduced for a constant flushing excess, which at the same time leads to a reduction of the back pressure P, 3 # in front of the turbine of the Durelilass cross section of the inlet nozzles in front of the same is increased.
A later closure of the shut-off element is permitted because at partial load the charging period is no longer required and the closing point of this element can only take place after the inlet openings of the working cylinder have been closed.
In the event of a low machine load and a corresponding late closing of the shut-off element, after the inlet elements have been closed, the working piston still pushes part of the cylinder inlet into the outlet channel; the corresponding expulsion work applied by the piston contributes to an increase in the exhaust gas energy coming to the turbine.
Expediently, the use of a charging group, driven only by the exhaust gas energy, of two-stroke vehicle engines in the wide load and speed range for this type of machine is made possible by the fact that the closing point of the shut-off element is in the outlet channel after the flushing out of the The working cylinder is adjusted depending on the machine speed as well as depending on the machine load,
and that at the same time the Durelilass cross section of the inlet nozzles on the exhaust gas turbine is changed as a function of the machine speed and the maseline load.
In particular, the operating characteristics required for a vehicle engine can be achieved by closing the shut-off element in the outlet channel after flushing is completed later with increasing machine speed and earlier with increasing machine load, and that at the same time the cross-flow of the inlet nozzles at - < / B> the turbine is enlarged with increasing machine speed and reduced in size with increasing machine load.
A regulating arrangement is also possible in which the time cross-section for the Duj # Clis flushing of the working cylinder is only adjusted depending on the load and in which the same does not change depending on the speed.
Because it is necessary that the boost pressure PL remains constant at constant load but variable speed and the pressure gradient Ap, -due to the working cylinder with the speed with this type of regulation , must be with decreasing speed the back pressure in front of the turbine increases with decreasing machine speed.
This arrangement therefore requires a turbine construction in which the nozzle cross-section can be adjusted within wider limits as a function of the speed, without an intolerable deterioration in the turbine efficiency.
With this type of regulation, the closing point of the shut-off element in the outlet channel is only adjusted depending on the machine load after the working cylinder has been flushed out, and at the same time the passage cross-section of the inlet nozzles on the exhaust gas turbine both as a function of the engine speed as well as depending on the machine load, in such a way that the shut-off element in the outlet channel is closed earlier after the flushing process is completed and the machine load increases,
and that the passage cross section; the inlet throat on the turbine increases with increasing engine speed and decreases with increasing engine load.
In the accompanying Figs. 1 to 6- , exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown.

FIG. 5 shows schematically the arrangement shown in FIG. 1, supplemented by a device for automatically maintaining the boost pressure PL constant at a value corresponding to the current machine load;
Fig- 6 shows schematically the arrangement shown in FIG. 3, with the difference that the speed-dependent adjustment movements are not controlled by a torque regulator, but by one under the influence of the Pressure drop Ap, p can be brought about by the working cylinder of the actuating control piston.
In FIG. 1, working piston 1 in the working cylinder 2 of the internal combustion engine operated in the two-stroke process performs its stroke movement and transmits it through the sellub rod 3 in a known manner Way his work movement on the engine, not shown, of the internal combustion engine. The rinsing and charge air is supplied to the working cylinder from the air reservoir 4 through channel 5 and through the inlet openings 6 controlled by the working piston.
Towards the end of the expansion stroke, the exhaust gases flow through the outlet openings 7 , also controlled by the AT working piston 1 in this example, into the outlet channel 8. In the- Near the working cylinder, in the outlet channel 9 , the shut-off device - 9 - in the example shown is a rotary flap - </ B driven by the machine > arranged, of which the outlet before the control of the outlet openings 7 in the working cylinder,
in the case of greater loads, it is shut off before the inlet openings 6 are closed. The fuel is fed to the machine from the injection pump 10 via the pressure line 11 and nozzle 12. The measurement of the injection quantity, which is a measure of the torque delivered by the machine and for the machine load, is carried out by the adjusting lever 13 provided on the injection pump.
