Process for descaling metal parts The subject matter of the invention is: a process for descaling metal parts, in particular rolled, drawn and. heat-treated iron parts. It is known to descaling iron parts by chemical treatment after heat treatment. The chemical treatment requires large systems and has the disadvantage that parts of the building are attacked by the vapors escaping from these baths and the health of the people working in the rooms is damaged.
It is. Also known to clean iron parts by centrifugal blasting with iron shot, for example to free them from adhering sand or rust. The surface of iron parts can also be mechanically strengthened with the centrifugal jet method if round, spherical iron shot is used.
According to the present invention, rolled, drawn and other heat-treated iron parts can be successfully descaled in such a way that round soft iron shot with a maximum Brinell hardness of 250 and a diameter of no more than 0.6 mm for the individual balls is thrown onto the parts to be treated.
Exemplary embodiments of the method are explained below.
As a system for accelerating round soft iron shot, a known design is used in an expedient manner.
The soft iron very red with a maximum hardness of 250 Brinell and a maximum ball diameter of 0.6 mm is accelerated by the blades of a centrifugal impeller and thrown tangentially at high speed onto the parts to be descaled.
The scale is crushed and then removed from the iron. One. The bucket elevator transports the soft iron very red with the detached scale to a dedusting system, where the soft iron very red and the scale are separated. The soft iron shot is then ready for use again and is fed back to the spinner. The surface: the objects descaled in this way have a shiny metallic appearance.
The soft iron shot is incapable of causing damage to the surface, which would be disadvantageous, for example, in a cold rolling process or a polishing process.
Non-ferrous metals can also be descaled using the method described above. Health: The new procedure no longer causes damage to the operating team. The descaling can. can be carried out more quickly than with chemical pickling agents. Damage to the object through adhering residues of pickling liquid also no longer occurs.
The contamination of water with pickling liquid from descaling baths is completely avoided. There are also no costs for neutralizing the pickling liquid.
If the soft iron shot on delivery is not. is sufficiently round, the same is appropriately shaped to be round by a special training system before it is used as a descaling agent.
