Hood with unloading device
Hood carriers usually unload the contents of the hood by tilting you to the side. This practice has drawbacks in sloping terrain. On the vineyard slopes, for example, one of the most common uses of the hood consists in transporting loose soil gutted by the rains and which has to be brought up. However, as the access paths of the vines are very often difficult to pass and inconvenient, the carriers must make efforts to unload the hoods, an operation in which they risk losing their balance and which makes this work very tiring.
To remedy this drawback, the present invention relates to a hood with unloading device, characterized in that the bottom of the hood is constituted by a valve capable of tilting, articulated to the lower edge of one of the walls of the hood. , the side thereof opposite to that carrying the articulation being provided with a closure device.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, represents, in a schematic manner, an embodiment of a hood according to the invention with a variant of the closing device.
Fig. 1 is a view in longitudinal section, taken along the line I-I of FIG. 2, showing the valve in its closed position and, in phantom lines, in its open position.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a side view of the hood from the valve control side.
Figs. 4 to 6 show a variant of the tilting valve closing device.
Fig. 4 is an elevational view of the lower part of the hood.
Fig. 5 is a side view of the closure device.
Fig. 6 is a plan view from below of FIG. 5.
The hood, shown in fig. 1 to 3, is provided with a bottom 1, consisting of a flap articulated to the side wall 2 of the hood by means of a hinge 3. On the side of the hood opposite to that which carries the hinge 3, the flap is equipped with a closing device comprising a pulling cable 4, fixed to the valve and guided along the side wall 5 by eyebolts 6 to the upper part of the hood, from where it falls freely on the side of the dorsal wall 7 of the hood where it ends in a handle 8, placed within easy reach of the wearer.
The operation of the unloading device is simple: during transport of the loaded hood, the carrier tightens the cable 4 by pulling on the handle 8, so that the valve 1 is pressed tightly against the lower part of the hood . To unload the hood without its wearer having to remove it or tilt it, all he has to do is release the cable by raising the handle in the direction of arrow f (fig. 1), which tilts the valve. in the opening direction and thus allows the hood to be unloaded.
It goes without saying that we could, in addition, adapt to the closing device an adjustment member making it possible to limit at will the tilting stroke of the valve so as to adjust the discharge rate of the hood.
Likewise, a member could be provided for blocking the valve in its closed position to free the hand of the wearer.
Instead of hinging the valve on one of the side walls of the hood, it could be tilted around a hinge fixed either to the back wall 7 or to the wall opposite said wall 7.
To prevent the cable running along the side wall of the hood from being soiled, this control cable could be surrounded by a protective sheath.
Instead of the cable control serving to operate the valve, it is possible to adopt a direct closing device as shown, for example, in the variant of FIGS.
4 to 6.
The valve 1, articulated to the side wall, is pressed against the lower edges of the hood by a fitting 9, one end of which is bent in the form of a hook to engage under the edge of the valve 1. At its end 10, opposite at this hook, the fitting 9 is engaged between a flexible blade 11, arranged so as to form a return spring, and the upper end 13 of a pull tab 12, the free end 14 of which forms an operating tab. The flexible blade 1 1 and the upper end 13 of the pull tab 12 are fixed to the side wall 5. The fitting 9 is furthermore engaged in a bracket 15, limiting its travel when pulling on the tongue 14 in the direction of arrow f '(fig. 4), which tilts the valve for unloading the hood.
To close the valve, bring it back to the horizontal position in which it is held by the hook of the fitting 9.
The hood could be given an oblique position by providing the lower part of its dorsal wall with a cushion-shaped piece which would have the double advantage of protecting the lumbar region of the wearer and of tilting the hood in order to deflect it. discharge port.