In position B, the lever 13 , the machine is supplied by the injection pump, the minimal amount of fuel required for idling, in position B, the amount of fuel required for full load. The flushing and charge air required for the operation of the machine is sucked in by the blower 14 from the atmosphere at pressure p., and is compressed to the required charge pressure PL and via the Line 15 led to the air reservoir 4 on the machine. The charge air is compressed in the impeller 16 of the blower.
The fan impeller 16 is connected directly to the impeller 18 of the exhaust gas turbine 19 via the shaft 17 .
The fan 14/16 is therefore only driven by the exhaust gas turbine 19; there is no mechanical connection to the machine. The exhaust gases coming from the machine are fed from the outlet channel 8 via line 2b to the exhaust gas turbine 19 . In the arrangement shown, a radial turbine is assumed to which the exhaust gases from the spiral housing 21 are fed radially from the outside via the guide nozzles 22.
After the guide nozzles 22, the exhaust gases flow through the turbine runner 18 with power output and leave the turbine through the nozzle 23. There they flow again into the surrounding atmosphere at pressure p. , . The flow cross-section of the guide nozzles is adjustable. It can be reduced or enlarged by rotating the guide vanes 24 forming the nozzles. In the section through part of the turbine shown in FIG. 1, a possibility for this adjustment of the guide vanes 24 is indicated. The individual guide vanes 24 have pivot pins 25 which are rotatably mounted in the turbine housing 19 .
On the pivot pin sit levers 26 which engage with pins 27 in grooves of a ring 28 rotatably mounted about the turbine axis. One of the levers, 26 ', is designed as a double lever, with which the ring 28 is rotated with the rotation of the associated guide vane, so that all guide vanes perform the corresponding rotary movement To run.
In position L, of the lever 26 ', the guide vanes are in a position which corresponds to the largest throughflow cross-section of the inlet nozzles, in position L, of the lever 26' </ B> this flow cross-section is brought to the smallest value * - in Fig. List the shut-off element 9 controlling the outlet ducts, in the example shown a rotary valve, partly still Drawn in side elevation * - The rotary flap 9 is driven by a shaft 29 ,
which at the end has a more common screw thread 30 , into which a sliding sleeve 31 engages. On the other hand, the sliding sleeve 31 engages with straight wedges in a spline shaft base 32 , which is seen at the end of the drive shaft 33 . A centrifugal governor 34 is mounted in a known manner on the drive shaft 33, the centrifugal weights of which act on an adjusting sleeve 35. The drive shaft 33 is driven by the machine.
A certain position of the adjusting sleeve 35 corresponds to each machine speed. The verifiable sleeve 35 has a second groove 36 in which a driver of a swivel lever < B> 37 engages. The middle twist point 38 of the swivel lever 37 assumes a certain position depending on the machine speed. At the highest speed, this pivot point is in position D, at the lowest speed in position D ,. The upper end 40 of the pivot lever 37 is connected to the lever 13 on the fuel pump by a rod 39 .
Each injection quantity and thus each machine load corresponds to a certain position of the upper pivot point of the pivoting lever 37. With the smallest load it is in B,. ', With the greatest load in BJ- The lower, end 41 of the pivot lever < B> 37 is connected via a rod 42 to the lower end 43 of a lever 45 articulated in the fixed pivot point 44. A driver of the lever 45 engages in a groove of the sliding sleeve 31 .
This sleeve 31 is thus shifted laterally when the lever 45 is pivoted. During this movement, it adjusts the angle between the drive shaft 33 and the shaft 29 of the shut-off element 9 in the outlet channel 8 </ B>, so that the exhaust port is closed sooner or later. If the sleeve 31 is shifted to the right by the lever 45, the shut-off element 9 closes later, and earlier if it is shifted to the left.
In the position A, - of the ilebel end 43, the shut-off device closes the outlet channel, viewed late in the control diagram of the machine, only after the pinhole members have been closed on the working cylinder, in position A , early on, for example at the bottom dead center position of the working piston.
The upper fork end 44 'of a pivot lever 45' is now still at the lever end 43. articulated, which is mounted rotatably about a central fixed pivot point 46. The lower end 47 of this pivot lever is connected by a rod 48 to the upper end of the lever 26 'of the guide vane adjustment on the turbine.
The arrangement shown in FIG. 1 now works with the various changes in the operating state of the machine as follows: a) Load, that is to say the injection quantity remains constant, but the speed increases: upper end 40 of the pivot lever 37 remains in place, the adjusting sleeve 35 is moved to the right, as the flyweights of the speed controller swing outwards. See a-Lich lower end 41 of the pivot lever moves to the right. The sliding sleeve 31 is also pulled to the right, the shut-off element 9 in the outlet channel 8 closes later, thus increasing the machine's time cross-section.
At the same time, the upper fork end 44 'of the pivoting lever 45' is moved to the right, the lower end 47 of this lever moves. to the left, the lever 26 ' on the guide vane adjustment is shifted against L, the guide vanes are adjusted to a larger passage cross-section.
So constant load, increasing speed: the shut-off element in the outlet channel closes later, the passage cross-section at the inlet nozzles of the turbine is increased. A% remains constant, pressure gradient through the turbine remains roughly constant despite the greater gas weight, speed the loading group remains roughly constant.
b) The engine speed remains unchanged, but the load (injection quantity) is increased: Lever 13 on the injection pump is swiveled in direction B. The upper end 40 of the pivoting lever 37 is moved to the right, in the direction of B, via the rod 39 . Since the speed is not changed, socket 35 and pivot point 38 remain in their previous position.
The lower end 41 of the pivot lever 37 deflects to the left and moves the lower end 43 of the lever 45 likewise to the left in the direction of A, as a result of which the sliding sleeve becomes 31 also shifted to the left; An angle adjustment occurs between the drive shaft 33 and the shut-off element 9 in the sense of an earlier closure of the outlet channel 8. The charging period for the working cylinder is increased which increases the weight of fresh air in the cylinder and is adapted to the larger injection quantity.
The Friseliluft- corrugated also experiences an increase in that the boost pressure PL rises because the lever 45 'is pivoted at the same time as the pivot point 43 is shifted to the left, so that the lever end 47 moves to the right and, via the rod 48, the lever 26 'in direction L, is pivoted. This results in a closing movement of the guide vanes 24 and a reduction in the flow cross section of the inlet nozzles to the turbine formed by them.
The dynamic pressure p, 4 'in front of the turbine increases, the exhaust gas energy coming to the turbine increases, the speed of the loading group increases, which means that the pressure of the air conveyed by the fan is also increased.
If both the load and the speed of the machine are changed at the same time, the corresponding combined control movements are carried out by the device shown in FIG. 1.
In FIGS. 2a and 2b, characteristic curves for the pressure ratios Q, as they arise in the device provided according to FIG. 1, are plotted, namely FIG. 2a shows the Conditions at full load and Fig. 2b those at part load.
In these figures, the boost pressure and the profile of the dynamic pressure p, * in front of the turbine are shown above the engine speed nm, as it results from different settings of the shut-off element in the outlet channel and inft different settings of the flow cross-section at the turbine inlet .
From the line liL = const. Downwards, the pressure drop Ap required by the machine cylinder is plotted as a function of the machine end number for constant flushing excess with a fixed setting of the closing pliase of the shut-off element.
For each setting of the shut-off device, according to the respective time frame: cut f "m, f" m, f '#, m ...f ' .m of the machine, there is each a parabolic curve. f ': # m corresponds to a late;
ten, f '"m an early closure of the shut-off device. In an analogous manner, for different sizes of the flow cross-section of the guide nozzles of the turbine f', T, f '# C ... f', IT applies the resulting pressure gradient APT. A prerequisite is that the ambient pressure in which the machine is working is 1 ata.
There is also a parabolic curve for each Durelist flow cross section. The boost pressure _PL remains constant over the entire speed range at the value PLI required for full load, whenever 'JPTI + A PspI # - PLI.
The fulfillment of this condition is possible according to the arrangement shown in Fig.- 1 in that with decreasing speed both the closure of the shut-off member in the outlet channel of the machine takes place earlier, that is, the time cross line fm is reduced, as well at the same time the flow cross-section at the turbine inlet fT is reduced.
The associated cross-sections to be set during the regulation process are determined by the fact that the corresponding parabolic curves must intersect on a straight line which represents the dynamic pressure p141 in front of the turbine.
Fig. 2b shows the analogous conditions at partial load, where, as already described, a reduction of the charging pressure PL from PL to PLI is necessary to save drive power for the charge fan, otherwise it is necessary the exhaust gas energy would no longer be sufficient to propel the group.
The - division of the total pressure drop pl; --- p "must be carried out in such a way that the proportion of the pressure drop through the turbine is as large as possible, i.e. the pressure drop Ap through the working cylinder must be possible - - are kept as small as possible - the smaller, the the machine load is.
Mainly, the closing point of the shut-off device in the outlet channel must be relocated later as the load decreases and the machine speed remains constant. So that the back pressure Pill * in front of the turbine is set to the correct value, an adjustment is required as the machine load decreases, namely an increase in the flow cross-section of the turbine nozzles.
The example of a device is also shown schematically in FIG. 3, in which the time cross-section for flushing the working cylinder is only adjusted as a function of the load, but in which the same is adjusted at a constant dimension machine load and variable speed is left constant.
In this arrangement, only the adjustment lever is used. 13 on the injection pump 10 with which the injection quantity is changed, to the phase adjustment of the shut-off element 9 in the outlet channel 8 < / B> acted, but not from the speed controller 34.
On the adjustment device for the passage cross section on the exhaust gas turbine, on the levers 26, 26 ', the adjusting ring 28 and the guide vanes (not shown), however, are simultaneously operated by the adjusting lever 13 on the injection pump as acted on by the speed controller 34.
The adjustment movements take place as follows: With constant machine speed and decreasing machine load, both the shut-off device 9 and the inlet nozzles on the turbine are set to a larger passage cross-section. With constant machine load but decreasing machine speed, the setting of the shut-off element 9 remains unchanged, and the flow cross-section of the inlet nozzles is only reduced on the turbine.
In the former case, i.e. at constant speed and decreasing load, lever 13 on the injection pump is adjusted in direction a; d B, to a smaller injection quantity. In this case, rod 39 acts on the upper end 49 of an iliac 51 mounted in a fixed pivot point 50 , this latter lever acting against it pivoted clockwise. With its lower end, the lever 51 engages in the driving groove of the sliding sleeve 31 and moves it in the direction of A,
where the closing point of the shut-off element 9 in the outlet channel 8 is later relocated. At the same time, the angle lever 53 , which can be pivoted about a fixed twist point 52, is also rotated clockwise. The rod 54 is articulated on the horizontal leg of this lever and engages at one end 55 of a balancing lever 57 that is displaceably mounted in a straight-line guide 56 .
The other end 58 of this balancing lever 57 over a rod 59 with one also around a fixed point 60 pivotable angle lever 61, which engages with its vertical leg in the driving groove of the adjusting sleeve 35 of the speed regulator 34, forms the instantaneous center at a constant speed. Lever 57 is therefore pivoted upwards around point 58 .
At the point 62 of the lever 57 guided in the straight-line guide 56 a rod 63 is articulated, which the movement of the Point 62 transfers to the adjusting lever 26 ' of the nozzle adjustment on the turbine. When point 62 is pivoted upward, lever 26 ' is moved towards position L, that is, in the opening direction for the inlet nozzles of the turbine. i In the second case, that is, when the loading is kept constant, but the machine speed changes, z. B.
reduced, the lever 13 and thus the lever 51 and the displacement sleeve 31 #i remain in their previous position, the closing point of the closing element 9 remains unchanged. The angle lever 53 is also held, so that the left end point 55 of the balancing lever 57 does not change its position; it forms the instantaneous center for the movement of the lever 57. As the speed decreases, the adjusting sleeve 35 of the speed controller 34 moves to the left against the position D, </ B> to.
The angle lever 61 that engages in the driving groove of the sleeve 35 is rotated counterclockwise around point 60 , where - through point 58 which at point 55 swing the balance lever 57 is shifted downwards. The articulation point 62 also moves downwards, and the lever 26 ' for. the nozzle adjustment is adjusted towards point L, towards a reduction in the nozzle cross-section.
If the machine load and speed change at the same time, the speed-dependent and load-dependent adjustment movements , take place at the same time, i.e. the closing phase of the shut-off element is only load-dependent The opening cross-section of the turbine nozzles, on the other hand, is adjusted depending on the load and speed.
In FIGS. 4a and 4b, characteristics for the pressure ratios, as they are given in the device provided according to FIG. 3, are plotted, namely FIG. 4a the conditions at full load and Fig.- 4b the ones at part load.
The representation is the same as in Fig. 2a and 2b. Since the setting of the shut-off element in the outlet channel is only changed as a function of the machine load, and the same in The dynamic pressure p, - 'is shown in FIGS. 4a and 4b by only a parabolic curve.
In order to maintain the progression of the dynamic pressure - Pi "required to keep the boost pressure PL constant depending on the engine speed nm, the adjustment of the flow cross-section of the inlet nozzles on the turbine must be somewhat larger take place as in the device shown in FIGS. 1, 2a, 2b.
The device shown in FIG. 3 has the advantage that the closing split of the shut-off element 9 in the outlet channel only has to be adjusted by one company However, a turbine design is required that still works with good efficiency in the further adjustment range of the inlet nozzles.
The devices shown in FIGS. 1 and 3 can be supplemented by additional organs which enable # the boost pressure PL required for each machine load automatically is regulated by a piston, which is on the one hand under the action of the boost pressure, on the other hand under the action of a variable depending on the amount of fuel introduced into the engine,
the ratio between the time cross-section of the machine determined by the setting of the shut-off element in the outlet channel and the passage cross-section of the inlet nozzles of the exhaust gas turbine is influenced in such a way that with constant machine speed and constant injection quantity, but decreasing boost pressure, the time cross-section of the machine simultaneously changes increases and the opening cross-section of the turbine nozzles is reduced,
As a result, the pressure gradient that can be used in the turbine and thus the turbine output increase and the speed at which the charge fan is driven and its delivery head are increased to the required value.
When the set boost pressure is exceeded, the turbine nozzles are opened by the control piston and the time cross-section of the machine is reduced, as a result of which the speed of the charging group and thus the boost pressure drop again.
Such a device, applied to the arrangement shown in FIG. 1, is shown schematically in FIG. 5. The same measure can also be provided for the arrangement shown in FIG. 3.
As can be seen from FIG. 5, the upper end 65 of the balancing lever 64, which is moved as a function of the engine speed as well as as a function of the machine load, over-acts Rod 66 on two two-armed levers 67 and 68, which are placed in the middle bearings 69 and 70 are slidably mounted. The lower end of the lever 67 and the upper end of the lever 68 are articulated to one another and connected to the rod 66 .
The upper end of the lever 67 engages in the driver groove of the sliding bracket 31 of the phase adjustment for the shut-off element in the outlet channel.
The lower end of the lever 68 is linked with a fork to the adjusting lever 26 ' of the cross-section regulation of the turbine inlet nozzles. The middle displaceable bearing points of the levers 67 and 68 are connected to the two -vertical legs of a three-armed lever 71 rotatably mounted in a fixed point via rods > connected. The end 72 of the third Sel: the handle of this three-armed lever 71 is via a rod 73 with the piston sliding tightly in a control cylinder 74 < B> 75 connected.
The lower side of this piston 75 is under the action of the boost pressure pL; the force of a return spring 76 acts on the upper side. This return spring 76 is supported in the sliding cover 77 of the control cylinder. The position of this cover 77 is determined by a lever 78 which is connected to a third leg 80 via rod 79 of the adjusting lever 13 ' is connected to the injection pump. A certain position of the spring support 77 is therefore assigned to each injection quantity.
The function of the additional device shown in FIG. 5 is as follows: If the engine speed and the engine load remain unchanged, but the boost pressure PL falls below the desired value for some reason (e.g.
B. by lowering the exhaust gas temperature or by increasing the intake temperature in front of the fan), the piston 75 moves down a little and the three-armed lever 71 is pivoted a little clockwise . This moves the middle bearing point 69 of the lever 67 to the right and at the same time the middle bearing point 70 of the lever 68 to the left relocated. The common point of articulation of the two levers 67 and 68 remains, so it forms the momentary center. By shifting the pivot point 69 to the right, the sliding sleeve 31 is also shifted slightly to the right in the direction of A,. .
This closes the shut-off element in the outlet channel a little later and Ap., P decreases. At the same time, by shifting the dxelipoint 70 to the left, the lever 26 ' is pivoted slightly to the left in the direction L, whereby the flow cross section of the turbine inlet nozzles is slightly smaller becomes.
As a result of this adjustment movement, a change in the gradient distribution is carried out in that the pressure gradient A% is slightly reduced by the machine and the back pressure in front of the turbine pi- 'is increased slightly. The turbine output will increase, the speed of the exhaust gas turbo group will increase, with which the Ladedn-tek assumes the required value again. The reverse process takes place when the load pressure exceeds the desired value.
If the speed of the machine remains unchanged and if the load on the machine is increased by adjusting the lever 13 'in the direction of B ", then on the one hand the sliding sleeve 31 is shifted to the left in the direction -A2, whereby the Closing member in the outlet channel is closed earlier, on the other hand lever 26 ' is pivoted in the direction of L, whereby the inlet cross section of the turbine nozzles is reduced.
At the same time, however, the spring support 77 is also set lower, which also leads to a downward movement of the control piston 75 as long as the pressure PL has not yet risen. The three-armed lever 71 is thus rotated in a clockwise direction, whereby on the one hand the initiated early production of the closing phase of the shut-off element is partially reversed.
On the other hand leads; on the other hand, by turning the lever 71 lever 26 ' clockwise an additional movement in direction L, -aus, so that the increase in dynamic pressure Pi-11 in front of the turbine is intensified Closing movement of the inlet nozzles is accelerated and the speed of the exhaust gas turbo group increases rapidly.
The boost pressure will now also increase rapidly, the piston 75 moves upwards while compressing the spring 76 , lever 71 is pivoted to the left, which now the closing phase of the shut-off element is relocated earlier according to the higher boost pressure and the turbine inlet nozzles, which were temporarily set too small, are opened again a little and finally set to the value corresponding to the increased boost pressure.
With the setting shown in FIG. 5, the boost pressure pL is automatically adjusted to the required value corresponding to the injection quantity. At the same time with this arrangement, however. even with a change in load, an accelerated adaptation of the exhaust gas turbocharger group to the new operating state is achieved.
This additional device can also be used in accordance with the arrangement shown in FIG. 3.
With the arrangement according to FIG. 3, it is also possible to save on the somewhat expensive centrifugal governor, in that the speed-dependent adjustment, the cross-passage of the inlet nozzle and the exhaust gas turbine as a function of the pressure drop through the mass cylinder cylinder zJp ", that is, the differential pressure between the boost pressure in front of the machine and dynamic pressure in front of the turbine.
This can be achieved in that the adjustment of the passage cross center on the turbine, which is to be provided by the machine as a function of the pressure gradient, is carried out by a control piston, on one side of which the pressure of the charge air and on the opposite side the dynamic pressure prevailing in front of the turbine nozzles and the force of a in front of the tensioned return spring, the support point of this return spring is shifted depending on the machine load (injection quantity)
that the control piston at full engine speed and variable machine load, despite the changing pressure gradient through the machine cylinder caused by the later or earlier closure of the shut-off element in the outlet channel, at least approximately always occupies the same position, so that the adjustment of the door when the machine load changes bine nozzles takes place in the area of smaller nozzle cross-sections depending on the pressure gradient through the machine and, with decreasing load, the adjustment range is shifted towards larger nozzle cross-sections.
In the arrangement shown schematically in FIG. 6, a connecting rod 82 is articulated on the adjustment lever 13 of the injection pump, from which the load-dependent adjustment movements are linked to the different positions are mediated. From point 98 of this rod 82 , this movement is transferred via lever 81 to the sliding sleeve e 31 of the phase adjustment for the shut-off element transferred in the exhaust duct.
The rod 82 is also in point 85 on an arm of a two-armed lever 83 which is around a fixed pivot point 100 is pivotably mounted, articulated. The end point 99 of the second arm of this lever 83 forms the fulcrum for the balancing love 86 provided with a backdrop, which is forked at its lower end the adjusting lever 26 ' of the cross-section adjustment is articulated on the turbine.
With its upper end, lever 86 at point 87 engages the piston rod 88. This piston rod 88 is controlled by a control piston 89 actuated - the drawing shows a flexible skin piston - which moves in a control cylinder 90 . The charge pressure PL acts on one, the left-hand side of this control piston, and the dynamic pressure p, - "in front of the turbine on the other, the right-hand side of this control piston. The piston is therefore under the effect of the pressure gradient, dP # p =: PL < B> - W 'through the machine cylinder.
The force exerted on the piston by this pressure difference is balanced by the force of a pretensioned spring 91 . A very specific length of the spring 91 corresponds to each pressure drop through the cylinder cylinder. This spring 91 is now supported on a displaceable spring plate 92 . The spring plate r 92 is shifted depending on the amount of fuel introduced into the machine. In the arrangement shown, this is achieved in that the end 94 of the rod 93 engages a lever 96 pivotable about a fixed pivot point 95 .
The lower end of this lever 96 engages at point 97 in the rod 82 , which moves depending on the injection quantity, that is, on the machine load one. With this arrangement, by appropriate dimensioning of the spring characteristics and the lever ratios, it can be achieved that the control piston 89 at full machine speed, but with variable machine load, despite the pressure gradient through the machine cylinder, which changes with changing machine load, caused by the earlier or later closure of the shut-off organ in the outlet channel, approximately always occupies the same position.
The control piston only shifts as a function of the changes in the pressure gradient Ap "caused by the change in speed, but not as a function of the load-dependent change in this pressure gradient. The control cylinder and piston thus assume the function of the speed controller.
In the arrangements shown in FIGS. 1, 3, 5 and 6, a radial turbine is shown schematically. drawn; But it can also get any other turbine design for applica tion, z. B. also an axial turbine. In the same way, an axial fan can also take the place of the centrifugal fan indicated in the drawing.
In the anorclings shown in FIGS. 1, 3 and 5, the speed-dependent adjustment of the closing point of the shut-off element in the outlet channel and the passage cross section of the inlet nozzles takes place Exhaust turbine through a centrifugal governor. These speed-dependent adjustment movements can also be dependent on a pressure variable that depends on the final machine number (hydraulic pressure,
pneumatic pressure), e.g. B. by means of a control piston which * is under the action of a hydraulic or pneumatic pressure that changes depending on the machine rotation rate (e.g.
Sealing oil pressure, fuel delivery pressure, active pressure of one of the orifice plates or nozzles placed in front of the fan.) In the regulating arrangements shown, power amplifiers of a known type can also be switched in at various points in order to obtain the necessary adjustment forces.
